I agree with that. And I know that there's propaganda both sides. But maybe I think that liberal propaganda is a bit "softer" than conservative media. I have to recognize that I like a lot Noam Chomsky but I didn't read manufacturing consent. I will try to read it soon, so I can see better what you are saying. Politics sucks really...

That's one POV, true... from the POV of the ego- self (lowercase "self") most of the things are bad... From the POV of the SELF (with caps) that's a diferrent story.

@Javfly33 Personal or impersonal are just only aspects of God. Some see the "personal" part and some others the "impersonal". It is better to think of it with no attributes or with all the attributes!

Everything appears in awareness, so probably they are shared entities in the lower levels of consciousness, but I don't know. I had sleep paralysis very frequently as a child, but I never saw any being. I had friends who felt presences and saw some weird entities. I don't think I am going to try to do it in purpose, maybe if it happens spontaneously ...

That's the key, the mind will only confuse you. Just do the practices and believe only in your experience. Don't worry about concepts like real, not real, illusory, etc... no word can describe what you really are. The mind will go crazy trying to understand. You can only BE it or experience it, have some glimpses of it, awakenings. Relax and enjoy the drive!!!

@Winny There's an old Zen saying that it can be helpful I think. It says: You are now in the level that you are "searching" so, you are seeing that the reality is not what we think it is (read quantum mechanics if you want a scientific approach to that)" ... then after that passes you will see that anyway, the knowledge doesn't make reality less real for you. The experiences that you gain from life, the feelings, everything is real. So... don't worry too much and just live! You have to live all the experiences you need fully after you reach an awakening or enlightenment. Don't worry now about those philosophical problems.

Of course, it happens. But pay attention to it... it's just a thought! You can see everything from different POVs... you can see it like "if everything is just imaginary... then there's no reason to do anything" or "if everything is just imaginary... I can Imagine whatever I want!" I am the creator of my life! Total freedom. You are the architect of your future. You only have to choose from what POV you want to see it.

Maybe is just the subconscious mind playing tricks on people hehehe... but if you don't believe in demons then you are safe.

Yes, the meaning of the word "real" varies according to our preconceived ideas and beliefs. That's true. In the dictionary you can find both definitions, one of them in my POV is not accurate Lol... but probably that's what our collective ego thinks. Because they put in the dictionary the meanings that we all collectively accept.

Yes, I understand that. Ok. I am not trying to convince you about my beliefs, I like to know other POVs and I think your POV is interesting. I am always open to new interpretations. I wanted to share my idea of how everything is. In what I understand you cannot become God, in that we agree. The difference is that I think that you can't become God because you already are God. This is something that I understood from the Advaita Vedanta doctrine, and from what Ramana Maharshi or Nisagardatta have said. But it is also logical to me. Everything that you want to become is an identity, and God/Brahman/The Absolute has no identity, is the source. And you are that source. This is my belief, just wanted to share it with you but I am not trying to convince anyone about this. I agree with that, I am not completely familiar with the monotheistic teachings or what they say, but I tend to think that they see God as a person or some kind of identity. I don't think Brahman is a person, we agree on that. But what I think is that we are that. We are not persons too, our identity is a false construct. We can advance in the spiritual path and become Gods or Devas as you say. But in the end we all will have to abandon our identities to realize that we are the Absolute, Existence itself, with no names or attributes. We cannot become it, because we already are it. You cannot become what you are. It's impossible. What we have to do is to realize what we already are. We also agree on that point. Brahman cannot be understood. I would add that what is real is the experiences that we have. The lessons we learn. Everything that is not permanent is not real by definition.

That's the problem with words. When they say is not real or is an illusion it means that is not made the way we think it is. For example matter, the atoms or particles that create matter are no where to be found. They are particles when observed and they are waves when no interaction. I like the Christian view of the matter that says that Jesus was man and God at the same time. And that's what you are. You are the same as Christ, God and human. You have to find the God part of yourself.
