  1. I love all your answers winterknight. Sometimes they just confirm what we are already thinking! Another one: do you come across as 'weird' to other people who are not enlightened in your day to day life? I find that the stark reality of my honesty and simple presence is hard for people to accept. Perhaps because I am not overt in showing my interest in enlightenment and try to 'fit in' with society, therefore my demeanour 'stands out' as I am not associating with other people on the 'path'; but everyday people who are not seeking enlightenment.
  2. What is your opinion on alcohol and tobacco? After my enlightenment experience I have used both. The reasoning being that nothing matters anymore (not in a nihilistic way, but a good way).
  3. It's actually incredibly common, yet, as you say, people don't usually notice. It takes a high level of awareness. <3
  4. I met angels in my lucid dream last night @Nahm then is there such a thing as 'real life' ????
  5. I was watching Leo's 'Zen Devil' video and I recognised that I am in danger of becoming a Zen Devil. Or perhaps I already am one. See, I've done the meditation and had the insights, yet I have not studied any scriptures. Leo says this can lead to problems. What is the best non-dual book/scripture to read first? EDIT: this isn't strictly true as I have read Power of Now and other spiritual texts, yet I am not grounded in tradition.
  6. @Joshe It's called synchronicity or serendipity. Yes, if you are aligned with your true nature, which is God, then you experience your Self talking to you through your immediate environment. This can be through song lyrics, nature, books, media. It's quite beautiful to realise how everything is connected isn't it?
  7. winterknight: what is the source of anger? Can one be enlightened and still experience strong feelings of anger? I am triggered very easily sometimes and it is uncontrollable. I honestly started thinking I was enlightened, and then, bam! one phone call to my Dad and I feel like smashing my head off a wall!
  8. I don't think free will can be proven to exist or not exist, but this quote hits the nail on the head for me. "I don't know if we each have a destiny or if we're all just floatin' around accidental-like on a breeze. But I I think maybe it's both."
  9. Cos nothingness is really really funny. Remember when you used to laugh for no reason when you were a child? Like, everything was just hysterical? Same thing.
  10. That's awesome. I cry tears of suffering and joy at the same time.
  11. What does one do to avoid going completely insane? Should one avoid going completely insane?
  12. These are the things that helped me the most: when Leo said something along the lines of "there is nothing personal about the body or mind" and he gave the example of how they are no more personal than a tree or a car. when winterknight said something along the lines of "there is suffering, but I do not suffer" when Jim Carrey said "I used to be Jim Carrey experiencing the universe, now I'm the universe experiencing Jim Carrey" Am I enlightened? Even if I was, I wouldn't be able to communicate this to anyone, and you certainly wouldn't be able to tell from posts on an online forum. The experience is what it is.
  13. I was watching Leo's 'spiritual enlightenment - the most shocking truth' and it actually hit home this time. There is no anger or sadness. Instead there is a comfort in knowing that there is no 'me'. I can finally relax, or should I say 'there is relaxation'. All my 'problems' stemmed from a mind-made construction. I'm sure the ego will come back to haunt me in various guises, but I have at least had a glimpse of 'no-thingness' and even as my fingers type this, there is no 'me' controlling the input. It's such a simple and obvious, yet profound truth. And I actually experienced it today. Pretty cool. ?
  14. I've been doing mindfulness classes led by a Buddhist monk, meditating every day for 7 months, and spending a hell of a lot of time on my own. In addition to that, I've been eating healthy, exercising and avoiding addictions.
