Well ive doing the work every day for quite some time. I've come to one realization and its amazing and mind blowing. The pure awareness (nothing) looks at itself all the time as the Tsomethingness that manifests out of it, (Source). Something (every damn thing), comes out out of Source. In all actuality there IS only ONE. Its Source....and YOU'RE IT!!

One tends to stop watching the news (fear based media). Also horseshit reality shows which are rampant. -

You're spirit manifesting as a human being. Being Awake and/or enlightened doesn't mean you stop doing human things. It means you're Realized. Dig it? -

How did I do this? I never intended to "find" anything, instead it kept trying to get my attention by giving me peeks behind the curtain. It was only through horrible twists and turns that I found my True Self. -

And eternal Love. -
I find that focusing on inhale and exhale extinguishes thought. I've also discovered that it has a residual effect with popcorn maker mind.

Language doesn't matter, but the message does. -
Look up headless.org and do the experiments. I've haven't been the same since. Good companion books to follow up are The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer and A New Earth by Eckart Tolle.

You give those people love and blessings until you are blue in the face. Why? Because that's your spirituality in action. Running away and disagreement is not the way. If someone insults you, compliment them. Why? Because they were obviously abused verbally before. As someone blessed with the Light of Consciousness you can end it that way. By blessing them and by complimenting them you end this vicious cycle with LOVE.

Have you ever considered that this "bigger thing" IS you?

I like your response. I also think that by running away from family and life in general, one is actually running away from their spirituality. The wife and child aren't the spiritual problem, but rather the spiritual solution.

I have been following Hindu Vedanta with respect to Atman and Brahman. It seems like Buddhism is more well known and popular than Hindu Vedanta. In addition to this the Buddha rejected Atman, (Anatman). Why is this? Could you provide some clarification?

What you're going through is normal for people who are awakening. Its due to the fact that you're becoming less identified with Form and realizing Truth. In addition to Leo, I also recommend watching Levels of Consciousness by Deepak Chopra on YouTube. Also Ishwar Puri Sant has some excellent videos on Soul, Mind, etc. Also on YouTube. Check out Douglas Harding's, headless.org. Do the experiments! If you like to read, check out The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer and Indie Spiritualist by Chris Grosso. However I've found that the best thing of all is just to have fun while doing it. You can really have some profound insights when relaxed and don't take yourself too seriously!

First of all, relax. This is supposed to be fun, not stressful. Check out www.headless.org and do the experiments. Eye opening!

Except to describe what cannot be described with words is impossible in the first place. The only thing we CAN use are words. I understand your point, but how else should we express ourselves? Chriss Grosso in his book, "Indie Spiritualist", calls a lot of spiritual catchphrases "popular spirituality". Gee whiz I have nothing stylish to wear to my meditation group. Get the gist? The whole purpose of this forum is to share experience. Unfortunately it can only be described with language, annoying catchphrases and all!

Well I've never had an emotional experience like that but I usually feel electrical "shivers" from the base of my spine up to the base of my skull. Divine Energy? I'm not sure. I've also started shaking all over, especially in my hands and wrists. Not sure what THAT was! All things considered I'm sure its all healthy. Perhaps the emotions you experienced was the clearing out of emotional junk your True Self doesn't need? If its one thing I've learned from all this spiritual stuff: You are not your emotions or thoughts. Moreover, you are The Silent Witness of those emotions and thoughts. The True Self! -

Read a New Earth. Its as easy a read as Power of Now is, but more detailed. One needn' t read Power of Now after because it becomes redundant. -
I think one aspect of being Awake or Enlightened is to not take yourself so damn seriously. I can't see the harm in having a beer now and again. Perhaps a glass of wine? Like anything in the spiritual realm, as long as we don't identify it with who we are, we'll be fine.

A New Earth is a great read and expounds on what is written in Power of Now. I also STRONGLY recommend reading The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer and Indie Spiritualist by Chris Grosso. The Untethered Soul starts by going into detail discussing Witness Consciousness. Indie Spiritualist is a no BS guide into spirituality and stresses that we should relax and be ourselves and not fall into the trap of "Popular Spirituality". A real eye opener! -

You still need to think! He's not advocating not using your mind as a tool for day to day problem solving. He's telling you not to let your mind take over..get it? -

You should read the "On Having No Head" thread. You realize that you are not living in consciousness..... Because YOU ARE consciousness. You are not just the emptiness, or the nothingness in the room, you are the empty space and nothingness everywhere. You are the Universe. -
One thing you should be aware of with sleep is the body's natural circadian rhythm. The natural circadian rhythm is 1.5 hours. 9 hours is naturally the best solution for optimal cognitive performance. Anything less than that should be realistically manipulated in multiples of 1.5. 1.5 is better than 1 or 2. 4.5 is better than 4 or 5. Why? Because a full 1.5 hour cycle (and more in 1.5 hour increments) supports full cerebral restoration. When interrupted, the brain doesn't go through sleep stages 1-4 and REM stage which is vital for performance in wakeful state. REM state is the dream state. Why do we need this? Because despite all the fiction you've read about dreaming, its actual function is for the consolidation of memory. If you don't dream (REM), you don't learn as well as those who don't deprive themselves of sleep. My recommendation? Get on a regular sleep pattern. Its healthy, and when you're tired take a nap for at least an hour and a half!

Like I've stated previously in a different topic on the same category; once awakened or enlightened, it does not mean you stop working at your job or stop paying bills. The only difference is you are aware of a truth that others who are not awakened or enlightened are not aware of. It doesn't give you superpowers, just a different conscious perspective. You still think and experience emotion, you just don't identify yourself with them.
