Absolutely right. OPs question reflects the cultural assumption that being hooked on heroin is so bad that refusing a hit will likely be almost impossible and requires some super-human state of mind to achieve. What is less recognised is that, whilst very unpleasant to withdraw, many people manage to go through the process for a variety of reasons including being so defeated by the life and reaching their own particular rock-bottom which leaves the choice of killing oneself or taking the pain. And those who make it through will most probably say that staying off is much harder to achieve than going through withdrawal. In fact, taking some "turkey" is part of the lifestyle of active addiction and is experienced by many addicts not that infrequently. Be wary of cultural assumptions (as Leo has previously and rightly stated); be also aware that there are a very small percentage of opiate users who are able to use in a fashion which does not lead to addiction. You don't hear about them because they don't tend to advertise their activities. -

Chaliponga (Diplopterys Cabrerana) when used in place of Chacruna (Psychotria Viridis- "classic DMT source in aya) does produce a different experience but the issue of this being due to 5 MeO DMT is unclear; some older texts claim 5 Meo has been found in chaliponga albeit at very low levels but more recent analysis disputes this. -
Perhaps a new flavour of Cheetos? @Leo Gura -in all seriousness, your disparaging use of Cheetos is utterly inspired, and conjures up a mental image which is poetically apt, tragic and yet hilarious simultaneously. Well done Sir- I salute you!

^^ Here is some useful info for calculating the required dose of DXM (as the hydrobromide salt) for reaching the different plateaus. I have dosed at 10mg/kg and it was an intense experience. https://azarius.net/encyclopedia/43/dxm/ -

Many here are not aware of the magic NMDA receptor antagonists can produce; they synergize wonderfully with cannabis and even better with vaporized DMT. DXM is an interesting one; people using it should always start with a low dose as many people lack the enzyme which breaks it down hence the need for a test dose. 10mg/kg of DXM Hbr is plenty to reveal its full effects. OP raves about the experience- understandably, and Leo states it is Truth. Many have been psychologically knocked off -kilter by this class of drug so be cautious in ascribing anything too unquestionable to the experience. Look up DXM plateaus before dabbling with it. -
Psychedelics are more of a catalyst which act on the substrate of your cognition to reveal newer more flexible ways of thinking and in the process make many of the concepts which the self-actualization work is replete with become illuminated in a way that facilitates progress along the path. The substrate is your baseline consciousness which you bring to the experience hence the variability between what different users get out of it. They work best as an adjunct to the more established slower methods and complement them in a way which speeds up progress. The catch in part is due to the users extolling them beyond their objective worth, and a tendency to ascribe rock-solid conclusions on the basis of what could be explained by predictable neurochemical effects as being indicative of an ultimate explanation. I have used them for over 30 years and love them but such an apprenticeship makes clear their limitations.

The last time Infinite Intelligence (II) delivered some Truth to me, I had prepared several intriguing questions beforehand to pose to II to help me decide if this was a trustworthy entity or not. I took one last deep inhalation from the bottle of jenkum and placed it aside as the unmistakeable sensation of expanded consciousness blossomed. As this is not a trip report I will just skip ahead to the questions with the replies transmitted: 1. "Is Leo legit?? Can he be trusted as a teacher?" "He is sincere and wise, and much of his teachings are very astute. Pay close attention to what he says and ponder on the words before drawing a conclusion. Be alert to devilry, be it through ignorance or for any other reason". 2. "What is 'soma'? Does it still exist?" "You ask the wrong question, and you look yet do not see". 3. "Does Leo know what soma is?" "He knows yet he doesn't know so. Remember devilry and the "counter intuitive nature of life?" He has talked about it, disparagingly, and yet it hides in plain sight. Many have missed their own enlightenment and are unable to move past duality, seeing themselves as distinct from the sofa they sit on". 4."Any last bits of advice?" Sadly, the "line" went dead. I pondered long and hard, and concluded the following. SOMA is an acronym for "Sitting on my ass" and that Cheetos, if used in a ritualistic fashion, are a valid route to liberation and permanent enlightenment." Sitting on my ass, eating Cheetos" - has the ring of a powerful mantra about it. As Leo would say- "Ta-da!" (/s). -

If you truly have 150mcg then be advised- LSD is a long haul psychedelic, and by the time your aya/shroom doses would have abated, this dose of acid would have just reached its peak. I have had the opportunity to sample accurate doses of LSD, and for me 150mcg is not insubstantial and not something I would do unsupervised for the first time. Also note that incremental doses of LSD are not additive; the increase in effect rises more exponentially. 100mcg or at a push 125mcg would be my advice. Drop in haste, "repent" in leisure is not the aim. -

Source? I could just about buy this if mention was made of extracting in place of synthesizing,- there is a world of difference. -

Think of an infinite line projecting horizontally with a sine wave oscillating about it; the up curve can be positive feelings and the down curve, the negative. Where you are on the waves gives you a position of relative happiness/sadness, relative to all other points on the curve. The horizontal line is a place of increased equanimity and that locus, IMO, is more readily inhabited through the work. -

Hurrah! Now that is a valuable preliminary insight; its just a pity that your vids don't stress this enough with your notions which suggest the opposite eg Absolute Truth. Ditch the "sort of" and then proceed. IME/O if you really embody this you will reduce your hubris which makes the truth of what you say more "credible" (limitations of language noted). -
The experience is so tricky to articulate, and I apologise if you thought I was getting at you re the mg/mcg issue. 17mg of vaporized freebase is a very very strong dose indeed if executed properly. I think part of my concerns relate to the conflation in this thread of various ROAs with the inevitable result that a wide range of numbers are thrown out there eg Leo being a fan of up to 30mg of salt rectally, and the advice to push up the dose by 5mg if its not hitting the spot which, without explicit reference to the ROA, belies the potency of the compound. For efficiently vaporized freebase the following schema is considered appropriate by a small but dedicated group of practitioners who almost certainly know more about using 5 MeO than many here: 2-7mg for psychedelic novices; 8-12mg for those with some experience and ability to navigate the space; 13-20mg for those who are very experienced with high dose psychedelics, starting at 13mg and increasing the dose in 0.5-1mg increments. And glass pipes are far from being the most efficient tools for vaping 5 MeO freebase, something which is also not adequately stressed in on-line discussions.

Leo, it is not nit-picking.And the comment made is not a criticism of you, but more a recognition that inevitably there are going to be members here who think that you are "the cat that got the cream", and they want some of it without knowing, as you do, the full implications. This is because the slant here is to eulogise it in a way that could be very dangerous for the user, and the responsible enthusiast. And to Zigzag Idiot- 17 MICROGRAMS? Pray tell, how did you weigh this dose out?
-
17mcg. I call bullshit. Or a typo-BUT there seems to be so many people here yearning for the 5 MeO DMT full release experience, without any true comprehension of what it entails, who on one level feel they need to "rise to the challenge" because Leo is telling them their psyche is not ready to handle it. This stuff is not a casual thing, and I have reservations about how its being presented here on Actualized. It draws attention to it in a possibly negative way which in time could have major implications for its availability. If the above poster meant 17mg and is describing his experience then he should be glad he either had the salt version and/or a shitty vaporization technique.

I don't think Angelite is a religious fundamentalist; he/she is making tentative moves to question matters (ie picking bits from Hadith to support their understanding of the Quran ie semi-Quranist) but the disquiet of the cognitive dissonance between the indoctrination bestowed and the questions in the heart are a barrier to the acquisition of a truly free-thinking mind. Shedding such dogma is not easy. -

Are you saying Al Bukhari contains weak hadith, is not mainstream Islamic culture and a pick-and-choose subjective approach to Quran/Hadith is the way to Absolute Truth? Ponder on this. Also, perhaps look up the references; because you have not heard of them doesn't mean they don't exist,. -
Corpus replied to Angelite's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Recall, you stated "We Muslims take Hadeeth as Absolute Truth". Then you qualify this by declaring you are not a pro at hadeeth ergo you speak without knowledge (something the Quran forbids- Al Isra, v 36). Re monkeys stoning- Bukhari ,book 63, no.75. Re goat ate verse- Ibn Majah Book 9, no.1944 (English),or no.2020 (Arabic)- graded Hasan ie good enough to use as supporting evidence. Re killing one who changes his/her religion- Bukhari book 56, no 226. This is not in the Quran. This reply is not about starting a to-and-fro about the "Science of Hadeeth", and I appreciate the potent effects of conditioning on generating a position/inability to think for oneself, and I would expect the contextual argument being used by you when clearly the Quran states that Allah completed the religion, and any and all innovations lead to Hellfire. Islam, like other dogmatic ideologies, requires gold-medal winning mental gymnastics to accept it as the Last Word, inerrant, on Truth. -
Corpus replied to Angelite's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Come now, you know this statement is disingenuous. You have not mentioned which collections you refer to, nor the gradings (sahih, hassan, da'eef). If your statement is true why don't you relay to us the ahadith pertaining to the verse of stoning being eaten by a goat (and hence not in the Quran), the one about monkeys stoning one of their kind for adultery, the Prophet stating that the one who changes his religion should be killed. You present a limited picture of what the canon of Islam is- and I speak as someone born into Islam, studied it pretty closely (and been on Hajj) but took the shocking step of deconditioning myself from its narrow perspective. -

Its because I realised the iniquity and servitude of being in debt since starting to earn, and whilst colleagues were renting flash flats and buying fast cars I took advantage of shitty but free accommodation for 8 years, saved my wages, paid a good deposit on a home then worked pretty much 6-7 days every week to pay off the mortgage in less than 7 years, cut my hours dramatically and am now taking it easy. I have it better than most doctors who construct an egoic prison for themselves which compels them to keep turning up to work to finance a lifestyle which doesn't really satisfy them. Awareness can be nurtured when one is off the treadmill of work-earn-spend-sleep and repeat till you die or crack-up. Take-home message folks- understand what debt means. -

Don't be. Living his life to avoid wage slavery?- Check. Enough self-awareness to move away from an abusive system? Check. Doing less clinical practise? Check. Values truth? Check. Enlightened? Not yet. -
Corpus replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
A doctor who focuses the 10000 hours on studying medicine his enlightened colleague spent doing self-enquiry is likely to have 10000 more hours of medical knowledge , with a bigger knowledge base to draw upon. I would therefore think his chances of making a mistake would be lower. A truly enlightened doctor is one who values truth, and is probably doing less clinical practise in a system which is not fit for purpose. He would be able to do this by living his life to avoid wage slavery and have enough self-awareness to move away from an abusive system which is haemorrhaging doctors and where the suicide rate should be a cause of concern. -
Corpus replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Doctors invariably do make mistakes, and the pressures of time requiring "quickly finding" symptoms and signs exacerbates this and yet the doctor carries the can including loss of livelihood on occasion. We realise perfection does not exist in this game and you improve the odds of a good outcome by a considered approach which takes time. And yet patients will suffer and sadly your average member of the public is not ready to accept that the loss/crippling of their loved one is imaginary. It is also unethical and effectively forbidden for a surgeon to operate on his own son because of the "un-enlightened concept" of emotional involvement. -
Corpus replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes. -
Corpus replied to Ibn Sina's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
And a little later, the patient is admitted because in the doctors haste to "quickly find" symptoms, signs and give treatment he has missed vital info leading to an error. But, coz he is enlightened, he realises the patients suffering is imaginary, as is the letter from the regulators telling him his licence is gone. This tests his level of enlightenment and he is found wanting because his children starving is really The Brutal Side of Radical Love. Sincerely, you have no clue what the realities of being a doctor are. -

Re-read the question to which you proffered this gem. Don't worry about the whole question; just read up to the word AND, and reflect. (Clue-its fucking hard to be a good doctor).
