  1. @Mikael89 it's like @Aakash is saying. that's the anaology with which you mind can have a bit of taste of the truth... the truth which is beyond the mind. in REALITY (not the analogy), the "empty paper" IS NOT someTHING (physical or with any attribute or qualities) anyhow. don't dwell too deeply on this. it's a concept after all. simply observe your direct experience with eyes closed. you exist. as what?
  2. Q: Why is there something rather than nothing? A: there isn't just Something or just Nothing Both exist. Simultaneously. It's like implying that you can have a drawing without a piece of paper on which it appears. Using this analogy; For Reality, the drawing is the "something" (objcets, sounds, taste, smells etc) and the piece of paper is the very fabric of Reality which is ABSOLUTE NOTHING. Not separate from it in a different place... But with it. In Union, as ONE. Nothing = EVERYTHING and lastly, where and what is this Nothing? YOU are it. You aren't your body, mind, thoughts, sounds, tastes which you experience. You are the very infinitely self-aware fabric of Reality on which experience appears.
  3. talking to yourself taken to the next level ? also, "Nothing" does exist as a non-object or non-thingness but you won't find it anywhere you look because YOU are it!
  4. @Yousef LOL yes. but what is it actually? sure you can give it any name but it's comprised of two different forms we name already like whole of reality is all infinte forms as ONE - no separation just a play of what is to be the background vs foreground.
  5. @Yousef yup. i agree. nothing is literally changed. just the perception of it. kinda of like my DP. the 2 faces and the white vase... "both" are there in the ONE pic. but you can switch between them
  6. There is something as nothing But it's not somewhere, it's here You are it! You are the nothing, looking at everything Nothing and everything= heads and tails = One
  7. @cetus56 do explain. What is the answer?? ?? Is it supposed to be an answer not in words but in experience?
  8. It is Identification. Realize that the experience / life which you think you are living, ever since your oldest memory allows... All of that is simply APPEARING to YOU and it IS NOT YOU. The experience and your life in its entirety! Not just a particular sound, taste, sight, memory. All of it is just appearing to YOU. Remove the Identification and there only remains appearance/experience. It is an appearance to YOU. YOU are the only YOU out there. and that YOU isn't the "I" which maybe commonly refered to... Because even that is an appearance to YOU. YOU are the silent, still, eternal, ever-present, infinite blank.
  9. @ground sure thing! Also note that I (SoonHei) am inclusive in that error.
  10. @GabeN bless up @Anton Rogachevski thank you. About your question, if I am to answer from my direct experience, then the appearance and I are not separate, but are One. And as they are One, it's more appropriate to say there's no two things (appearance and I) it's all one thing. Another thing, the appearance seeimgly come and go, but I remain. Yet, still, when they ARE, so AM I and the oneness is still maintained. Also, @Anton Rogachevski I saw your post about Reality/Existence explained. Very insightful about how seeimgly separateness comes into ONE.
  11. i recall having read this and also understood during one of my sessions that any statement / principle which is self-cancelling is complete / TRUE for example about this thread with the purpose of life: there is no purpose / meaning / lesson in life but then what about that statement itself? so it is self-cancelling. what is the main lesson in life? there are no lessons... but "there are no lessons" is also a lesson. paradox. self-cancelling. life is meaningless = infinitely meaningful = assign whatever meaning to it and it will make sense should you believe it.
  12. @ivankiss haven't seen that movie but i know exactly what you're talking about I had a deep weird high on some synthetic weed and that's the conclusion i drew too. Again, its all part of the illusion with the infinite stories we can create. But yes, other than that, the deeper thing to recognize is that you are traveling to a different Reality each passing "moment" You are "born" each moment technically
  13. Also this means that if one is peaceful with the circumstances of their death and accepts the death (dieing peacefully in sleep at old age) for example then she/he, if persons of religion, likely will go to their religion's version of heaven and hell... So yeah, the heaven with 72 virgins is also an afterlife gift for some egos out there who went and lived a good life with that faith Oh, and eternal lives of course! They maybe identified with whatever version of body/mind exists in heaven for them and live it as the ego. Hopefully in heaven they get Non-duality special talks from asended masters Of course the higher self is there all along knowing the whole thing
  14. @tentacion The answer is yes, it is possible. From what's evident through Near "Death" Experiences... What happens next is usually what the ego's belief is. A Christian having a near death experience goes to a heaven/hell as described per his faith. Same as a Muslim, same as a Hindu, a Jew and so on... The point to note is that what they call ego death is not actually death, but it IS a death in this world. Their ego self usually continues on into the heaven and hell and they have a sense of self still. Many report having gone there, knowing they died (based on whatever way they "almost died" on earth [almost because of course they didn't die as we know they came back and are telling the NDE] ) So to them, they have actually died. Many say they thought about family or something and unfinished business etc and were given the option to return to Earth etc. Also, many people who arent ready to die, like in a car crash leading to a near death experience, they end up describing the journey to heven and then back. True ego death would be where the identity truly dies, a much more deeper level death which kills the sense of self altogether and when that happens, you are still seen to exist as the ONE ABSOLUTE
  15. @Jack Walter Leon @Jack Walter Leon @Nahm @Nahm Jack, as SOUL said. The key is to realize the deeper meaning of illusion. Now about the example you gave, where a person is enlightened and his mother is murdered. For the enlightened person, there is no mother or a murder or a murderer... So there's that. As for what the body/mind/emotions of that person, it will play out whatever is needed in the moment. It's like living life from 2 different perspectives simultaneously. Also, take an example of what some religions say when it comes to conveying the message that everyone is you... Love thy neighbor - Christianity Treat all Muslims / others as your brother / sisters. Now sure. Common sense will note that you will be more loving and understanding of your family/siblings/someone you love... But we all know there is still anger, fights and issues So yes. Anger can arise, fights can happens.. even though the others are YOU or brother/sister/beloved.
  16. @Joseph Maynor Because the theory is only a guide to becoming Enlightened. Living the theory is not what being Enlightened is. Thank you. Just need this step clicked for me. @Anton Rogachevski yeah, that's why it's important to keep the drive on your life purpose or a goal in life (with the understanding and the focus also on the awakening and resting on the I AM-ness.
  17. in writing a few posts in some threads this morning, i came across this realization. all this mental masturbation (as it's often referred to), all the concepts, ideas, stories, all understandings and insights - ALL OF IT. are within the dream. The "goal" for enlightenment (the idea of) is to escape/end the dream and WAKE UP but all we do is to further the dream and remain in it, rather than escape it. Now, in this context, even this understanding and this thread is the furthering of that. at the same time, it also must go on and be this way... or should it be? unless you let it? the large misunderstanding is that most of us have the idea of awakening to be another "event" or content or experience within the dream... when it is an "event" outside of it. outside of the story, the world, the illusion. the idea of seeking enlightenment into the future implies seeking it in the dream.. because future is a concept within the dream/illusion. now what to do about this...? Turn the focus on the I AM / AM-ness as much as possible thru the waking state - in the understanding that staying and keeping as that = enlightened state, which is what you're after, isn't it?
  18. @Jack Walter Leon @Nahm @Nahm I doesn't let me delete the tag for nahm in the post (using my phone, maybe some limitation there... Anyways) Jack, yes it literally means You and I are the same. 100% the same. Just wearing a different mask. Like the pages of a book. They all have different font/text on each page. But the blank white page it is on, are all the same. (All ONE. unlike a standard book, there is no separation when it comes to the pages of the book of Reality) And that state you talk about which you had, and then it went away... That happens on it's own. I myself wasnt aware of any of this until i had a similar experience. Also a note, "trying to get" that state of mind would bring it about. Also notice how that means Jack Leon is the one searching for that state. When we have just talked about above that Jack can never find the truth. Only the Absolute can. Also, trying implies there is someone making the effort but we already know, there is no Jack Leon. Simply rest back as awareness. Be aware of the coming and going.
  19. @Nahm @Nahm i see Nahm seal of approval Thanks. Blessings. Pardon for this egoic response
  20. Lol amen to that. Was watching some Osho videos and thats exactly what he says that some of his words might just trigger something inside someone
  21. Sweet. Well said indeed. The little bit of direction that is understood is for the ego with the illusion of control ... As opposed to hearing "there's nothing to do" and then sitting down and doing nothing trap
