  1. @Jeff Zhang Even in korea, many men will not pass their genes to their children. Korea's population started shrinking. Japan's population will start shrinking very soon, too.
  2. Scarcity mindset There is only one way to do this. There is no other way. (Exclusion of other options) If I don't do this right now, the company will die. (Artificial deadline) This company cannot afford a bit of autonomy for workers (Artificial resource constraint) ...
  3. Self-organized schools will not be called schools. I think they will look exactly like online courses, mastermind groups, mentors, and various other things people already do. This means a Yellow society may not enforce compulsory public education.
  4. I might need to tie my limbs when I take psychedelics. I don't want to accidentally stab myself during psychedelic trips. Or, you might try to befriend serial killers during psychedelic trips.
  5. Historically, more than two thirds of all men could die without passing their genes to their children. During world wars, 80% of young men evaporated. Right now in china, 33% of young men will probably fail to pass their genes to their children because there are more men than women in china. Biologically, men are more disposable than women.
  6. I was not talking about turning existing militaries into Yellow ones. I was talking about new Yellow militaries that might emerge in the future. Also, your example is a tactical decision made by a soldier which is a different story from strategies deployed by generals and the modus operandi of a military. The same sniper could be in a regular modern army or a terrorist cell. A modern army has a different modus operandi from that of a terrorist group. I want to know the general modus operandi and motivations of a Yellow military. I want to see the big picture.
  7. Partially because marriage is legally safer in china?
  8. Would you voluntarily subject yourself to military service for 6-12 months if you were never asked to join the army? I wouldn't. The vast majority of people wouldn't either unless they were rendering military service for other benefits like money and career. I could say the same thing about farming, mining, forced labor, etc, etc, ... I propose that as we become freer from forced labor, the societies will become more conducive to enlightenment and personal development. Your friend's experience could have easily become just another distraction if I were him. It would be just another unneccesary pain to me. Pain could easily become a distraction or just another noise in my mind because my ego would react like a crazy monkey. Some people end up shooting others or commiting suicide in army. Each individual needs a unique path to growth. A better path for me would be to do "do nothing" meditation for one hour a day. Even if you were lucky to grow spiritually in army, army would do almost nothing for rising through stages of Spiral Dynamics.
  9. If you don't know how to utilize extreme pressure for growth, you are not going to grow. That's why extreme environments are not for most people. Look at world war veterans. Many suffered PTSD without experiencing growth. Leo Gura recommends slow takeoff for most people.
  10. Most conscripts would not endure extreme environments because nobody would do it for free. Extreme environments are usually reserved for special forces.
  11. To be honest, most people cannot learn much from army. Expecting average men to grow spiritually in army is like expecting a meditation beginner to grow a lot by isolating oneself in a mountain and meditating all day for a year or two. Army is not designed for growth. It is designed for killing enemies. A company is not designed for growth. It is designed to benefit the management and the shareholders. I see very little correlation between military conscription and growth. If you want growth, find or create an environment conducive to growth.
  12. @Ampresus Even if people around you do not celebrate, you are still free from school and work during holidays. Freedom to think and do what I want means a lot to me. Freedom gives you opportunity to train self discipline and get closer to your life purpose. You should utilize your free time to strategize toward your life purpose.
  13. I'd choose the community service because it is more comfortable and comes with more free time. You might want to spare your children from military conscription by giving them citizenships where there is no military conscription. If you don't plan it now, it would be too late by the time you want to marry.
  14. @Ampresus You don't like more holidays? On holidays, you don't have to go to schools and companies.
  15. Being neurotic about failure cripples performance in the long term.
  16. That is the idea. In reality, politicians and various kooks may do various dirty things to dismantle your little party. Also, the fact that people choose their government means an individual cannot easily choose one's own government by voting with one's feet or something else. Democracy is the rule by the majority.
  17. Many people have lower stages underdeveloped. For example, when Orange people graduate Orange into Green, they do so without properly integrating Orange. I can feel that I haven't properly integrated Beige, Purple, Red, and Blue.
  18. Every morning, I do positive affirmation (repeating `I'm always aware`) for 5 minutes, do zazen meditation(focusing on breath) for 20 minutes, and visualize having a disciplined day for 10 minutes. In my experiences for the last few weeks, it seems meditation is the most effective method of all three. If meditation replaces the other two activities, it could be better. Or, I was not visualizing or affirming the right thing.
  19. I have my morning routine in habitica. I executed my morning routine for over a year. So, I memorized my morning routine. I'm getting better at visualizing my morning routine and my day in general. I think it's time to move on from visualizing my day to something else.
  20. I don't mind doing financial transactions for a few years to escape wage slavery.
  21. That's what I thought. Perfectionism.
  22. I think I replay long conversations and long emails because of perfectionism. I didn't want to take a rest until I made sure I didn't get things wrong. In hindsight, those emails and conversations didn't deserve that much scrutiny. So, you should really ask yourself whether a conversation or an email deserves obsessive scrutiny.
  23. This didn't destroy my ego. This video simply says that humans sacrificed a bit of short term memory to speak language.
  24. Hahahaha.... Leo comes in to throw a wrench.
  25. Summary // https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Benjamin was banned from Patreon. Jordan Peterson and his friends realize they need to protect their donations. People in Jordan Peterson's network are working hard to help put together an alternative to Patreon. I personally don't care much about Jordan Peterson's ideologies although I was helped by his psychological tests. I care that someone is building an alternative to Patreon. As someone who wants to make money from donations and various other income streams, having alternatives is important to me. Although my contents will not be ideological, other people might read ideologies from my work and might try to ban me from Patreon or some other donation services. I'm not interested in ideological wars, but the war might be interested in messing with my life purpose. I'm not sure if JP's platform will welcome me because my contents will not be intellectual in nature, but having another alternative is better than none. Making money is an obligation. I got to figure out a way to protect my autonomy and my income in the future. Only if I have enough money, I can think about helping others grow up and achieving my ambitions and rising above mediocrity.
