  1. @winterknightwhy limit yourself to enlightenment producing wealth? What other ambitions have you? @Jack Riverright dude!
  2. Also creativity should be HUGE! This means giving more weight to the thoughts that can me influenced now. So the thought of sleep now...hell yea investigate the psychological thoughts you had while high...let them be but they hold no weight
  3. @SoonHeigood share dude! One distinction you may want to look into about thought. While it isn’t you, it also is...they are the happening now but they of course aren’t your identity. I hardly ever smoke weed but when I do I get so many crazy ideas in my mind of random ass shit. Fun stuff... there is no defense, just acceptance watch what is happening “now” and carry on! In other words don’t resist them
  4. Does anyone wanna lick “the finger”? Yeah that’s right...the finger loving the chatter here kids ???
  5. Ha I concur dude! Psychedelics aren’t “the way” like any other technique...they show no more truth than any other “experience” truth can only be here now
  6. Why does someone want to smile while getting stabbed? fake is part of the real....
  7. sounds like possible conditioned behavior. wouldn't you say much manipulation often occurs through this victim mentality?
  8. @FacelessWell said friend. Whole heartily agree! @Jack RiverPart of the case for this may be, for those with knowledge of "enlightenment", their limited understanding being this "idea" of how it should be perpetuating the division of self
  9. It is pretty simple really, using others to better understand ourselves. Teaching people not to be so self centered (or raising them to be). Giving focus on the collective in any given exchange. She explains how human interaction is in our innate being as we were dependent since birth. Our connections with people directly reflect our connections with ourselves. Compassion is definitely the right way to go. In oneness there is love and compassion.
  10. I like to keep my attachments limited to emails... Sometimes it takes a good strong attachment to dive deep enough into what creates it...some great chatter here but as they say none of it will do you any good until you understand the chatter within yourself. Oh and don't forget to fully be with whatever emotions arise
  11. Suppressing fear will only perpetuate the feeling...Your only hope in controlling it is to become it Be Batman...i like batman @OuterHOLY BATMAN right on!
  12. @Shin Ask yoda we must! wise he is... manipulating you I am (bring back yoda, bring back yoda!) As teal swan says "manipulation is not evil at all" "it is 'I can't ask for a need up front' so i have to go in the back door to get it" "that is all any manipulation is" Just watched this beautiful speech where she briefly touched on it right around 1:01:00 but i'd have to recommend the whole thing So how to stop manipulating? Well, just see when, where, and why you manipulate and figure out how this seems to be "the way" to go about getting what you want...often times it's cultural/societal norms, or simply how we were raised Be brutally honest with yourself about your intentions/need in a given situation Maybe the next time you consider manipulating...just go right up and say "i gonna try to manipulate you...because la ti da"
  13. @Dan94Darkness retreat, hmm interesting. When i was in that phase i handled it much like you. Unfortunately seeking truth to help support these beliefs will not bring you any closer to understanding actual reality. Eventually it became too much and i had to let it go. Turned out that's exactly what's needed I began throwing all concepts out the door and giving attention to direct experience. Stopped seeking any sort of spiritual knowledge/wisdom. There was only observation of my thoughts/feelings/actions judgement-free To better understand belief systems, I found this video helpful. Asking yourself the right questions like why do i believe the belief i hold to be true may help you break down the beliefs causing the turmoil
  14. To remain just as the “witness” of all thoughts/emotions may end the cycle. This means no reactions/judgements/or “intention”
  15. I believe what @non_nothing is saying here is when you feel a "negative" emotion, but do not want to feel this way, it creates psychological conflict or "suffering" as you cannot be with "what is"
  16. @MM1988The feeble attempt to "control" the emotional state because it is not "desirable" to our psyche People often spill their feelings out to someone close as it is a sure way to work through negative emotions. We can also do personal investigations where we determine what thoughts may have caused or perpetuates the negative emotions. This simple "understanding" what makes us feel bad is curative by nature. I would advise you to go even deeper and figure out what sort of thought patterns are feeding the emotional roller coasters
  17. This has definitely been the biggest obstacle in my life Fear
  18. Does emotion create suffering or does thoughts/interpretations create both suffering and emotion? @How to be wiseDo you equate blissful with peaceful? EM means feeling blissful even when being tortured?
  19. @How to be wisecan you list me your negative emotions? Do you see sadness as negative? Sounds boring to me...i would rather feel nothing and have bliss arise spontaneously at any given moment. Maybe they just don't define the emotions they have to be negative...possibly it's taking the seriousness out of the identity?
  20. "conscious" meaning connected? I find this to be the case, blissful/open/loving
  21. @How to be wiseYou have your definition of emotional mastery, but is it ideal? Emotional mastery (in my understanding) is knowing what an emotion is, why it is necessary, how it comes about, and how it ends. At this point, one has the freedom to experience emotions without labels, not experience those which are useless/senseless, and connect with others. How does one interpret an emotion as being negative? At what point does an emotion cause suffering? Can suffering ever be necessary? Why don't we investigate compassion as in feeling the pain of others. How is it helpful? Enlightened movement is free flowing, intention-less, intelligent, and non-fear based. To avoid judgement and separation when investigating emotions to gain a holistic understanding
  22. yea dude exactly @SoonHeiThere is no "quieting the mind" as in effort to reach/sustain no self. It is an occurrence of undivided attention to what is
  23. I spoke of this with @Jack River a little while back. This reading is "conditioned fear-based effort" / "concentration" (reading aloud in the head as to comprehend all) Ive noticed fear is lingering in the habit itself. For me it was and sometimes still is a trigger anytime i go to read books and other dense material. Ive tried to forcefully control and stop this sort of conditioning and it never seems to work. Let go of the illusion of control, division, separation and effort. For me it is observed until transcended
