I went mountain biking once last summer, I loved it!

Is this an effective technique? I sit down daily for an hour, and do vippassana, just being mindful of my sensations and thoughts. Once I get in the zone I start self inquiry, focusing on the actuality of thoughts and the body, seeing that it is happening on its own. After a while of that, and only if I feel like it, about half of my sits, I am able to watch the process of watching, I notice that the self that is watching seems to be in the head, various spacious sensations make up the watching, and I sit there doing that. When I get to the final step I often get into a deep meditative state for a while after, and get cool things like it feeling like my brain is melting, my hands and body parts feeling very big or very small, reality feeling very weird, etc.. I also (try my darnest to) do this constantly outside of formal sitting, except when doing. This way of doing things feels intuitively best to me after trying many techniques. Strait to self inquiry I get stuck in thoughts and distracted, just mindfulness feels ineffective. Is this a good way of doing things, I'm worried that since I'm not doing strict self inquiry, and I'm kind of mixing it with noting/mindfulness it might be not.

@luckieluuke I do it earlier before my routine and it seems to work fine. That is how you should do it, eventually it wont hurt to stretch it all the way -
@Garuda enlightenment is a great place to work from your shadow from. You'll never completely eradicate the shadow, it's a function of the mind that can't be stopped, and that's okay.

just start going down the legs until you can get to toes. It took my about two months of doing it daily to go from unable to touch toes to almost able to get my elbows to the toes, forearm past them. kriya secrets revealed mixed with gamana's kundali exposed and secret power of kriya yoga. @Pouya absolutely nothing wrong with mantras, it's just concentration meditation, speaking of concentration, the buddha talked about two types of meditation, concentration and insight. It's best to be good at both, although you could get completely enlightened without ever concentrating. Kriya is a more concentration type practice, it helps quiet the mind and get you focused. My self inquiry practice would be shit without kriya compared to what it is with kriya. @OmniYoga kriya bow is meant to build you up to two minutes, it'll take time to get there. I'm doing it right now and am a little under 1 minute. yes do the chakras and chanting, that's the exercise. If you don't like chakras then think of them as parts of your body, and think of chanting om as just a form of concentration. Also I reach for water like every 10 minutes during shamanic breathing, works fine for me. get some daily pranayama's going -
do whatever it takes to cut that shit out, it's worth it so much

wow that reminds me of osho so much I hope they can sort the wheat (genuinely good teachings) from the chaff (what made rajneeshes go bad)

I'm in like 40 girls's friend zones. I have a ton of female friends that I get along great with, say hi to and hang out with in classes. I asked one girl on a date recently and got awkwardly turned down. (she said to snap chat her but never answered the question). I'm kind of having a mid life crisis because I haven't had sex in a year and I'm a horny teenager. What I notice happening is that I'll meet an attractive girl through my female friends, talk with them and get along and then I'm their friend, I always fail to make a move, which I don't do because I don't wanna develop a reputation as someone who does that all the time in a small place like high school.

I do know some that are, I tend to be pretty picky though. I don't think picking up hobbies is the solution.

Those are the names of standardized tests which determine getting into college, scholarships too. I was going to just take a basic nootropic stack, as I don't want to risk taking modafinil a lot because I'm worried it would be unhealthy. Should I order modafinil for those tests? they are very important. Would modafinil help with doing questions in a short ammount of time, creative problem solving, & short term memory? Would this be kinda fucked up if it gives me an advantage?

I've just been doing self inquiry constantly every free moment and I feel stuck too, the more I do it the less I know what to do -

I did it for the first time today, and I agree, I love it. makes the routine longer but it's worth it. maha mudra felt way clearer and slower(breathing). @BuddhaTree absolutely, KSR is good for techs but not much beyond. @herghly half open, when I did it I could barely see because they were pointed up, so not much need to close them. -

@Mart Use kriya bow to build up to being able to do kriya supreme fire, santata gamana's secret power of kriya yoga has instructions also I'm no expert but be careful mixing wim hof with kriya, I wouldn't do it. @MM1988 comprehensive instriuctions, basic theory. You might get some results just doing basic practices. Gamana's books are likely gonna make no sense if you have no basic theory. Question time(just started reading gamana today): Stevens says only to do yoni mudra at night, gamana doesn't specify. Is Stevens full of shit on this one? bc I do kriya a half hour after waking up. Gamana says to sit cross legged, I can't(bad knees). Is it okay to do it in a chair straight back no backrest good posture. -

how long are you guys able to do it for? I've done it about 15 times and still haven't gotten past 30 minutes. This morning I only got to 20 because I started feeling really nauseous. -
when I drink coffee I shit 2 to 4 times over the next few hours and it hurts. Green tea is enough caffeine if I need it (most of the time I go decaf), so I drink that every morning instead since it doesn't fuck up my digestive system and is healthy.

I've done hella research and can't figure this one out either. I've just continued it because research has shown win hof is extremely helpful(which is basically shorter duration and with pauses where you don't breath. -

man I haven't read this whole thread but I just gotta say you should be very careful.(and maybe not do it) Take into consideration that whatever you say will be open for interpretation and most people(almost all) will not hear close to what you're trying to say. Look at contemporary culture. Are you trying to teach turquoise to orange?, it won't work. I'm in highschool too (Junior), and I never talk about spirituality, except my friends know I meditate. I am very cautious that people would take it so wrongly, but it might just be some fears I have taking it out of proportion. -
