  1. Thanks. I'll take a picture of the book for you as when I ordered it I got confused as to what ACIM I was getting.
  2. I need to go back to this. I tried it and didn't take to it. Can't remember why. I still have it. Maybe I wasn't ready before. Has anyone done the whole 365 exercises?
  3. My passion for tropical fish turned into an obsession a few years back. Ended up with about 8 aquariums in a 1-bed flat.
  4. Thanks for this. I just downloaded them.
  5. Personal development is much more about letting go and surrender than it is about acquiring and gaining.
  6. My favourite response in this thread. This is the Home Run Hit. This is part of transcending your animal instincts, when surrendering is actually victory. Spiritual growth in ACTION rather than concepts and ideas. This kind of action is worth thousands of concepts and theory. I speak from painful personal experience that I am still going through. I am yearning to convert the people who I deem dragging me down right now, into my teachers. Why are they here? Why have they entered me life? What are they here to teach me? A stark reminder that we can't change the world, so we better and must change ourselves. If you can do this, you have become the spiritual equivalent of Mozart. @Truth Addict
  7. My main aim is to free others from suffering, Lovely way to put it! Makes me think about asking myself each night before I sleep...have i done anything today to help reduce someone's suffering?
  8. @Zigzag Idiot @outlandish @tsuki @Aeris Thanks for the contributions. Bill W and LSD is a challenge for me because when I first signed up to actualised.org I judged all who endulged in psychedelics to be using a substance to gain a temporary and artificial change in mental state. Like a fake push up the ladder of self development. Nothing more than wanting to get high, only doing it with a drug they could pretend was part of the normal self development process. I don't intend to use psychedelics but I'm less critical of their use now and more accepting that I am ignorant in that area. I've been around mental health self help for almost all my adult life. The original AA literature which I believe was heavily influenced by Bill W is the best mental health guide I've ever read. Or how to live your life guide perhaps. Self honesty. Getting out of victim mind set. Stop blaming others. Taking responsibility. Dealing with resentments. Surrender. Letting go. Giving service. Forgiveness. Compassion. Self reflection. Belief patterns. Realising fear is behind virtually all emotional disturbance. Meditation. Prayer. Humility. Guiding others. Carrying the message. Principles before personalities. Easy does it. The Serenity Prayer. Hope. Making amends to those harmed by your egoic behaviours. I wonder how much influence LSD had on a non psychologically trained person writing one of the best mental health books ever written. I mean mental health/spiritual health as one.
  9. If you let the feeling go, what feeling is left to repress?
  10. Hi TA, Playing devil's advocate rather than trying to provoke you here, but why would you assign yourself this duty? Why should anyone believe that you have any authority on this? You will become just another lost soul trying to convince everyone you have the real truth and that your truth supersedes all other truths. You will become sicker and more damaged than the people you preach to.
  11. Hey Dan, It's worded like it's a work specific problem, is that the case? These are acute moments (as opposed to more chronic) overwhelm triggered by occasional difficult interactions at work? Do they come on suddenly when a request is communicated poorly or perhaps you are already overwhelmed and it's the straw that broke the camel's back kind of thing? Love your honesty and also Melwyn reply above. I'm also highly introverted and trying to control aspects of my behaviour at work.
  12. Great to see that this forum is helping you self-actualize. You will be enlightened in no time. @Surfingthewave Thanks for the thread. A good reminder for me that a meditative state can be achieved at work as well as home.
  13. Is this you arguing with your wife?
  14. Exactly! Haven't quite taken to his other books (I've only dabbled with them). I'm slowly building up a library of his YouTube stuff.
  15. Thanks for this. The first one I'm going to watch is the David Hawkins and Oprah one. He's one of my idols right now.
  16. Why is no one getting enlightenment?? Because God is up to his quota on enlightened people. Thanks to actualised.org too many people are becoming enlightened so God has put a block on it for now. When there are more vacancies up for grabs he will let us know. In the meantime just try and be a decent human being as best you can.
  17. Yes I liked that thanks. I love these shorter videos that just cut to the chase and deliver the knock out punch early. Loved it. Great message ?
  18. Have you ever thought about opening up a bit and saying what's really going on? There might be people on here who can help.
  19. When can i sign up?
  20. He probably means he spoke his truth. There are billions of people speaking the "truth", which means billions of truth's There are battles for who has the real truth. My truth is more true etc.
  21. I remember that melt down. I remember the post well. It was an extreme example of what happens on here (and life!) sometimes.... It's easy being "advanced" when things are going well, harder when things are not going well. I'm working on my Joseph Maynor "fuck you all" demons as well to be honest. He went for the messy divorce strategy. Never a good look. Animal instinct run wild. Took some guts to come back from that though.
  22. I'm not trying to start a debate with you on this, as I respect your opinion, but I personally wouldn't say he was super toxic at all. For me that's harsh. I remember when I first joined the forum he was involved in all kinds of disputes and rants, and then he mellowed and managed to somewhat take a step back from having to be correct. He wasn't the only person heavily invested in his own ideas. He tried to swallow his pride on a good few occasions and sometimes he succeeded, which is no easy thing. I miss some of his input on the general threads. I liked it when he came out from just the journal section to play in the main area I always found his journal mega difficult to get into. His writing style was not for me and that frustrated me as it meant I lost the motivation to read through his stuff, hoping to find a real nugget (and nuggets were there!!!). Then again I have the same problem with Leo's videos. I think powerful, life changing messages, insights, and teachings can be more concise than some people present them as. But that's my problem, not the teachers. Other's hugely benefit from that style of teaching it would seem.
  23. I think Flowboy is from there?
