In fact this is crazy...why do you have to repeat everything you see? for whom will you be doing it? Do you register your body movements? I do, very often. P.S. I think I have an idea how to help you quit smoking. Sorry for the random thought, I remember you asked this on forum.

  3. If everyone is beautiful and happy, how would you evolve even as a human being? Think about living in a fairy tale all the time...you won’t be able to call it a “ fairy tale” anymore? How would you define between happy and unhappy, ugly/pretty if it would be the case? Evolution will cease to exist if variety has gone.

I thought it was under "Life Purpose, Career, Entrepreneurship" Hey guys I wanted to ask this question for a long time. I really want to improve my vocabulary. However, I am tired to use index cards all the time. Question for the English native speakers...how do you improve, expand your vocabulary and turn away from vernacular language? I know academic reading helps, but I am looking for a different approach, new method. A lot of new words I learn do not stick for a long time. Especially after summer break and when not involved in academic writing. Thank you. P.S. I love reading and hearing new words, I love when people use very interesting phrases. Here, I am talking about advanced vocabulary, maybe words that even native speakers do not use that often in their lexicon.

I know people here on this forum will say it will distract us from pursuing the Truth, but we have to get there somehow, through knowledge first, right?

  13. Wow, I am jealous, it is not in my cards yet I had the same feeling when I was in love , therefore in the past I chased that over and over again. Being in love is kinda like a drug. But the consequences was a depression when love is over. I think I know what you mean exactly because dopamine is a hormone that triggers that state, everything as in fairy tale. In the past I had the same attitude, when in love ,life was great with a direction, when not was absolutely meaningless. Work on self-development, even little incremental changes can add to the pot. Maybe find a meetup in your area and mingle with like minded people. Maybe have a vacay somewhere, even in your state for couple of days. Life is magical when meeting the right people. Have a a session with someone who is in topic. You need to find yourself an inspiration or someone who can inspire you. ? just ask a universe to send you some guidance and inspiration and it will, but be patient.

  15. About four years ago I found this book “Seeds for the Soul” by Chuck Hillig. I really loved the book, had a change to have a counseling session with the author as well. There he described the technique where you painstakingly observe your feelings and thoughts at the moment of suffering. By doing so it helps to reduce the tension, and actually it helps to dissolve the inner pain. It helps me a lot. All the time when I have a heavy feeling in my chest or when crying. By putting your awareness on the feeling/thought you help to reduce the tension and negative sensation. Either seat down or lay down in your bed/sofa and observe the feeling, try to pinpoint it, where it comes from, what causes it, etc. It will reduce it significantly. Put as much attention on the feeling as possible. I promise you are going to melt it down with your awareness. This is so interesting how our negative feelings lose their power in the light of the awareness. Awareness does the magic. It is like a dawn with a pretty morning sun beam. Observe, observe, observe....as much as you can till your attention burns any distractions down. I know it is not what you were asking in your question, but I feel like this technique can be used when grounding yourself in the present moment. First, scan yourself for any feelings or thoughts, drop them, become empty. This trick will set you for the next step. My take on it if you can not ground yourself in the present moment, probably something bugs you. Observe anything that might distract you.
  16. Leo, how can we explain this sweetest feeling of peace and pleasure while sleeping? Every night I go to bed I have this amazing experience of indescribable lightness, deep pleasure...almost like a bliss. It lasts couple of seconds when I wake up. But a soon as I remember myself as human being, as Galyna, it triggers me back to this usual state of consciousness. I always wonder is it how this powerful God mode feels?
  17. Thank you, Elton? I have OneNote, plus index cards everywhere. However, I tend to forget my new words. I use Google translator every day, on top of that I have a special chrome extension. But some words don’t stick for a long time. For instance, I know the word “yield” which is pretty common, right? However, it took two attempts of mine to memorize the word “succumb” which is cooler, imo. Same with “overlap” and “superimposed”, the first one used in a regular language, the second one tends to be more in academic one. thanks for you feedback ?

  19. What part of Russia are you from? my dad lives in Moscow, according to his stories that I hear in Skype, you guys had a very mind winter this year. Actually this threw me off guard because Russia is a country with a cold climate.

Talking with newbies is cool because it helps me to grasp some things better. So you said that the mind is a collections of things like: thoughts, memories and images. But what are they if we study them separately? What is an image? I love it, lets keep going
