@Inliytened1 @Serotoninluv Phone bug @Nahm I dunno ?♂️ no one ever asks 'do you want to forget yourself and enjoy this coming dream?' it just happens... And sometimes I become aware of it, and sometimes I don't. (Speaking as the character who remembers the dream in the morning.) BUT to answer your question, I sure hope so! -

@Inliytened1 thank you ?? @Serotoninluv yes sorry, it's confusing when you can either be talking about awakening into the dream, or from the dream. thank you, that's the best, most comprehensive answer I've ever received on the subject of night dreams and it's bleed-throughs... -
@DreamScape just talking about the basic functions of ego which protects the body and keeps it out of jail haha. I was just messing with ya ?

@Serotoninluv thank you we have similar experiences with dream work? (speaking solely in dream talk, as if I'm someone asking you on a random forum) Do you think that the dream self/character becomes lucid and is one and same as waking character, or is still just a dream character who will poof away upon awakening? Of course this depends on lucidity level... I am typically never fully completely my waking-self even when lucid, except that one time that I stepped into the dream fully lucid. Yes this waking reality can act very dreamlike and I don't trust it's 'realness' ... funny because realness is an imaginary idea... ?? -

And thank you for a direct answer... It's frustrating when you think you are asking curious questions and everyone just shuts down like I broke the Zoltar machine. (which is very dreamlike might I add) -

Ok I get you I promise. Can you at least tell me if it's all related to the double slit experiment? Beyond that I think I'm ready to just go into experiencing mode. My mind is too wrapped up. The questions are too heavy to carry... -
Yeah maybe he meant that the ego will protect you at work and is OK to trust a healthy ego. A healthy ego wouldn't smoke at work to begin with lol

I think individualism is just one of those mysteries that perhaps can't be explained... Whether there is truly an individual or not, that's not what I'm asking. Something colors 'my' nightly dreams differently than 'yours' . Individualism is stored 'somewhere/nowhere' even if there's no brain. Even if that very storage itself is an illusion...an illusion through repetition? -
seeking_brilliance replied to Baotrader's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, but I don't really consider night dreams and day dreams to be separate experiences, just different kinds of experiences (flavored, or colored differently, so to speak) with different rules and regulations. Sometimes I am aware, and sometimes not. I'm not saying there is a brain, anymore than my nightly dream body has a brain. And yet somehow the dreams are individualistic, that's what I'm seeking. -

@Leo Gura yes, but that seems like a non answer... The same non answer I tend to get. But go and check out my dreaming reports. Those dreams are individualistic. How and why? -

@Aaron p I could make ayahuasca if and when I really am ready. So that little bit is enough for a trip? -

@Neph do you mean you are afraid that others are in your dream and spying? -

Actually, yes we are dreaming all the time in the background, and you can learn to tap into it through image streaming by Win Wenger -
(some listening music:) Had some dreams last night, but kind of personal and probably not that interesting to others ? so here's a cool lucid dream I had last year : Last night, I got lucid after this person was showing me their pet tiger. It was huge, and not very nice, but didn't attack anyone. I flew away, and realized it was a dream. So I did what I've been wanting to do for a long time : find a dream guide. I tried the method of spawning a dream guide by looking behind me expecting one to be there. I was still up in the air from flying, but when I looked behind, I only saw a woman walking to her car on the ground. I flew over and asked if she's my dream guide. She agreed, and I got into the car with her. It was a convertable, and we drove for a while with the wind in our hair. I asked a few questions, and was determined I would remember what they are... (darn it), but I just got the sense she was giving me generic answers and wasn't too interested. I woke up. (and didn't write down the dream so far dang it!) I went back in, determined to find another guide. This time i decided that the dream guide would come and tap me on the shoulder, because the method of looking behind me wasn't working, and I was in a crowded city street. Two men tapped me on my left shoulder, a few seconds apart, wanting to be my guide. I awarded the job to the first one. Another man comes up and wants to know if I recognize him from another dream, but I don't. I then realize that he is really familiar looking, but can't recall which dream it would be from. He seemed surprised that I couldn't remember and said it had a hilarious storyline. He walks away and I ask my new dream guide for the details of that dream, but can't remember now about it, but involved a handgun. I guess I woke up again, or lost my guide, or something. But then I was out in the street wanting another guide to tap my shoulder. This time it was an older man who was doing paintings on the side of the street. I go over to his little area. He seems to have picked up 'dream guide' as a side job, and didn't know too much about what to do. I asked him to take me somewhere. (this is one of my preselected requests, that the dream guide take me somewhere of their choosing). I think he did take me somewhere(can't remember) because I remember coming back to his art stand a couple times afterwards. So all in all it was a good experience. I like the new technique of letting the appropriate person tap me on the shoulder, although not 100% sure I actually got any 'sentient' dream guides as opposed to random DC's. Too bad I didn't wake up and write anything down in between, but that will probably come as I get more confident of returning to a lucid dream to achieve my goals. At this point I'm so scared I only get one shot that I try to let it go on for a long as possible.

Yeah for sure, there is no 'where'. But why will no one answer how dreams are specific to individual dreamers? -
seeking_brilliance replied to Neph's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Nightly dreams are special to you, the individual, and your brain colors the experiences you have. Your friends who visit your dreams are not of their energy but are projections of your mind. But from a non dual perspective those individual terms don't exist, and you can look at it as more of perpetuatal creation from all angles and perspectives. -
I had long dream awareness (vividness) last night, but this happened right before awakening: I am at someone's home. This dream kind of just popped in from no where and had nothing to do with the previous one. I am standing in the open front door, and the lady of the house is there with me. She tells me she's going to inject me with something, and holds up a large, fat, syringe full of some purple liquid. Through false memories, I trust her because I feel like she has taken me in and has been letting me live with her family. I let her inject me, thinking its some kind of health tonic or vitamin thing. She sticks it into my neck and releases the contents. "What is it?" I ask, curious. "Oh just something to help you sleep," she replies, looking kind of sad. Instantly I knew something was wrong, and was able to spit out a little bit. ( dream logic) I stumble away, fighting off any coming grogginess. The stuff she injected me with must have been slow acting, and I was able to get to the car. Her daughter was nearby and I yell for her to get in. There was definitely something wrong and I was going to save the girl. We jump in the car and I lock the door before the lady is able to open it. Now of course, its not a good idea to drive after being injected by a sleeping serum, but dream logic, right? The lady pulls up her truck in the driveway to block me, and I drive over the grass. Her son is out there now, and at first I thought he was going to help his mom, but instead he is helping me. I drive over the grass and onto the road, and away.

just whatever you do... DON'T get a girl pregnant, or get married, until you are sure! by they way, there are many masculine gay people who fully accept their sexuality. You probably need to work on throwing out your ideas of masculine and feminine.

@louvar you might be better off joining a dream interpretation group on facebook. But don't get too wrapped up in dream meanings, and it takes a true intuitive interpreter to really tell you any meaning. -
seeking_brilliance replied to Mafortu's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Mafortu dreams are a type of simulation. Who could refute that? So at least when I'm dreaming, I'm in a simulated reality. The main misconception is that simulated reality means inside a non organic computer, when 'human consciousness' simulates more perfectly and in high definition than any current or near future technology. So I agree with you, simulation theory and nonduality do not seem to contradict but what do I know? ?♂️ -

@Serotoninluv well of course you can't take any interpretation of anything too seriously. But sometimes the words can speak to you -
seeking_brilliance replied to Identity's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Serotoninluv @Identity Was just reading this.... thought it seemed relevant Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” The first mistake people often make in reading this verse is to consider the words “heaven” and “earth” as literally the globe we live on and the idea that heaven is a physical location out there somewhere. Divorce your mind of that idea. The kingdom of heaven is within you, and you are the earth. But what does this mean? Heaven and earth universally symbolize spirit and matter. The true you is a spirit having a material existence. “Heaven” and “earth” are simply terms to help the intellect grasp the unfoldment of the ONE abiding reality, which is neither spirit nor matter. In ancient philosophical terms, spirit is active while matter is receptive. Think of spirit as energy, and matter as lifeless form that is receptive to this energy. Matter is simply the vehicle of form, which is ultimately illusory because it is subject to change. The spirit side of God is masculine / male, while the feminine aspect of God is female / receptive. They are both eternal. Matter receives spirit, and life commences through a spirit-matter interaction, the first Logos (consciousness). Spirit must have a body / mother / matter / earth to experience through. Genesis 1:3: “And God said, let there be light: and there was light.” In verses one and two, the unmanifest, unconscious, and impersonal Absolute (God) has begun the process of it’s own self-realization. How does this self-realization of its potential become actual? Through his right hand (symbolizing power and potential becoming actual), which is also the New Testament concept of Christ. Light, God’s light, symbolizes the dawn of self awareness or individual human consciousness. This was in the philosophical mind of the writer of the Gospel of John when he states, “In him was life, and that life (individual consciousness) was the light of men.” It is the spark of individuality, which must be built up through the experiences on each plane of existence (expanding its sphere of realization), through the physical (senses, sensations), the emotional (feelings), the mental (thoughts), the spiritual (intellect allied with intuition, wisdom and love), and finally, the fullness of Christ where he becomes all in all, in us. And this act of light symbolizes the impersonal God becoming personal as a self-aware, conscious soul through mankind. Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” What does it mean to be created in the image of God, both male and female? We are not speaking of literal sexes. Rather, the male-female principle which is found in nature of the lower planes is a reflection of the higher nature found on the upper planes in a spiritual sense. Male / female signifies spirit-matter, love-wisdom, mind-emotion, and intellect-intuition. Being created male / female in the image of God is the higher nature ruling completely over the lower nature. This ONENESS becomes dual when Adam and Eve partake of the tree of knowledge and become physical beings outside of the Garden. The mind becomes split, dual, and the mind and emotions, even intellect and intuition, are separate. God tells man to have dominion over all creatures of the earth. Remember, the earth is us, and all the living things in the earth are within us. We must have dominion over the lower nature where all these creatures are symbolic of thought, emotion, sensation, desire, etc. Many Christians have taken this verse to mean we are to literally rule over all animals. Try to tell a polar bear, lion, great white shark, or whale what to do. You can’t. The only power you have over them is your intellect, which can make or build things to contain animals or kill them. But even animals are a part of the human soul, and your physical evolution upon this earth was dependent on them. American Indians understood this truth, and they called animals their brothers, for which they had great respect. (from spiritofthescriptures.com) -

@Serotoninluv Except the once that I stepped into a dream from being awake and could not really find a transition from body to dream body. No choices were made, and nothing was created (consciously by me) and yet here I am (or here is an experience of) stepping into a window which has appeared in the darkness. Nothing was forgotten... until a few minutes later when I lost lucidity
