There's also that spiritual insight. As a human you can choose to be: 1) a locust, a pest that devours everything in its path. Note the locust is not evil per se. 2) a bee, a loving creature that helps plants pollinate and makes sweet beautiful honey. Ignorant humans become locust like. Loving humans become bee like.

It's simple it's better to eat things that dont value their lives as a sentient being, chickens value their life they will run and fight to save their lives. Apply the same principles on yourself then and just kill yourself. From my perspective it's much better if you die and in the process the 10,000 animals you will eat in your life span either didn't exist merely to be food in cages or die to carnivores instead if they were wild. A lion eating meat is fine because it will die otherwise, a human on the other hand wont die but decides to be a glutton and devour many animals on pleasure eating. So if there is no wrong or right, good or bad then I take that principle to the extreme and say that we should just kill humans who eat meat , it doesn't matter if they value their lives, only stupid humans anyway and we'll give them a quick death. Please if we were to kill you right now as a real scenario you'd cry and beg for your life. So tell why are you so bias when it comes to your own life. But so selfish when it's not your life on the line. This is this exactly how the selfish ego works. If you could take both perspectives of you and the chicken at the same time you wouldn't kill yourself if you had options. But if you knew that one of you must die then you'd sacrifice the weaker self for the stronger self.

You know what's good about smokers? Most of them know and accept it's a BS unhealthy thing to do, they've gained enough insight and all that's left in their defense is the addiction/bad habit that they can't seem to kick. Alan watts used to smoke and drink, guess we should start drinking and smoking now, must be a good thing if a great guru did it.

Just make sure it's not Solipsism. Solipsism is not it. The way you're describing it sounds like an insight the ego had, it roaring with concepts. -

No it had fog of war. It did however lose its first match where it was forced to look at specific screen frame like a human did. It fell apart easily and became easily abused to a prism/Immortal abuse. Disappointing. If they perfect it, it will be like a game of chess, it will know all situations and counters and never lose to a human unless they handicap it. -
And this is why people fall into the nihilism trap and then Leo needs to backtrack and say all the opposite things in a "motivational" labelled video

We already had a meat thread why the new one? Eat whatever you want, you dont need to make a "case" for it. It is lawful to eat it so no case needed. Enjoy it while it last though because as humans and cultures develope to heavy stage green or yellow it will become illegal to eat meat. (probably not in our life time). The mind can warp and justify any case, people in a cannibalistic tribe feel justified in eating humans. But the rest of the world has grown in wisdom that killing each other for food just isn't good enough. As far I read about the Dalai Lama he eats meat when he's offered by his hosts whilst traveling. This means not only was the animal already killed but he's probably not contributing to thr meat industry by spending his money towards it. On top of the fact that he probably doesn't eat too much meat. I think most gurus do similar things, when Im in social circles I don't force people to cook vegan food just because of me, neither do I go on staying hungry. So you eat meat but keep these things in mind: 1) the mass produced meat farm industry is disgusting, if you spend 24 hours working there I doubt you want to eat it. You wouldn't want to eat chickens that died through sheer exhaustion in cages, you wouldn't want that to go inside your body. Also the lack of sunlight, cheap grains fed and antibiotics used, you really wouldn't want that in your system. 2) meat farm industry is causing damage to the environment and global warming. 3) meat has been proven to the same level of smoking to cause cancer. But the risk of smoking is higher. 4) I've seen a lot science research saying that the optimal meat we should eat varies from 0g to 70g a day. I have not seen any study that says we should be eating lots of it.

Ego putting a spin on truth is not what I was talking about. -
alankrillin replied to ivory's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes. Each time you are fully present the snapshot of the moment is complete, there is nothing missing. Only the ego can convince you that is it not perfect. A lot of unhappiness happens because we compare ourselves to others and other situations and want to have similar things. Well the truth is you can't be others, you can only be yourself, your own unique perspective of existence. -
alankrillin replied to SQAAD's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
It's simple don't overcomplicate it. If you have a problem you want to solve then figure a way to solve it. (example money issues). If you can't solve it then come to terms with it, (example death of a loved one). There isn't much else you can do. Coming to terms with your own death is liberation. Becareful with having no expections, it can easily lead to being too passive and nihilistic. For Example no expections in dating just doesn't work. You want someone who at least has similar values as you. -

It is only the ego that can desire to complete something that is already complete. There's so much you can do with the ego, you can go on an so many journeys, and mental masturbate about spirituality forever if you like. All the changing within the unchanging emptiness is truth. All you need to focus on is awareness, how can anything exist at all? And yet you know without a single doubt that you are here. Existence. -

He's 100% conscious. Consciousness is always 100%. Whether the ego thinks so or not. I guess you mean how spiritual or agreeable his ego is to you that may swing the % how conscious he looks to you. Irrelevant to consciousness and more BS for the ego. -

As wavy pointed out it is a 100,000 population survey (but increase in population and the problems of it can still affect the numbers which I won't go into here). I think you're stuck in your "suicide is a conspiracy idea for fake news" My point is, as population increases all death tolls in all areas will increase not just suicide. So I understand what you're saying, it's not rocket science. I already knew what you meant and know that 1/100 and 2/200 is the same odds. Forget the graph for a second and read the article from the world organisation I linked. It is still the 2nd most caused death between 15-29 year olds across the world. Second to accident. In the most comfortable era with technology. So regardless of 1/100 or 2/200 the overall ratio of suicide should have gone down as the world improved, there is definitely a lack of fulfillment like Sadhguru was mentioning. -
What you guys think? I find that a lot people on self help forums like these are usually nihilistic and depressed so it rings true when sadhguru labels selfhelp in the following video. Of course each individual is different, but patterns do emerge.

But you see accidents have gone down by a lot, it should also increase with population and more cars on the road. Homicide has gone down which should increase with population. But the fact that suicide has gone up as opposed to down when we live in the best era of comfort in our evolutionary timeline, you should also take that into account. I don't think it's a scare tactic, there is no money to be made here. The people who warn us about suicide are the same people who say the matrix system of society isn't working, that we should stay away from social media, away from cubicle jobs, and use technology very carefully as it creates a lot unfulfilment. -

Suicide is rising in young adults it has become 2nd for cause of death. That's sad, we're obviously not heading in a direction that makes us value life. https://www.prb.org/suicide-replaces-homicide-second-leading-cause-death-among-us-teens/ Interestingly it's fallen in Europe so maybe that's because Europe is becoming more stage green. But still 2nd most of death in across the world for young adults. https://www.who.int/mental_health/prevention/suicide/suicideprevent/en/ Mind boggling how death by choice is 2nd. -

Another flaw I bet 95% of human wouldn't survive without tools in the jungle, 95% of people won't be able to build tools from scratch or hunt well. Dont make claims for skills or abilities you don't have, just because a factory can make a gun or your ancestors could use bows and arrows doesn't mean you can or most of the population can, a very important point you decided to ignore. What's your direct experience. My point is carnivores would need little to no lessons to be an effective predator they have the instincts and intuition ingrained. A human on the other hand needs years of wisdom passed onto him. Good luck reinventing the wheel when no one in the tribe knows how. -

Same here, guys I meet think I'm 10 years younger and say I'm joking about my age and women usually guess 3-5 years younger. Yeah I have no idea what these guys are talking about I usually feel bloated, tired, or constipated if I eat meals of meat or wheat products. I'm on the higher end of my ideal weight which means I can afford to shed some weight and also I get asked if I work out because I have some naturally muscle curves for someone who doesn't work out. I think it's from the nuts, peanut butter and potatoes I eat. So really in my direct experience i have no idea what these guys are talking about. @SgtPepper I'm tired of arguing with your misinformation , no not all vegetables are good raw it's on a individual basis you need to research which vegetable releases best under which condition. As far as science is concerned meat gives better nutrition when cooked, and is safer to eat, that's why we've been eating meat cooked for centuries. I didnt say we are exactly like gorillas I didn't say we shouldn't wear clothes and hang about in jungles. It is a FACT that we have a common ancestor with apes we have 94% Dna match to apes, and apes are mainly herbivores on diet regardless If they eat insects they are labelled as herbivores. I say this because people like to compare us to carnivores because we have tiny canine teeth. You're constantly strawman arguing and intentionally missing my points do I have to spell out everything by writing an essay to cover all grounds? And yes maybe we should eat insects, it will probably be healthier for us humans, save the planet, and at least the insects wont be subjected to tight cages or torture or other mistreatment. But better choice yet I'd say vegetables, fruit, legumes, nuts and seeds are even better. And taste better too. -

It's just nihilism when they say "why bother, its pointless/meaningless" Nothing in this universe says it pointless, the trees grow, all living creatures try to survive, the earth keeps spinning. When you put cement over ground nature still tries to crack through the cements and grow grass through it. God consciousness seems to be doing a lot for something that is pointless. It takes a mind to make a conclusion of "meaningless". To fall to nihilism or depression, to commit suicide. It takes no mind for being, existing, or to be God consciousness. Reality is a canvas you can't paint "meaningless" onto a canvas the moment you try to, you just created meaning, you tried to convey "meaningless". -

PS. As someone who eats very little meat a week think 1 can of tuna approx. And barely any wheat/bread (occasional pizza). My blood and vitamin results came back perfectly fine. I was told that I'm "slightly" low on vitamin D and that's because I live in a cold cloudy country. So forgive me if I ignore what I think is the same food industry that corrupted the food pyramid with processed wheat products making false claims. I'll use my own direct experience that my blood tests show that I'm perfectly healthy. PPS Common ancestor with apes, nearly an exact match in Dna. Apes are mainly herbivores. -

Great more nonsense. Your first flaw I'm not into any vegan propaganda. You can stop with that. Secondly if you actually read anything I said instead of trying to prove me wrong you would have seen that I said humans need external tools to hunt unlike any other creature on this entire-planet. So unless those those tribesmen you mentioned are chasing prey with their bare hands and teeth then your argument is mute. I never said you can't eat raw meat but again you didn't read. Everyone knows about sushi. I said raw meat releases much less nutrients than cooked meat, and I said raw meat can easily make us ill whilst carnivores have no problem. Both which are true. You also said vegans bodybuilders use steroids, as opposed to what?? that meat eating bodybuilders don't? Grow up what kind of argument or reasoning is this? With that kind of reasoning you'd be the joke in a judge jury TV episode. Supplements, seaweed etc are easily accessible for first world countries. Also the body can create some missing nutrients. The article you linked me is so stupid it has vitamin D3, has nothing to do with being a vegan best form of vitamin D3 is 15 minutes a day in direct sunlight. -

Don't worry about him at least with rats they proven junk food can create addiction and craving. Food is similar to chemicals. Video games and porn can be addictive just through the chemical reactions and dopamine it causes in the brain without any external substances. So you are right you can't trust your body or brain. -

It depends on what the negative consequences of it might be. If for some reason it's even worse as a lot artificial things are then no. It might fix the problem of animals suffering which is great but it might still cause cancer or all sorts of problems for humans. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.powerofpositivity.com/how-meat-filled-with-cancer-and-disease/amp/ My argument here isn't to save animals. It is about wisdom bringing right action. One path leads to suffering and killing of animals, its proven to cause cancer, and it has huge environmental impact to our planet. I think someone who consumes little meat and catches his own wild animals not supporting the meat farm industry is still on the positive path. When you intuitively feel oneness you won't want to kill and eat another animal if you can avoid doing so. The same way you won't want to inflict harm to your current body. When it's a matter of survival though you would even amputate your own limbs willingly if it means life of death. Yes in the grand scheme of things good and evil come together, but the choice is yours if you want to output good or evil. No matter how enlightened you are, you would not appreciate it if every human you came across wanted to screw you over being completely selfish because you know "everything Is pointless so why not be selfish, good don't matter". Like I said Infinity is not an excuse to take wrong action, just because everything is "pointless". Thats not highly conscious or spiritual, that's just nihilism and depression. Enlightened people are not depressed people who go around saying everything is pointless. Enlightened people are in awe about how miraculous everything is. And they would have very little tendency for the destruction of anything. -

Mate you really need to do your research. You probably read one article on the Internet that probably says meat is required, probably paid by the meat industry to keep the payroll going. A balance varied diet of vegetables, fruit, legumes, nuts and seeds is the ultimate diet. Hands down. -
alankrillin replied to Amun's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Stop it with the misinformation please. Google vegan athletes, no excuses, why the hell are you comparing canned beans full of sugar with meat? Natural beans don't have "other shit". The reason why vegan diets get a bad reputation is because ignorant people who try it don't plan out their varied meals and end up eating the same things causing vitamin deficiency. New science in the last decade actually says a lot of negative things about meat you should be eat 15g to none a day. Everyone knows fruit and veggies are healthy on the other hand. And the science of it as been clear for decades. Humans share a common ancestor with apes. Apes are mainly herbivores, fact.
