  1. I find that surprising, honestly. What you say is entirely up to you, and how your message is interpreted isn’t up to you at all. But you already knew that going into it, so why the regret? Also, do you plan to self-publish or have you found a publisher you like?
  2. Yeah, well-educated people can still be gullible. I was unaware they were ever in danger of losing political power. It seems to me the CCP simply has a lust for more power. I was also unaware that there was a US military presence in the Philippines. So, I thought China already had an opening to the south. I do know about the US military presence in Japan and South Korea, though. So I doubt that would happen unless Biden wants to leave those countries also. I guess? I’m pretty sure Apple, General Motors, and Tesla all have more economic clout in China than Taiwan does. What if they were to stop doing business in China following an invasion of Taiwan? If you buy into that propaganda, sure. A massive nation invading an island immediately to the east isn’t really a big show of strength. It would be like the US invading Cuba now that the Cold War has faded into the past. Would anyone be impressed now? It would’ve been a big deal in the 60s. I just don’t have a perspective that sees a CCP controlled Taiwan as this big awesome thing. ??‍♂️
  3. Did you ask where she heard it? Perhaps. What are the arguments for Chinese invasion?
  4. How would anyone be convinced that a viral infection that was first seen in Wuhan is America’s fault? In a war of propaganda, China has a looooooot more work to do. It was super easy for Trump, on the other hand. The virus started in China, so it’s a China virus. China bad, America good. Boom! Propaganda done. As far as Taiwan is concerned, it’s widely known they consider themselves to be independent. If China were to invade, I’m sure there would be many Taiwanese frantically trying to get out similar to what we’ve seen from Afghanistan because they don’t want to live under CCP rule. But it doesn’t make any sense for Biden to hastily take the military out of one country and hastily put them in a different country soon after. I say if China decides to become the world’s asshole by invading, let them. Congratulations, one island acquired. But it would make them look bad globally.
  5. Anybody remember this: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jun/26/texas-senator-wendy-davis-abortion-bill-speech People called her “Abortion Barbie”. She ran against Greg Abbott in the gubernatorial election and lost badly. She was also on the Biden bus that was almost stopped on I-35. This is how it is in Texas. And now, with more liberal people moving into the state in droves, there is a massive backlash against it. This abortion ban was inevitable, really. Sad and predictable.
  6. Nah, they’d probably turn on him and call him ”Biden’s Bootlicker” or “Pfizer Fanboy”. There’s a lot of incentive for him to double down against vaccination.
  7. Wow, that’s crazy. Thank you so much, I loved listening to her perspective!
  8. This post aged well, didn’t it?
  9. If infinity can be explained through any paradigm at all, it isn’t infinity.
  10. What do you mean, “what does mean mean”? I could say that the mean of {0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8} = 4. But then maybe you’d say that isn’t what you meant at all, and I’m hijacking your thread just to be mean. Perhaps the end doesn’t justify the means after all...
  11. The double-slit experiment and Schrödinger’s Cat paradox are already fairly well-known and describe the same phenomenon. Due to the superpositional nature of subatomic particles, objective measurements can’t be made and, by extension, neither can objective facts about the measurements taken.
  12. ? Such a drastic transformation!
  13. @Gianna Well, I won’t take a screenshot of our conversation. But my exact wording was “Is your spouse ok with the stuff you do and the people you see?” because there were a bunch of people at the party she already knew. Also, she said last week that she wanted to meet this week. I’m going to follow up and see if she’s still interested.
  14. Yeah, I know “well, if you have to ask...?”. I’ll go ahead and preface this by saying I apologized twice already. I met a woman at a party on Friday the 13th, and we hit it off well. We’re now friends on a social media site, and her profile says she is married and polyamorous. She gave me her number, and we’ve been texting back and forth. She asked me for my address and said she can‘t have people at her place because of her marriage. Her spouse doesn’t have a profile on the site, she was alone at the party, and I don’t recall seeing a wedding ring (which doesn’t necessarily mean she doesn’t have one). I’m well-acquainted with the notion of polyamory (I’ve been a unicorn) and I’m fine with everything up to the point where I’d be a dirty secret that causes marital strain. So, along with giving her my address, I asked if her spouse is ok with her doing this. She became defensive. She said I came across as judge-mental, and she isn’t hiding anything. What say y’all?
  15. Are you crazy?! That’s not how you start a conversation with anybody! You should start with “Hey, what’s your name?” and build from there. If it replies with Nunya, then you’ve got something interesting!
  16. Well, it helps to be very isolated and have low population density also. But yes, vaccination and wearing masks certainly had an effect. The United States could never be like Iceland, no matter how many people are vaccinated and wearing masks.
  17. Sounds more like some word vomit Trump would toss out to sound tough. I hope it’s only a grasp at some “good optics” because he has seen his approval slipping. Biden is wise enough not to call off the withdrawal over a few dead Marines.
  18. Cost: millions of people around the world die to a very non-lethal and veeeeeeeery contagious virus. Benefit: I can live my life how I want and not give a fuck. OR I could give a fuck if I wanted. That’s freedom. And freedom ain’t free.
  19. He doesn’t need to screw up, because of... ...all these people who love Trump and hate him already.
