  1. The alternative is nothing. Which you also have lived. Forever. So now there is existence. It has to be some way. And this is it.
  2. @theoneandnone But to be fair you would lose your sanity completely if other isn't real on a regular basis. It's only when you want to go meta that you know it's imaginary and that you are God. But those times can save you days of suffering when times get tough. Thats what the liberation of enlightenment brings.
  3. Precisely..imagination literally is reality. The collapse of this duality is perhaps the most beautiful of them all if you can collapse it and also undo it on the fly. That is what being lucid in the dream is.
  4. Think of it as it's not your mind it's Infinite Mind. Infinite Mind has nothing else to do but dream stuff constantly. What else would it do. So it creates elaborate dreams with infinite depth. Alone means AL-One. ALONE.
  5. Well then you misunderstood the teachings. Alone doesn't mean loneliness. Utter shock and terror to realize other was an illusion yes - but suffering thereafter no. You integrate it. It's not an egoic thing although it seems like that. It's an awakening as God or Consciousness Also remember God and ego are also a duality. There really isn't. difference between anything including that.
  6. Good if you're serious than let's have a dialogue.
  7. What he means by that is you as the ego doesn't exist. Leo says the same. Ramana calls it Consciousness and Leo calls it God but something exists. But it's virtually the same. Ramana doesn't talk about the realization of aloneness perhaps but it does exist whether Ramana mentioned it or not is irrelevant. When you wake up to realizing it's all in your mind and self and other collapse there will be a drop or a sense of loss in realizing there never was other. Just because Ramana doesn't address this doesn't make their views different.
  8. @Carl-Richard more Solpsism clickbait and I bit....
  9. So what's the difference then? Please specify because I don't see it. By the way he doesn't say it's out of infinite Loneliness or that it is unbearable..that's silly. Stop spreading misinformation.
  10. I stopped 5 seconds in..he says yes it can change states but you're not going to be become more conscious..ummm ok. But enlightenment is a shift in consciousness which drastically expands consciousness so yes..it can. Why couldn't it? He's hung up on being against drugs because he didn't need them. Hooray. Neither did I. But who is to say they don't expand consciousness? Him? Ok. Guess he's the authority. Look i promote meditation but ultimately is it going to enlighten everyone? Obviously not or he wouldn't have all these followers they would all be awakened. It's not the tool anyway that's just the catalyst.
  11. Haha I wish I could of recruited you years ago to fight against these neo-advaitans. But @James123 is a lot more.reformed nowadays you should have seen him a few years ago.
  12. Think about it. When you take a psychedelic you just take it and it invokes a shift in consciousness. Meditation is.no different. The point with meditation is to not know. To surrender is to know. So the ironic thing is the very thing he fights against is what can stop you. I know what you.mean in a sense you are surrendering the ego but that is after the ego is gone you can't think that going in. They are merely tools or a means to an end.
  13. No meditation is really about just being there. Being present. It's not about surrendering. It's just staring at your hand. Or doing concentration meditation. Or self inquiry. Thats what the nature of meditation is. Nothing guarantees awakening but I can tell you that suffering plays a large role. Such that Jesus suffered on the cross. But that happens when life happens it is completely distinct from meditation practices .
  14. Thank you @Ramasta9 this is excellent work. He needs to be reminded to come full circle. He has not done that yet. Bless his enlightened heart.. I can feel that now. But yet rather than diving into life and coming full circle to enjoy life to the fullest it almost seems like he just wants to paint that as the "dark side" and honestly i don't carry the paint for that. Let's get him moving in the right direction - thanks for that.
  15. Bless you. Yes. The problem is neo-advaita became a religion. There was no metaphysical framework or spirituality. It was a material universe with no self in an empty body. All this no different than believing Jesus was the son of God who died on the cross. But bless you for bringing some of it hack.
  16. True on all counts brother. Suffering is indeed the best teacher. Words of wisdom. Rather than criticizing whether psychedelics work spend more time speaking about what you have said here to me they are wise words . Much love to you brother.
  17. Well the question would be as to whether it could produce a non-dual state for some and produce ego-death. I would not rule out that it isn't possible just because it didn't happen. Just like I'd say to Leo that meditation shouldn't be ruled out because it didn't happen. Or just letting go one morning when going to work. It worked for someone. The funny thing is Leo's best work to me was before he actually became enlightened but it was when he came back from his.meditation retreats. I don't know if he was taking psychedelics at this time. But some also came after. Either way for teachers like Ralston and Gura both are tremendous teachers and both have merit. Sorry to say but @Nahm i just think he's living in a world of deception and not enlightened at all. Sorry to break that you. Maybe he is but he could have fooled me.
