  1. @inFlow Cool. I haven't been practising kriya yoga. Just been doing more zen-like practices, contemplation etc. Will definitely look into it, thanks :). Yeah, it seems the easy part is reaching the non-dual states when you isolated and not moving that much. The difficult part is unwiring all your neurosis so when you interact with the world you don't have your ego filtering everything through your consciousness. But then again, the ego is a part of the whole and must be loved. The ego is a just collection of certain sensations that arise in consciousness, which is a paradox that I am coming to grips with. There is no difference between your thoughts, your feelings and the sights you see. It is just "being" expressing itself in different forms. So when I do end up in delusion it actually is the exact same experience of when I am sitting on my meditation cushion. But it is hard to realise practice haha
  2. So I need to save to go to vet school. It is my goal to become a qualified vet and use my skills for charitable reasons/volunteering to aid wildlife, maybe eventually starting my own charities in animal welfare. However, I need to save for vet school which is expensive. So at the moment, I am working as an account saving a lot of my salary. However, it means I can't really do much outside of work as I am not spending money. How can I focus on personal development without spending money?
  3. Yeah, I am from the uk and saving about £1500 a month after living expenses. I plan to go to vet school in the czech republic in Brno because they have a good focus on exotics. I just haven't been able to do that much now because i am not spending money, so am alot more alone. Thanks for the tips, can focus on my health/nutrition/spirituality in the mean time
  4. Are veterinarians giving a meaningful impact to society and biodiversity? Is becoming a veterinarian a valid life purpose? Is saving wildlife via veterinarian good work even if you work for gov organisations?
  5. Hands down working with animals give me the most joy. I love them and being around them. So far I have done countless off unpaid volunteering work with animals, I am not getting paid and I still love the work. So regardless I want to work with animals. The question to me that came to mind is "am I still being a wage slave" by just becoming a small animal vet and working for big cooperations. I want to achieve meaningful work through this. So Leos video led me to push for ways to reach out and do more meaningful work. I think that using vet medicine to save wildlife who are on the brink of extinction is a good way. I want to be in the field, living in the bush save animal populations. Seeing how human interaction is diminishing the populations' health. @exhale Do you think being a vet still under wage slave? what vet work do you do?
  6. @YaMayka thanks for the input. Yeah, I wouldn't want to work for food companies. I think my goal is to use veterinary medicine and apply that to save endangered species. Have you escaped wage slavery?
  7. Hi, I am a recent graduate in the physical sciences (mathematical physics). However, since, i have been working with animals and know my life purpose lies in the conservation in animal spices around the plant. In order to maintain heathy ecosystems which we can enjoy. I also had a mushroom trip and on the trip this was clear what I want to do with my life. But I think I need to go back to university. Maybe do another Bachelors. I know @Leo Gura talks about becoming a autodidact. But am unsure weather this is feasible as it seems a lot of positions require degrees in conservation. Do you reckon it is worth going back to university or learning content by myself. I think with this field univeristy is important as you need alot of field work to be able to do field work in remote places like africa or s.america. And I am unsure what my family would think if i go back to uni after doing a degree at 24.
  8. Has anyone here undergone ketosis? Have you followed a ketogenic diet? If so what are the effects on your wellbeing energy and levels? Is it a recommended diet?
  9. To create stability in the hallucination you call life. It gives you the ability to survive. Without the ego, life doesn’t exist. If you experience ego death, you see why the egoic illusion occurs. To maintain order. When your ego is seen through, reality becomes chaotic. Extremely chaotic. Ego death is so deep. It feels like you wipe your memory. Both the short term and long term memory banks. All conceptualisation about yourself, your family/friends and what you believe life is disappears. You literally die. A rock is part of your ego. There is no rock! Really, a rock doesn’t exist. You create that conceptualisation. That concept is part of the reality you call life. When you break all them down it leads to nothing whatsoever! For you the rock actually comes to life in your mind. You create a link between that concept in your mind and a certain type of sight sensation. With in turn creates a duality between the “rock” and everything else. Hence, the ego is in full swing!
  10. @Michael569 Thanks for the support. Yeah there are many paths for me to consider. And your right following this scares the hell out of me. But my vision for this is the strongest I have ever felt about something and will do all I can to actualise it. @aurum I think there is value. But it will cost a lot of money. But also, I find the university structure kills passion, as you are forced to learn what they teach you. In a more rigours syllabus. But the value would be gaining a degree to give you contacts and a boost into industry. As it seems like a pre-requisite for a lot of work. However, I am sure if you learn by yourself and teach yourself the skills jobs will hire you. The thing with conservation is that there is little money in it. People/co-orperations don’t what to invest in saving the plant because it will directly ruin their businesses. As habit/species destruction is what fuels a lot of big corporations businesses. So in order to get volenterimg experience you have to pay for it. That’s what funds conservation organisations. So it is very competitive
