  1. If you like authoritarianism. I don't like giving complete power to one person it is basically monarchy. Thats all it is. Now whether you think the US democracy is corrupt because of the politicians you might not be so far off.
  2. Well said. Yeah the West really rose after WW2. Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Churchill. Those were men of wisdom that built it. What we have now in the West is an embrassment. But you're right there is too much custom and thus stage red/blue for the Middle East. Israel is trying to rise above it but is constantly being dragged down.
  3. @Breakingthewall what do you think of the conflict considering the history?
  4. I disagree it's just that you have terrorist organizations running your governments.
  5. Well in 2005 israel withdrew and by 2007 Hamas gained control of the government but started launching rockets as soon as Israel withdrew. Yes Israel still controlled the border but Hamas did not take a peaceful approach after Israel withdrew. They could have sought peaceful means but they didn't. They just wanted to crush Israel which led up to the 2023 attack. So no I don't feel like they are innocent at all.
  6. You are assuming this is the case. Maybe they just realized that being passive ends up dead. And they wanted their own state. It wasn't a matter of taking out what the Nazis did to them on Palestine. They just never wanted to be in that position again.
  7. I never said they weren't. I said Israel was being demonized on this forum. They have every right. But don't complain about the bloodshed. And don't think for a second that the Arabs wouldn't seek to take what Israel has.
  8. No they just fought for their own state.
  9. If you really want to tell the whole story no Israel had to fight for everything they have. You don't crucify Hamas for fighting for what they want..which is to allow the prolonged bloodshed by refusing to surrender. It is this kind of violence that Israel rose up against. So don't hate the hated.
  10. Well that hadn't happened (Palestinians being forced out) when Hamas attacked. This doesn't justify anything just because they thought they were going to be forced out. If that were to happen -and it's not what is happening- and Bibi went back on his words - then I would see things differently. But also remember that Ben Givir may fear that not taking further action would end in Israel's demise by allowing Hamas to rise.
  11. The argument clearly here is that it's ethnic cleansing. And I don't see it. Israel was attacked and then they want their hostages returned. Their end goal isn't to get rid of the Palestinians. The argument on Palestinian rights is another discussion. But that is different from ethnic cleansing. Hamas is continuing the war just as much because they refuse to give the hostages back and surrender. If Israel let that slide it would be a sign to give Hamas hope to rebuild and attack them again. And they have a right to get their hostages back. That is the perspective they are coming from.
  12. Hitler would win if israel didn't learn from it and sat back like weaklings. No one else is going to keep them in existence but themselves.
  13. He should give me some examples first rather than just a blanket claim but regardless of course the Jews have been persecuted by many peoples but what does this have to do with the conversation. Is he saying i shouldn't support the US becsuse they are backing Israel? That's absurd.
  14. Where are you getting anyone hates the Palestinians? No one hates anyone. My argument was against the claims of genocide. Hamas attacked on Oct 7th not the jews. Are you OK man? You seem to be getting emotional and attacked @PurpleTree pretty hard. Take it easy. The discussion was based on the posts in other threads where Israel has been demonized for what they are doing but no one is demonizing Hamas here even though they are enabling the deaths of Palestinians because they refuse to return the hostages.
  15. Time to pay the piper or abuse of power?
  16. I hear you brother but what's the solution just keep everyone who is already here here and then close the borders or leave them wide open?
  17. @ExploringReality I see a few good things coming from his Presidency though. I think the increased tarrifs will eventually cause more factories to be built in the US and I think the immigration laws needed to be tightened up. Open borders wasn't working. Abortion laws also needed tweaking. Outside of that..those are the only positives. Internationally when it comes to wars he has not been the presence everyone thought he would be. Russia is doing what it wants and so is Israel. Inflation is still sky high but that's because of the tarrifs and they were high with Biden. But the stuff you mentioned is really negative. We have to vote democrat coming up. As long as they aren't going to completely reverse what I stated above. I do not agree with deporting everyone point blank so I think they went too far with immigration? Maybe find a middle ground. An illegal that's been here 20 years doing good things for the country shouldn't be kicked out. I think a review needs to be done.
  18. I am with you i think it's an abuse of power but it is within his power by law. Trump is a snake that will slither into every possible corner. I was against him deploying the National Guard to DC but I guess it ended up not being such a big deal.
  19. Well..the thing is its rarely used but..and this is from AI: Yes, a U.S. President can authorize the National Guard to stop protests, but the legal authority to do so is complex and has been a subject of significant legal and political debate. Historically, the National Guard is controlled by state governors. However, the President has the power to "federalize" a state's National Guard unit, placing it under federal command, especially under the Insurrection Act of 1807. So this is what he has been using to deploy the National Guard to states and overrule the governor there. Antifa is a real thing he just throws it around whenever he wants
  20. @Majnun hehe. Good call. I wish him luck but he has to watch falling into beliefs about things especially solipsism.
  21. He is of course using it to score points for the right but what do you mean by eradicating the first ammendment? How would he be stifling your freedom of speech?
