How am I going to go about with this? First I need a plan. A proper plan And then I need to execute this plan Whatever else happens in between will either exist as a periphery of the plan and some of it will be integrated into the plan and some of it will work or go along as it has to. It will be nothing but something useless or distraction. In order to create a proper plan I first need a proper map.. I need to do mapping Mapping will reduce some of the scattered brain and mind blank situation and bring some stability and focus. 3 things - stability, calm and focus are essential to get it done.. So I need a proper map. First step - map Second step - concrete goals and action plans and action steps. Action plans and action steps are different. Actions plans are like chunks of stuff and strategies that need to be implemented in order to attain a goal whereas action steps are direct one by one steps that need to be done as schedule to finish projects. You can always a momentary lull period in between. But then get back to work. First write major goals and components Then reduce major goals and components into chunks of smaller goals.. Definable goals whereas major goals are very vague. Now write your program like a software program consisting of action plans that are now targeting these smaller goals. Below your action plans write action steps.. Third step - execute these steps Fourth step - record and measure progress Fifth step review overall progress and make tweaks and changes Sixth step - rinse and repeat. Repeat all steps as routine

Yea that makes perfect sense. My brain was a bit scattered and that could be one of the reasons why I was simply browsing through random stuff. Now I can tailor it around the 4 components and that would be make it easier Thank you for all your effort it really means a lot.

I often have this predicament where I'm collecting self help material like books, videos, articles, podcast. It's like an ocean out there with self help stuff. Randomly going through this is a very arduous process, not to mention extremely time consuming. Often I watch a video or a read a book and halfway through realize that it's not too useful in my scenario, maybe useful in general or useful to someone else but not useful to me, it's nice to gain that knowledge but it's not specifically applicable to my issues and needs and situations. So it becomes redundant for me and I feel in the end like it was simply a waste of time watching that video or reading that book. I want to avoid this. I want to be able to read/watch devour only that information which is essential and optimized for my general self help needs so I don't feel like I'm investing or wasting too much time reading random self help material. What are some suggestions you can give me so that I'm only consuming more of the essential and useful stuff

Yesterday I asked Leo this question hours ago, Preety_India said: @Leo Gura do you ever have this fear that you have massive amount of unfinished work on your plate and your time is falling short for it My whole life in a nutshell. Quote and if you do, how do you deal with this fear/concern? By reminding myself that my work is just a game and that the real jewel is my state of consciousness. And his response made perfect sense. Work and work and work is only game after all. How much will you keep chasing. It's limited. At the end of the day it is the state of consciousness that matters.

Focus on "You" and "life"

I left the chat. Oh wait a minute, there is no I..

I thought about your answer for the last 30 minutes and I made a few observations A) I always feel scattered brained. Like a blurred picture. B) I always feel blank with any question Despite the difficulty above, I managed to draw a rough skeleton of what I want, my ultimate goals and scheme It's very scattered. This is how it looks Core or spiritual grounding Mastery Glory or growth Great working relationship with God. Love in action Embody love I want to be a hero Make my life an example that others can follow as inspiration I believe that the growth curve in my life should be trapezoidal. It should be start, vigorous growth, plateau and continuation Mastery. Both material mastery and spiritual mastery Glory. I want vigorous spiritual growth in myself.. Like a fountain. Growth and flourishing I want the completion stage of this growth curve to be sustenance -weathering storms, surviving and continuation after vigorous growth phase 4 core components (derived from above ) 1. Mastery and spiritual grounding 2. Growth and productivity 3. Sustenance 4. Embody and spread love

This made a lot of sense. how-to-navigate-through-self-help-material-and-spot-stuff-specifically-tailored What I would do if I were you is to work towards discovering your problems/ challenges and the root solution to them and then figure out which concepts are used in describing the thing you want to change or improve. The same thing goes for if you want to improve on something. For example, if you want to learn how to set boundaries, then google boundaries and look for concepts and resources that are interrelated to that ( For example, inner child, shadow, anima, or whatever). Then when you have identified something which seems helpful to learn more about you, you go into that rabbit hole ( for example, shadow work or whatever) The key is from my experience to find the root solution to a problem, which usually is done through going deeper and deeper into the thing you want to develop, understand or change. In other words, be specific about which problem you want to work on/ improve and then go deeper and deeper into it by going deeper and deeper into concepts that are related to that one thing you want to improve. Hope this helped (:

@SamC thank you.

One way of achieving this is to feel completely free and start from ground zero. The focus should be on 3 key areas You Your life Your environment
-
Yes focus on those 3 things. Core elements. I need to note down motivational stuff.
-
I'd add that there is also the term called creepy nice guys.

Anxiety is due to psychological and neurological issues. There's a problem with neurotransmitters This causes an imbalance in adrenal hormones and you begin to experience higher stress than usual.. Brain begins to resist anything that adds to this stress

I've officially lost all faith in the forum after the dog thread I'm going...... Yikes

I downloaded the note app. It will be useful hopefully.

@intotheblack I'm getting sick.

That statement is one of the worst I've heard so far.

Keep all of it pure.

This is a very good journal for me. I can include a lot of stuff in here. Mainly with self development

I think I agree with you now. Your elaborate explanation makes sense. In a way we make them codependent on us. Making someone codependent is also a form of abuse especially when they cannot communicate how they feel. Well I don't have pets now. I used to as a kid.. So I guess it's a good thing I don't have pets anymore.
-
Treating another human as pet is not the same as petting an animal. Animals need care and affection through petting. Humans need care and affection through relationships and friendships, family and companionships.
-
@Leo Gura are we enslaving plants when we grow plants in garden and take care of these plants and raise them into big trees. Of course not. We are doing the noble service of raising. Same with pets. We take care of pets the way we care for children. Are we enslaving children when we raise them? Raising children and pets and trees is the most noblest purest thing you could do in life
-
But petting is not the same as slaving. Petting is caring and affection and nursing and feeding.
