Let me put this in some kind of context for you. Let us say you have your favorite bar. And you go to this bar twice a week for a year. At least once a week - when choosing a seat at the bar there is always one seat short. But the place is always packed so the seat always ends up being between you and another guy. Every time you exchange eyes with this guy who walks up to the same seat you did he says to you "that's my seat". Or maybe some of the time you say "look dude, I was here first..its my seat". And then you lock eyes but you aren't interested in really fighting for the seat. You aren't ready to throw the first punch. But you also don't wanna relinquish the seat. But in the end, because you're a passive dude by nature,, you do nothing and he inevitably draws back and punches you square in the nose. You recoil away and he takes your seat. You were lucky this time you weren't knocked into a coma or worse. This happens again and again, once a week, for a whole year. So finally you are fed up, and you decide the next time a stranger comes up to the seat, you are going to strike first. Because you're tired of being the guy who got caught looking. Well..that's all this is. So really to look at the current night at the bar is to really have a very myopic viewpoint. There may be a hundred people at the bar screaming how you were the aggressor. But they really don't know how you had been taken advantage of for so many nights prior because they only attended the bar that one night when you decided to strike first. -

You can't play that card because if you do we can go back beyond 90 years. If your point is two wrongs don't make a right then please just say it's two wrongs. My point was not just to point out where Israel is wrong but where everyone else is wrong too. The singling out of one people because it's "current events" is very limited in my estimation. -

I honestly think it aligns with his Goodness video. He had good intentions he's just blind to his own biases. -
Inliytened1 replied to Leo Gura's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
It's fine to be bias but at least come out and admit it. But none of the stuff you mentioned has he brung up anywhere in any thread. It seems there is no seeing the Jewish perspective anywhere. Sorry "'zionists" 😞 -

They have gone too far I've said this before. But remember they were attacked on Oct 7th and they just want their own state and they don't want to be destroyed. I don't think they're acting strictly based on what happened in WW2. As a matter of fact I don't think that at all. They are acting to avoid extinction and can you blame them. It's a far cry from Hittler. Now yes Hitler held a grudge from how Germany was treated in WW1 But last time I checked Netanyahu doesn't consider any people subhuman the way Hitler did. He just wants sovereignty over his own land and state. Do I think he could have done things differently yes. But you're also not in his shoes with Hamas trying to wipe you off the map either. I don't think the US support makes a difference. The US will be an ally regardless unless Istael went crazy globally. -
This is because the US is stage Orange. All that matters is money. AlL THAT matters is money. Even for the Presicent of the US. You had a billionaire come in who cares about nothing but his own wealth and power. In his case maybe it's no longer about dollars and cents but it's about power. And wealth is power. So if it gets Americans fat, dead or otherwise- so long as it makes the wealthy wealthier then long live the USA. This is stage orange.

Christianity is a belief as @Leo Gura points out. All religions are beliefs. They do not understand that true spirituality collapses the distinction between subject and object or self and other. They cannot conceive of this. To them, other is God. Jesus is other. Their concept of you being a part of Jesus is just that - concept. You must first grasp the difference between concept and actuality. Something religion doesn't yet understand. -
Inliytened1 replied to trenton's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This is just as advanced as bringing in the infinity of Gods into your logical proofs of God. One must first be willing to entertain possibilities other than Christianity. Then one can even begin to inquire into what is reality, what is Truth, and what am I. -
That's precisely where it fell off. Up until then I thought it was good and had promise.
-
There's no character development or depth. The premise started out awesome with the the idea of consciousness being transferred into a new bodies. The first episode was very good and into the second. And the alien on the research ship was cool. But then as it progressed it became like a low budget horror show.

If you havent watched this show watch it. It's truly a masterpiece. I hear they are coming out with a second season almost a decade later. I just watched it for the first time though I had wanted to watch it long before. You will love every minute especially if you are a fan of Tom Hardy and period pieces. The backdrop of 1814 London was excellently depicted with beautiful scenery, great costumes and extraordinary acting by all involved. The suspense and drama is second to none and will keep you hooked through the entire series.

Predator with Arnold (the first one) cannot be matched.

It kinda got bad after the second or third episode imo. Started out with excellent promise.

This is excellent and precisely correct. So we face a dilemma. But to the others point this also means that philosophical discussions are not useless. If we have no way of communicating the Absolute and the only true way is to become the Absolute then this validates Solipsism. But notice that this in itself is a philosophical position. A philosophical position cannot be escaped. And thus should be embraced. Whether or not it can get you to the Absolute is irrelevant. It can only point you to the Absolute..or if it's not aligned, it can point you away. Which worldview you believe should be none. You should heed all worldviews and then discover for yourself what is true via spiritual practice. Now..again this too is a perspective. Take it for it what you will. But the key here is that if you remain open you can attempt to validate any worldview through your own direct experience. After that you can hold the worldview that is true. And whether others believe it should not be the goal of expressing it. -

😀 so what do you have to report? -

How else should I take anything? I'm a person right? Isn't that the fun of it? Look..you're right sitting around here all day is going to get you absolutely nowhere when it comes to truth. However it will get you much further than a philosophy class in college. Those classes suck. Here you get advanced material from awakened beings. There you get an average professor in a rat race for the highest salary. So there is that. The discussions here are productive- but they won't get you to Absolute Truth. If you want that - again do the practices. -

I know you're trying to get off here. You're here a lot less frequently. And yes. I'm 55 and I was enlightened at 48. I don't have much else to do at this point. Yeah I have a house and a wife and a dog. All that good stuff. But I've lived and also died. You have yet to live. So go live. I don't care if you entertain it or not. -

You're the worst example of this. I'm already awake so I can fuss around here. You aren't. So really why hasn't it clicked for you? I suggest you take a dose of your own medicine and get the hell off here. Go join an ashram or something. Anything but here. Because it's worse than playing GTA3 imo. And BTW i know you're trying. -

And what remains. What takes over. What is Truth. -

Love you too. Yes. The use of language at all innately incorporates duality. I..you..me...Self..other. it is a losing game. Sit and stare at your hand for hours. All of this isnt needed. But at the same time a logical framework IS needed as a pointer to then do the work. If you woke up one day and I told you to stare at your hand your mind would have no spiritual traction or any ground. The concepts set the backdrop. At least it did for me. Perhaps they aren't needed for some. -

Precisely. However it is a very slippery slope because you and I walk fearlessly and open minded into the dark night but this does not mean that the majority do. For them we must take care to frame things properly and make things seem elegant. Solipsism isn't elegant in that to me the word implies a self. So shall we use Absolute Solpsism as the philosophical worldview? I would actually encourage the abandonment of the term altogether. Idealism fits nicely here because it indicates that reality is mind. What it doesn't do is specify Oneness. How to incorporate all of reality into a single term is near impossible. So using terms at all for most people will only add to the confusion. Hence I stress the spiritual practices. Keep an open mind and do the work. Then you'll find what is true and it won't be found in a philosophy class. -
Inliytened1 replied to Razard86's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Oh man this is good stuff. This is where Leo's proofs would have really shined. Objective idealism begins to break down if you really apply logic to it. Hegel and Plato didn't think that deeply. The thing they missed is that the self doesn't exist either so subjective idealism also doesn't exist. Its not really self/other. It just is. So it is idealism. Subject/ object is a duality. -

@PenguinPablo for the record I don't believe context does matter. And I don't care who you are making an example out of or whether it be from the Absolute or the relative. But I think both aspects should be empasized. For example if you want to demonize Hitler point out that he is also Love. Or if you want to emphasize the Absolute and say that yes he's Love be sure to emphasize that he was a demon when it came to relative matters and he caused a lot of suffering. Likewise the treatment of Netanyahu should be no different. Current events - past or present- should be no different. When you do this you will find that you don't have a bias against any particular leader or people. That is truly not having a dog in the race. If you want to make a thread here demonizing Netanyahu and studying his demonic ways well then where was the thread on Hitler? And where is the emphasis on both the Absolute and the relative? There is neither here. And i understand this is a relative section of the forum but if you are going to single one people out then i think its important to keep things balanced. So Is the dead horse beaten? I say nay. There is much to learn. But yet here there is only the demonization of Israel. Because that has always been so easy. -

@OBEler it's not that fun to truly lucid dream. I become lucid only part of the time. Most of the time I'm asleep. Meaning I'm dreaming other. Lucidity has its usefulness but full time lucidity is not that immersive or fun to me. I'd rather fully immerse in the dream. And for that, other is required. -

Let's just be realistic Hitler despised Jews the most and wanted them gone the most. So don't try to diminish the specific hatred Hitler had for Jews. They don't have Russian Holocaust museums do they? They're opening a new Jewish one in Chicago this year. Why don't you come down and visit.
