  1. @kras don't think too much about your channel. Let it evolve naturally.
  2. These days I have been feeling mentally weak and fragile. It could be because of Omicron.
  3. I'm doing better. My coughing has significantly reduced. But I still have inflammation. Sinuses and generally feeling weak. I feel a bit fragile when I walk. I'm drinking juices to cope. Maybe another week of rest might bring down the inflammation.
  4. There are moments where I feel absolutely weak, absolutely fragile.
  5. You might want to hire a vocal coach. It definitely helps. My voice coach helped me with my voice.
  6. In India spirituality is like a business. Well I won't say it's that way everywhere in the country, there are some genuine spiritual gurus who might even offer a lot for free. Others charge a lot. Problem is it's a hot destination. So you'll see a lot of copycat gurus. They see the potential in this business. So they claim to be gurus but it's only for monetary reasons. With so many copycat gurus mushrooming all over, it's hard to differentiate between real and fake. The real ones don't care about money. Whereas the ones who are out to make a business, mimic the styles and structures of the real but charge excessive. You need to be a bit experienced in knowing what is really genuine. It's easy to end up losing a lot of money in this rabbit hole if you're a newbie.
  7. Any case both are quite expensive. Most retreats are expensive.
  8. The coughing has definitely slowed down.
  9. It helps to bring down the temperature.
  10. Like stuffed sinus.
  11. @Tim R should have been berry picking like Hansel and Gretel.
  12. If I stay in a hotel in Hawaii for a week, I would be happy too. But only after burning a hole in my pocket. 10k is a big joke. You can spend that kind of money in India for years (in cheap places) and enjoy much longer retreats.
  13. Also there are no clubs or bars in India where you can socialize. So you're basically screwed. Just have more friends and a huge social circle.
  14. Street approaches don't work in India because most girls think the guy is a pervert. Try building connections and friendships and a wider social circle. That way the girl knows you already through a common friend and you have better prospects. The girl is less likely to reject you. I never heard of street approaches in India. I never had a conversation with a guy on a street.
  15. I was thinking about society in terms of reality. I feel that we often blur the boundaries between society and reality. But they are not disjoint sets. What I mean to say they are not mutually exclusive. They intertwine somewhat and that's what makes it so complicated when we use the social model in life. You can extract that part of society that conforms with reality and discard the part that is not relevant. Of course we need to understand this boundary that exists and be able to differentiate between society and reality. Yet we shouldn't completely discard society because a part of it is connected with reality. And we cannot live life completely disconnected from reality. That is simply not possible. Yet this does not mean that we should rely on society as a model for living because there could be so many things that are wrong in the given social construct. And we don't have to necessarily conform to that. So how do we solve this complexity? By carefully weeding out the irrelevant components of the social matrix but still keeping the part that is significant in terms of reality. Maybe this bigger part of the social matrix is beneficial for the crowd but not beneficial for the individual. When your center of locus is properly defined in terms of individual versus society you'll be able to find a middle ground where they both coincide to give you the greatest benefit you deserve. Often this locus is in the wrong place and this causes a lot of confusion. You are thinking more about others rather than yourself. Or you're thinking too much about yourself that you almost drown out all other perspectives. The bottom line is that you draw a certain boundary where you're not having to compromise/ jeopardize with your own happiness yet you're not being blindsided by denying reality. This way you have the best of both worlds.
  16. @Nahm can you give me a reason why I shouldn't focus on reality?
  17. The bottom line is you can't have effective empirical research without grand effort. And you can't have a near perfect model even with all the grand effort. But you would definitely need something gigantic to at least get realistic results, as close to reality as possible. Otherwise they would mimic the thought experiments of Sam Harris and those would be a disaster!
  18. This doesn't sound realistic to me. If you're talking about empirical research, shouldn't it be something that is more realistic and observable/measurable? You can't imagine parameters by drawing diagrams or computer animation. You need data on hand. This means years of ground research on the field across generations, meaning organizations committed to research over decades and recording phenomena the way they do for animal species or weather phenomena in a place You would need a place like NASA for that.
  19. Sometimes such reviews are paid for and fake. You don't know these people personally.
  20. Can you really give me a real life example of such empirical research? (I don't know how this would be possible, what would your sample look like?)
  21. @Thetruthseeker also please seek medical advice before starting your trips. Look up online for safety precautions before trip. You sometimes need to be medically "clear" to do those trips. Since you already have medical issues.
  22. Yea. I'm not sure if you need that many trips. But in any case the best is to give yourself space and do a few trips till you get there instead of deciding on a fixed number. And that retreat looks like a money pit. Just do a few trips at home. You won't need a retreat for that.
  23. Are you sure you want to do 50 trips at once? That's not healthy. You might want to slow down. You're going at jet speed mate.
