In what context? You'll have to tell me about your search and how this question comes up if you want a useful answer.

    @winterknight

Being as in being that which is me, becoming as in awareness being made and remade constantly. I can't differentiate between whether that which is, is me, or that which becomes constantly.

It does, but it isn't suicidal, because life happened to us spontaneously, we ought to live it spontaneously. If we force ourselves out of life that would be resistance. But it does mean death in the sense that you would be giving up on your identity as a "person". (I'm not gonna go as far as to claim i achieved this tho)

  3. Now isn't that liberating? No name to protect, no social status, no bank account, no job, no relationship, no life or no sense of identity. This doesn't mean deliberately not getting a job or a relationship is liberation. But it means enjoying it while it spontaneously happens and not being moved after it's done. Life, relationships, money, social status. Nothing to protect, nothing to prove. Or am I wrong?

During the civil wars in feudal Japan, an invading army would quickly sweep into a town and take control. In one particular village, everyone fled just before the army arrived - everyone except the Zen master. Curious about this old fellow, the general went to the temple to see for himself what kind of man this master was. When he wasn't treated with the deference and submissiveness to which he was accustomed, the general burst into anger. "You fool," he shouted as he reached for his sword, "don't you realize you are standing before a man who could run you through without blinking an eye!" But despite the threat, the master seemed unmoved. "And do you realize," the master replied calmly, "that you are standing before a man who can be run through without blinking an eye?"

(other versions of this story then describe how the general, surprised and awed by the master, sheepishly leaves)

  4. Enjoy.

A Loaf holds many grains of corn
And many myriad drops the Sea:
    So is God's Oneness Multitude
And that great Multitude are we.

The All proceedeth from the One,
And into One must All regress:
    If otherwise, the All remains
    Asunder-riven manyness.

    God is an utter Nothingness,
Beyond the touch of Time and Place:
The more thou graspest after Him,
The more he fleeth thy embrace.

  5. I say this with my very chilliness, with my fat and carbs. I am Chilli Cheese Fries and there are no Chilli Cheese Fries but I. The only Truth and Reality is my Carbs/Fat. I am frier and the fried, the seasoned, fat, cheese, chilli. I am all of that. I Alone am.

You think your vanilla fries matter? You think your French fries matter? You think your tasty experiences matter? What does it matter if you don't know your chilliness? Nothing. Take this with dip sauce.

    The oil is dipping.

That is why I said it is not about looking for words or answers, but about identifying what is.

The questions are not conceptual, but to start the inquiry.

But what is found, can be put in words, if understood.

I don't understand what you mean by identifying? Identifying sounds like knowing what it is to me

Indeed the answer follows out of the question, but can you answer them? If you have no more questions you must know everything, or you do not want to gain wisdom.

Now you are just stating the obvious to let us no you are there.

So, what is? What typed your post?

At least in Zen practice such questions are unanswered. As soon as you "know" the answer, that isn't the answer anymore. I'm paraphrasing from Tao Te Ching: The path that can be followed is not the true path, the name that can be given is not the true name. The unnameable is the mother of 10.000 things.

In Zen practice, at least in beginner practices we breathe in and ask what am i, breathe out and say I don't know. Not knowing is the key

Ram Dass is one amazing being who has that love, that burning to connect with other beings exploring consciousness. With his humble heart he illuminates the way out of darkness for whoever wants to see. Today he lives in Hawaii and spends his time bringing comfort to the terminally ill with nothing much more then just sharing their presents together.

    That's heart warming
