  5. @Rilles that's about marketability, not so much about music itself First create music that you like. Then look for market and commercial compatibility. Having a good social network helps in selling your art in better places. I agree that it's saturated. But so is literally everything else. Try your luck but don't invest too much money or time. Try many things so you have better chances of hitting a jackpot.

  8. Are you kidding me? Music can move mountains. Music has the power where language fails. It's the language of the Gods. Everyone understands music even if they don't understand lyrics.
  9. Let's not subtly shame people with mental health issues. Everyone is a part of this environment. Just like people browse the forum for health or sexual issues, they browse the forum for mental issues as well. There is a section dedicated to it. Why should we segregate anyone with mental illness? Plus there is a correlation between mental health, emotional health and spiritual health. These are all tied and interconnected. How can you be sure that a person who is struggling with mental illness cannot have spiritual struggles? Maybe they are struggling on both sides. Often times spiritual advice might help in changing perspectives which in turn has a huge impact on mental health. I've seen countless people state how their spirituality and meditation reduced their mental health symptoms significantly. Whatever works, works. What if therapy doesn't work for them? How can you know if spiritual matters are not at the core of their mental crises? Often mental health issues could arise because a person is stuck in low consciousness paradigm like unable to accept reality or distracting themselves with video games or having dangerous mindsets. Spirituality can abort their paradigms and give them clarity on reality and help them understand things better. And let's not forget the big title of the forum. It's not meditation. Org. It's called Actualized. Org which means actualizing oneself and that involves physical, emotional, spiritual and of course mental health as well. Leo has videos on depression. Some of the advice people give here is far better than what a traditional or conventional psychologist has to offer. The thing is our overall health is holistic - it involves every aspect of our lives, none is separate from the other. If you don't see the interconnectedness between spiritual health and emotional, psychological and mental health, then you have a very narrow misguided view of spirituality itself.

  13. It's only a surface level enjoyment when you simply look at it. True enjoyment lies in studying and uncovering the mechanisms of infinite intelligence. Seeing its workings. It's like you feel good when you look at a cake. But how about baking a cake yourself?wouldn't you enjoy that even more?

  16. The constant need for distraction and lack of focus is also because of PTSD. It's a coping mechanism. However this coping mechanism is equally unhealthy. Because it takes your mind away from " useful purposes. " It's similar to using drugs for coping or emotional food. Such coping mechanisms need to be slowly controlled and eliminated (at least delimited if not eliminated ) and replaced with positive coping mechanisms that bring progress in life and improve health. The unhealthy coping mechanisms add additional layers of damage to your system that is already damaged by the trauma/stress. So overall more damage for a little bit of temporary relief. Thus the unhealthy coping mechanisms become another trap or rabbit hole. These mechanisms should be avoided or limited. Useful purposes = are things that you need to be doing but aren't doing.

  18. Pre-preparation before trigger arousal. Getting armored by adequate preparation. What's systematic Decompression . This involves isolation, rehab, keeping away from possible triggers, freezing the system, no work nothing, complete freeze and decompress, standstill, repeated decompressing, complete clean up, not allowing the machine or system yo be used by anything or anyone. Imagine a machine that is being used by everyone. It gets overheated and it still being used to the point of exhaustion. The machine is not allowed any rest or cleaning. The machine can go out of use anytime. This is what happens in PTSD. The stress builds up leading to intense frustration and lack of focus and scatter brain leading to restlessness, anxiety, overt distraction, constant hyper activity, abnormal coping methods and eventual mental breakdown. Complete burnout and years of buildup of stress creating a thick layer of dirt in the mind leading the mind to feel jammed and slow all the time the way a machine gets jammed because of dirt. The solution is decompression. The machine should not longer be allowed to be used. So it should be placed in a room or chamber (the person should be kept away from the environment or stressor. ) and then the machine needs to be kept in a frozen state so the heat dissipates. (The person should refrain from stimulation and from any stress to allow space for the brain /mind to heal and cool down, it's an overheated machine, in an overheated over stimulated and over stressed state, the mind is likely to flare up and continue in the irritated state and then look for distraction to cope with the irritation. So it needs space (staying away from something )and isolation to cool down completely. And then the cleaning of the machine should start. This means that the mind has to be cleaned of accumulated stresses and wounds. The accumulated stress is like dirt in the machine. The machine needs thorough cleaning. The mind needs thorough cleansing. How to achieve cleansing Relax the mind Vent stuff Make it happy Take care of it like you take care of a baby Remove negativity. Replace with positivity Slowly cultivate a garden but also a fortress to protect itself from future attacks Rewire and reprogram the brain Feel all the negative emotions coming up up up. These negative emotions and general irritation is the dirt. Keep the mind empty. One way of removing dirt. Feel the negative emotions. Transcendental meditation. Observe negative emotions like irritation.. Before reacting, just hold back and feel the irritation. Slowly detach yourself from this state of irritation or irritated feeling. Now let it pass. Let it go. Let this dirt go. You're cleaning your mind by letting go this negative emotion that just popped up. Now there is a problem here. The state of mind that you should hold at any time should be like a completely cleaned machine You want to keep your mind clean (like a clean vessel or pan ) so that you can use it (vessel )again for useful purposes like cooking. If it's dirty then you cannot use it for cooking. You want to keep your mind clean so that you can use this clean mind for useful purposes like being focused on your goals, life path and trajectory.. An unclean I mind cannot be used for useful important goals since its in a state of agitation, lack of creativity, decay, irritation, reactivity, mess. Such a mind is not equipped or simply incapable of working on the project of life. It's a messy mind trapped and engulfed in distress. This mind needs cleaning extensively because it's in an unclean state . ...... To be continued.

  21. Systematic decompression of stress. What does this mean. It means extreme stress therapy. Freezing the system to avoid overheating and burnout and cure long term damage. Factory reset mode. Overhaul. Treat your body like a universe.

  23. Thank you for your help. I have tried meds for two years before. They messed up pretty bad. Right now I'm on a beta blocker although I don't like it that much. Ive been off anti depressants since past 3 years and I feel amazing in terms of a sense of control. I became too suicidal on anti depressants with no sense of control on my imagination. They made me groggy, weight issues and the withdrawals were panic inducing. I became dependent on them very quickly. So I came off them and tapered them off and happy to never want them again I've a long history of PTSD (anywhere between 3 to 7 years ). This time I decided to approach a psychologist. I told him that I won't take meds no matter what. So he told me that I didn't really need meds if I didn't want to. And suggested me long term psychotherapy. I'm adamant against meds now. I know it works for some, I guess not for me. I am more therapy focused now. I was doing slightly better at the beginning of this month. But I spiraled downwards again when I learned about the Texas power situation. Hopefully if things get slightly better it terms of my environment, I'll be back on my feet. You're very helpful as you seem to know what I'm going through So I will reach out to you privately whenever I want extra help, support and guidance. I hope you'll hang around for me.
