This is your story. Personally I'd rather have a sweet, cuddly, feminine, nurturer who's not a looker. Also fiscally responsible, Thrifty, not plugged into this pop culture matrix of being on the consumption hamster wheel of having to have the next new toy or the next flashy experience. The chasing of the dopamine high. Someone I can meditate with. Go on nature hikes with. No bars/clubs. Not my thing. What kind of man needs a hot woman? The man who has lots of options so you're fighting for his affection over other women. Stop pursuing such men. There are plenty of good men out there... they just aren't making lots of noise to get themselves noticed. A lot of people of both genders have kind of checked out of the system, so if you want a guy's attention, initiate. I get it... women's genetic makeup drives them to be have a raw, animalistic attraction towards men with certain attributes. Try to look past your genetic drives. Being human .... sigh... it's not really my cup of tea, but I'm here, might as well make the best of it. Some genetic engineering in 50-100 years might improve our specie's psychological makeup.

It takes practice and repetition. Judgmentalism is basically a sympathetic nervous system response often based on subconscious negative emotion combined with a thought story whereas a DMT trip or enlightenment is basically a profound parasympathetic response. Is that thought story a valid one or a cultural construct? Is it part of "your story?" Reality just is. There is no ultimate right or wrong incarnating into this physical dimension. We are here for the ying and the yang. You can do what you think is right and still have it backfire on you. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Do what you feel obligated to do, but beware you create your own suffering for what actions you take and thoughts you decide to hold and believe.

Screens and video games. I had to delete my Zelda Tears of the Kingdom save this morning and be done with it.. the game has hundreds of hours of content. Also mindless youtube browsing. I even enjoy some thought provoking stuff, but it's still a time waster. I just found the "PBS Eons" youtube channel that has tons of fascinating science content on it. Sigh. Don't get me wrong, I love knowing that all the heavier elements came from supernova explosions, but it's still all mind candy. Reed Timmer is doing his live storm chasing right now. Sigh. Is he going to get cut up by broken glass from hail taking out his windshield again or his partner get his elbow pelted by hail? I saw this one live. He's had two of the best chase videos of his career in the last month, and this is one.

Honestly I believe in heavy checks and balances to keep human nature in check. I'm skeptical of anyone who says they have all the answers and thinks they should lead in any way that suggests they dictate to people. I honestly haven't read enough into the WEF to know what to think of them. I've seen some wise things come out of them and some not so wise. I don't believe in the top 5% getting special privileges, so if they think they are going to get everyone to eat vegan or insects, while they enjoy their Ribeyes, that's not going to fly. Either they apply the rules equally for everyone, or don't bother at all. It wouldn't hurt if they all got rid of their private jets also, if they are so concerned about climate change. People see these wealthy elites doing all the things they tell everyone else not to do, and thus don't take them seriously. Rules for thee, not for me, is NOT, I repeat NOT going to cut it. Lead by example, or don't lead at all. The major problem with our system of checks and balances is that right now, it can be bought out if you have enough money, and these people print money out of thin air, known as quantitative easing.

I see politics like a horseshoe. The extreme left and right have more in common with each other than anyone in the middle, and tend to lean either anarchist, authoritarian, or a combination. They are lower in the spiral dynamics scale due to fear, jealousy, anger, or other negative emotions, and basically want a society in which everyone is like them, because it makes them feel more comfortable. Diversity is a threat to them. Most Germans in Germany did not actually support Hitler. If you read up on how he achieved power, it was almost entirely by happenstance. https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/how-did-adolf-hitler-happen He ruled through fear, like all authoritarian leaders do. People did what they were told, because to not do so was to risk yourself or your family. It didn't help the nasty reparations Germans were made to pay after World War 1. There's a lot to it the history books don't talk about. History is written by the victors. There was blame to go around.

I just like to point out to people talking about how they don't drink Budweiser that Busch Light has the same parent company when I see them drinking it, so if they are trying to boycott something they accomplish nothing switching to Busch. In the end I think they're just trying to be trendy in their social circle rather than actually make cultural change, which is fine. Whatever. I like $3.99 Aldi peach wine. I'm having a bottle tonight. -
Both the keto types and the vegans are unnecessarily extreme. Going zero carb and eating nothing but meat is just as silly as eating nothing but fruits and vegetables. It won't hurt you to have both, unless you're doing it for ethical reasons. The main dietary problem is refined carbohydrates, namely chips (including so called healthy crackers loaded with MSG like Triscuits), pop tarts, cereal, donuts, ice cream, regular soda, french fries, fried chicken, pizza, and mostly because they're addicting and make people put on weight. Too much fructose and alcohol can lead to metabolic syndrome and a fatty liver also, especially with a choline/betaine deficiency... so if you eat gluten free (wheat is the main source of betaine in the diet) and no eggs (egg yolks are the main source of dietary choline), with a caloric excess you will quickly build up liver fat, subjecting yourself to metabolic syndrome and prediabetes.

You need to immediately go to a doctor and get an A1C test done. Also get a fasting glucose test done by them. Report back here after you're done. Follow the recommendations of your doctor. He'll tell you if it's type 1, type 2, or what the problem is. I'm assuming since this post is a month old the problem is resolved.

Here you are. This guy's a walking science experiment. His diet is in this video.

I wear sunblock on my face and neck always, use tretinoin on my face, and take glycine supplements. Glycine is a component of collagen that people lack in their diets that helps maintain skin firmness. That's good enough of an anti-aging protocol for me. I allow my legs to get suntanned for the Vitamin D. Sometimes my arms too. UV exposure causes skin to age faster. Ever notice how African Americans look much better as they age? Whites are ugly when they're old. Some people also use things like NAC, NMN, and Fisetin. I don't really bother with any of that.

Don't worry about "toxins" in toothpaste. Fluoride in toothpaste is perfectly fine for your teeth, though I would argue it doesn't need to be added to drinking water. I'm not sure where that idea came from, but I don't lose a lot of sleep over it. I would suggest using stannous fluoride. It's superior to sodium fluoride. I use Crest. Not all of their brands use stannous fluoride, so check the label. If you are worried about fluoride or bromine, take iodine supplements. As for flossing, my favorite is Placker's "twin line" brand.

This is a hard question to answer. Partly it's greed, but if we did pay everyone more they'd just ratchet up their spending and inflation would increase. People tend to live paycheck to paycheck regardless of how much they make. Look at the cost of real estate these days. Kids get some inheritance from their parents and they all bid each other up on housing because there is a shortage. Are they better off? They are paying more. Blackstone makes a cash offer on that house you wanted? Too bad, so sad.. our politicians won't ban this sort of real estate investing. A lot of it has to do with supply and demand. A lot of it has to do with the supply chains and input shortages. Much of that was pandemic related, and I personally think the reaction to covid was far worse than the illness itself. A lot of it has to do with declining birth rates and less of a laborforce. The easy answer is to think paying people more will magically solve everything, or paying people UBI so that they don't have to work. The realities of markets and supply chains is far more complicated. We've relied on Mexican labor to do the jobs nobody wants to do for decades. Now, we rely on Chinese and other low paid labor to make all the tech trinkets we take for granted, as everything has been outsourced. Nobody wants to talk about the child labor used to mine the minerals for our EV batteries as an example. Again, no easy answers. If you want everyone in the world to have a higher standard of living, it generally means first world nations will have to adjust their standard of living down. The american lifestyle of a 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom house, 3 stall garage, with a boat parked on the lawn, is rather lavish by the standards of the rest of the world. The top 5-10% tend to live in a different reality than the bottom 90%. The bottom 90% tend to think they deserve this lifestyle without having to put in the emotional labor to achieve it. That's simply not going to happen. The middle class is slowly being priced out of the economy. Much of the same drama they faced 2000 years ago in Rome. These things go in cycles.

I would argue psilocybin and related compounds have far more therapeutic uses than marijuana and/or alcohol so I'm all for it, though given how the average person goes about new things, I'd be concerned they won't research proper dosing before they use the substance, and then have a negative experience. Both my parents did this with marijuana edibles despite my warning them to consult me first. Humans as a species generally don't like to take advice from others... they generally like to stumble along for themselves and figure it out as they go, so I don't fault them for it.

I believe a stage yellow thinker can transcend this left/right belief system. When I hear people use the word "nazi" in the same sentence with conservatives I know they are a spiral dynamics stage green thinker, still subject to their particular cult belief systems, though more advanced than the stage orange, blue, and red beneath them, still lacking in some aspects. It shows a level of brainwashing by popular media as actual conservatives tend not to fit this "right wing nationalist" stereotype no more than a woke person represents a typical left winger. I believe stage green don't respect the need for discomfort as a growth tool and self discipline to the degree they should. You can't just give people whatever they want and let them do whatever they want, and give them a bailout every time they make a mistake. This does not result in a good society and culture, because we are still wired with traits given to us through a million years of evolution and still operate best on pavlonian style conditioning. The animal kingdom doesn't revolve around perpetual handouts and an umbrella society. It's survival of the fittest. It's raw, dangerous, competitive, diverse. I believe stage green don't really respect natural selection and evolution as a whole enough. On the same token I think stage greens are too quick to judge when people don't live up to their expectations. Humans are a flawed species and are wired in a way where we will tend to put our own self interest first unless we are more highly developed. There is nothing good or bad about this. It just is. Also, under stress, when the sympathetic nervous system is activated, people will regress to more base level responses to situations. I'm not really sure what point I meant to make with this point. I was kind of rambling. I see a lot of stage yellow in myself, but nobody is any single color... human ego gets in the way. Evolution and our DNA gets in the way. There's a lot of "ego" with the stage greens on this forum as an example. Their movement is almost like a religion of it's own. They might have good intentions, but sometimes the road to hell is paved with good intentions. There is no perfect system to manage human nature in a system designed with entropy in mind (this physical universe and all it's laws) ... we don't incarnate here to live in a paradise... it's more like a video game filled with rules for us to follow, suffering, to see how we respond to stimuli. You have to large degree play the game by the rules you are given. If you try to resist the rules, you create needless suffering for yourself. You can try to change them, but do you have the power? What kinds of rules? Our species, it's DNA, the culture in which you are raised, the laws in your country, and things largely outside your control. Fight against these to create needless suffering. Either do something about the situation, or accept it. All else is madness. Find your peace.

It really depends on context and the level of consciousness of the person answering the question. One person would say life is terribly unfair. One might say it's perfectly fair. Both would be correct. David Hawkins is known to say that all you need to do is remove the clouds that block the sunlight. What that basically means is that thought stories, fantasies, and comparisons get in the way of peace of mind. Especially comparison to the past and regret for actions taken or not taken in the past, and comparison to what others have and the resulting jealousy. If one focuses on the present moment, open focus, absent of thought stories, the peace of mind can gradually take over. It's helpful to keep in mind that the fantasy is often more alluring than reality. A lot of men fantasize over their crush, as an example, without getting to know the real person. Then they get upset that reality did not meet their expectations. This is insane behavior.

I like to listen to Leo's "addiction" and "subtle addictions" videos when I get back into old habits. This morning I just deleted my save file for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom because it's so time consuming and the line in the sand to tackle these addictions for me is now.... this game is designed to consume hundreds of hours of one's time and given I was maybe 25% through it, it had to go. On the other hand, cultivating acceptance with my weakness is equally important. Beating myself up over things just leads to a downward spiral. The trick seems to be to change behaviors first, and not fight the emotional reactions that are part of the old programming, but merely watch them. The cravings really are like a whole body experience, no matter what they are. I see emotions and cravings as one of the same... impulses designed to get the animal organism to take a specified action.

I use tap water. The minerals will condense on the filter over time. There is solution that you add to the water to prevent algae and mold growth. Add it. You can use as much or little water as needed. You're better off getting a higher capacity unit. Mine holds 5 gallons (20 liters) I only change the filter once every year or two. Its just there to wick up the water for release. I only use it for 4-5 months in the winter. Once a year is fine if you add the anti mold solution.

Just work on yourself and let them come around as they will.

I personally think excessive alcohol consumption destroys a lot of lives but if you actually look at a county by county map at least in the United States of which counties drink and then look at another map of the lifespan of counties you'll notice that the counties that drink the most alcohol have the longest lifespans. It's a curious anomaly that I haven't fully explained yet as a guy who tries to figure out how everything works and enjoys these types of statistics. My theory would be that the alcohol might dilate the blood vessels lowering one's blood pressure or that the positive emotions generated from its consumption actually have some tangible health benefits. There are also antioxidants in certain alcohols such as wine and dark beers. I would say everything in moderation and be careful with this All or nothing mentality when it comes to any issue just use common sense. Life is not black and white it's literally an infinite number of shades of Gray. I grew up in eastern Wisconsin and now live in eastern South Dakota and both of these areas and all the land in between is full of drinkers.

My score was 4, higher than 9.7% of people who took the test, lol. https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/NPI/results.php?r=4,0,1,1,0,0,0,2 In my opinion one could still be selfish even if they are not narcissistic, as I can still recognize my own selfish traits in myself. A low score like mine is probably indictive of a boring and/or passive person as well. I'd imagine most "narcissists" lead more exciting lives than mine, but my life suits me. Like most tests like this it's probably the most healthy to be somewhere in the middle, and not on one extreme end nor the other. I found my ego to be so mis programmed I decided transcending it via being was easier than reprogramming it. The peace of mind has gone up, while my interest in participating in the world has gone down. I prefer to be a passive observer of human nature, watching the game play out, with a curious fascination of the outcome.

Buy the salt that contains 50% potassium chloride. Problem solved. You can then pretty much consume as much as you want within reason.

Sounds like LPR or GERD to me, and yes coffee is known to promote acid reflux. It's not even the caffeine, but rather the acids in the coffee. Waking up in the morning with a stuffy nose = LPR/GERD. I get the same reactions from dark beers and chocolate. I have an overactive sympathetic nervous system that is improving as I practice being but stress is the main culprit behind many chronic illnesses which limit one's ability to enjoy certain foods, which put the body over the edge and cause it to manifest with things like GERD, gastroparesis, LPR, SIBO, ulcers, etc. Work on stress relief, proper amounts of sleep, addressing any thought stories that might create negative emotions, rumination, narratives, bad habits, addictions, too much screen time, etc. Read Tolle's book "A New Earth" or David Hawkin's books "Healing and Recovery" and/or "Letting Go"

It's traditional when cooking a steak to sear the outside while having it pink on the inside. It's more carcinogenic but many enjoy that charred flavor in meat. I've been known to use a propane torch to add char to my steaks, something I learned from a chef in fact. The entire steak is not burnt to a crisp, just the outside. A meat thermometer is used to get the inside to the correct temperature for a medium rare to medium cooked steak. In fact, having outside char is pretty much the standard way to cook a steak in the United States at least. You wouldn't go and boil a steak, that wouldn't taste very good. The steak in the above video is what I would call "perfectly cooked" and is how mine look upon completion. Gotta live a little.

Keep reading personal development materials. The most helpful books for me have actually been Eckhart Tolles books The power of now and a new earth. However I've read so many books including probably six or eight of them on Leo's book list that it's hard to say which book made it click in my brain but it's finally clicking to where I shut off the part of my brain that likes to create mental scenarios and fantasies and try to resist the world and live inside my head instead of just being and accepting what is in the present moment. I suffered from generalized anxiety disorder for more than a decade so I'm speaking from experience here. The racing heartbeat jitteriness and the like are gone though I still have some lingering bad habits I'm working on. There's no magic pill that's going to cure you I did it without any drugs the key is changing the way you think and then getting your limbic system or subconscious mind or what Sigmund Freud would call the ID to actually believe what you're doing is correct which will lead to these moments of clarity and peace which increase over time. Until then you're going to have to learn to embrace and accept your negative emotions without letting them control your thought processes but merely learning to observe them like a scientist would be watching a zoo experiment. Then you choose to react differently and not let the emotions hijack your perspective. If you can't do that then you just sit there and observe the emotions mindfully. I would say the book a New Earth describes the mechanisms of the ego better than any book I've come across. I've read these books in the past but it took years and years for them to finally click though. I had to be suffering badly enough to where I wanted the change badly enough to do personal development work instead of playing video games or engaging in some other activity as a distraction or simply wanting to hold on to a position because I am emotionally invested in it because I feel the cause is just or that the viewpoint is so correct. A lot of people on both the left and right engage in this activity. Most people into politics are varying degrees of neurotic. A lot of the men who are part of the manosphere who have this moral idea of how relationships are supposed to be and humans are supposed to behave also suffer from this neuroticism. Again, just more of what Leo would call "should statements." If you're a man I would also add that self-mastery is important that is creating good routines and habits for yourself. A dopamine detox can be quite handy. Beware that it will often make you feel worse before it makes you feel better as all that unconscious emotions come to the surface for release not to mention when you give up any addiction your body's going to generate withdraw symptoms... They might make you act and behave like a man child :-) Everything you need to fix the anxiety is also in Leo's free video content there's so many good videos where he talks about should statements and moralizing and 40 signs that you're neurotic it's all about releasing control especially over things outside your ability to control them. Sometimes it helps to listen to this content or read a book you find that clicks with you multiple times read it a half dozen times. I've listened to some of Leo's videos eight times. I'll turn them on while driving I mostly use the mp3s. Also, using the excuse that it simply your body's way of prejudging as a way to justify your emotional responses will not help you get rid of your anxiety. You choose if you want to break your chains and be free or not. Most people are very addicted to the content of their mind and their ego positionalities. Heck this post makes my spiritual ego look larger than Mount Everest :-). If you happen to have a sympathetic dominant nervous system over exercising can actually worsen the problem in the short term also. I found this article to be quite accurate. For me super low cholesterol was actually a symptom of the anxiety disorder I had cholesterols levels down around 110. I need to emphasize though that any fix you try to make that doesn't involve changing your thoughts and perspective is merely treating the symptoms and not the cause. https://www.holistichelp.net/blog/autonomic-nervous-system-dysfunction/

It's really going to depend on your use case. Most people with municipal water supplies in the United States don't need any fancy filter a simple countertop filter that attaches to the faucet is sufficient to filter out the bad tastes. The simple answer is to get an under the sink reverse osmosis system but those do waste about 75% of the water to get you a gallon of good water takes about 4 gallons total water. Honestly I'm not picky as long as it's cold I'll drink it right out of the tap.
