  1. Nice! That's sound really yummy. And what do you do with the fish scale? It is also something to bring good luck?
  2. We have a tradition in my country that I think it comes from Italy, but I am not sure about that. It's that every 29 of the month we eat gnocchi , is like a pasta. And we put a coin, but in the bottom of the plate, under the plate not inside the food hehehe... And it is supposed to bring luck to the person who does that...
  3. This happens to all teachers, I am not sure if it was Ramana or Nissagardatta, they say that if you find any contradiction the problem is in the words he uses (or language limitations), not in the teaching. We always contradict ourselves when we try to explain "reality" or "being-ness"...
  4. He is not related to Terrence McKenna. Jed McKenna is just a name he created to write the books, but he doesn't want anyone to know who he really is. There's a lot of speculation about who is Jed McKenna but no one knows with certainty. Terrence McKenna is a Psychonaut, he seeks for enlightenment or truth with psychedelic plants. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_McKenna
  5. @Natasha You are welcome! In reality we can say that we eat anything... funny. hahaha...
  6. I think this video from @Leo Gura is key to understanding who you are. If we continue trying to find out through what "others" say we will never wake up to what reality is. We are the only authority. Very important video!!! Thanks Leo!
  7. I never thought there was so many crazy things in food @Natasha thanks for this thread I am more aware now hehehe... I found out "How Much Mouse Poop, Maggots, and Cigarette Butts the FDA Allows in Your Food" Lol https://www.womenshealthmag.com/food/g19934852/common-food-contaminants/
  8. That's why we need so many words to try to explain it ... it's impossible but nevertheless necessary. If it wasn't for those words I wouldn't be meditating.
  9. @Aakash It can not be expressed with words, that's the problem. But it's a really good pointer.
  10. I don't know if everyone feels the same, but an insight for me it comes almost instantly, there's no verbal communication like when you are thinking "I have to go to the grocery" for example... :-) It's more like some truth that hits you in an instant. Then after the insight arises I have to translate it to myself verbally to understand what it is about. No language on an insight, instant knowing.
  11. I am not reading anything right now, only a book about Kriya Yoga about Yoga exercises for focus and doing meditation, asanas, etc. Thanks Zero!!!
  12. I am meditating everyday half hour and I am the whole day being aware as much as I can. But I also read from time to time. I know it's for the ego, the ego wants to create comics and needs ideas too.
  13. @RichardY I found some parts that are really interesting about how to BE, how to no react, they explain also about the no-self and non action. But I was surprised to see that they had also this ideas about Hell that I thought that it was only a Christian or Islamic thing. It is interesting to know all different POV, and if one reads it with Open Mindedness I think it can be of a lot of help. I really have to read it in order, I just read some chapters and in random order.
  14. @Freakrik read The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. I just read parts of it, but I think it explains all those realms that you are so interested. You can download it in holybooks webpage. Here you have a link to it
  15. Happy 4th of July!!!
  16. Lol... when I meditate my dog is sleeping. But he is pretty quiet. He doesn't interrupt my meditation unless he wants to go out. hehehe... I am meditating now half hour, I began yesterday. I still have to meditate today. I began to notice how others act and why. And I am using that to realize how I manipulate people. I want to stop my unconscious actions, not reactions anymore. I need to have more silence in my mind when I want to react to what other people say or do. It is funny, because when you began to become more conscious, you begin to notice why people react and how they are going to react. And it's like a clock, it doesn't fail. I know I do the same, I just want to keep focused on awareness to just observe how my mind wants me to react to stay silence and don't react. I want to perform non-actions more frequently.
  17. Don't feel sorry or ashamed @Aakash it's all good, just part of the process. Take it easy. Thanks for sharing!!!
  18. There's only the "experience" at that moment without an "experiencer". Nice...
  19. I feel that this is true with a lot of things, like drugs, you really lose the sense of self, same thing with alcohol. That's why so many unconscious people become addicted to those things, without knowing why. IMO.
