  1. I think the Vedic stance on it (and I could have butchered it pretty badly here) is that the 'soul' is like a seed. Seeds can be stored and thrown around for a very long time and still remain a perfectly viable seed, then oneday when that seed is in the right condition it will start the process of germinating. it means (I think) that if you give it the right conditions in any given lifetime, then it will sprout, but obviously it take a lot of work for that to happen, so it might not actually happen in this life (that's why its always good to start young). But then it is just waiting for the right time in the next life: maybe you only need a little practice and boom. or maybe you still gotta put in 10 years and eventually boom. or maybe its at the point where you don't need to do anything else as its already past that threshold you do no practice and boom. or maybe your just a child and boom. I dunno, its probably all bullshit, but its a different perspective to think about. oh and psychedelics are fertilizers
  2. thanks man, will start doing that!
  3. do you do pranayama? what do you think of it? Some people who study the ancient Ayurveda and other Vedic texts say that it is basically mandatory if you wanna make spiritual progress. But i'm not sure if they are talking more about reaching full human potential, or cutting all the crap and having the 'Big' realization (enlightenment, end of rebirth). Have you read any of the Bihar yoga books on meditation and tantra etc?
  4. thanks for that information. False gurus are the worst, and they will have to face their actions at some point in time (they are criminals, and they are actively leading people away from their birthright of realizing themselves and getting them tangled in so much karma its not funny, which is possibly the greatest crime). Also, a very fitting profile picture
  5. A good tip (I have read), is to put your feet flat on the floor (so your knees are up), that way when you start nodding off, your legs will start falling apart, and it will bring your awareness back. Or you can bend one or both your arms so your upper arm is still on the floor but your hands are vertical, same thing when you nod off your hands will start falling down. Its not the best position for beginners due to the tendancy to fall asleep, but using those tips can help a lot. other than that, meditating laying down is fine
  6. how old are you (or did I miss that?). scientists have concluded that *generally* males develop mental health issues earlier in age, and females tend to develop later in life. so if your a guy, and your concerned about this, then waiting till your mid20s would reduce your chances of developing a mental illness (if you were already destined to get it). But that is just a statistical thing, there are obviously lots of guys who could get sick in their 30s and 40s (which means that they could fast track their illness if they took psyches in their 20s. but even then, its just a possibility. its really a coin toss man, just know that sooo many people have taken them and the amount of people who get sick from them is very very low) Also: Start at low dosage, wait at least a month between another trip (ideally between all your trips), have a good set and setting each and every time. Most people who claim to have gotten sick from them seem to either take too much, too often, and/or in wrong settings (partying).
  7. guru is more like a death coach lol. totally opposite imo (tho gurus can also play the life coach for those that are still 'of the world', but that is only because they don't force natural evolution, if someone isn't ready for death coaching then so be it. but all that life you were coached on will still have to come to an end sometime..)
  8. I keep wanting to go with sadhguru, but I keep reading shit like he's just giving you some cool states while secretly snatching your soul(?) like, gurus are supposed to be happy sitting in a small cave away from the world, but sadhguru is a blood billionare, and why does he talk so much about politics? and he's even been accused of murdering his wife! don't take this as anything, I hope people can prove me wrong (but how could you know if such a powerful person has cast a soul snare on you?). also, lately he seems to talk a lot about things he obviously has little knowledge about (eg, buddhism), and he talks about shiva being an actual person who lived 15k years ago, when shiva is (as all hindu gods) supposed to be a cosmic allegory. also, there is sexual allegations made a lot towards the isha group, and at the very least there is people saying that the 'higher ups' are very cultish. I know its not sadhguru himself, but surely if these people have obviously been very involved with sadhgurus programs, then how could they behave in such a way. are they not getting the claimed benefits from his programs? its all so confusing for me. Again, i'm not dogging on sadhguru. at least every few weeks I end up wanting to do his courses (but keep coming back to the issues I stated) and changing my mind.
  9. also. they promote some emf protection pendant, the bioelectric shield, and if you google the name of it, the second result is a ncbi study that says it was a placebo also, the girl looks like she pumped her lips with filler lol. a bit egoic right?
  10. why don't you ask them about it? I also gotta say, their website looks sooo new-agey I don't know how to think of their services as legit (but I haven't had any experience so of course that's just me being a judgemental bitch lol). Why hasn't anybody done a LOC ranking of various psychedelics? (I don't know much about the LOC stuff, but I remember that pretty much anybody can do it by some muscle testing thingy?)
  11. more attention usually means bigger ego! having no attention from other people can be a blessing for people into consciousness work. think about the deep spiritual impressions (karma, samskaras) you get from a lifetime of having your ego stroked. Imagine brad pitt breaking through on dmt, lmao he'd be screaming so hard
  12. I think that's why so many gurus have sex scandals. all the girls dripping around them all the time just starts to take its toll on you until you find yourself tempted, then one thing leads to the other. the power of the pussy can literally tempt a man to leave gods side!
  13. who cares man, it just means when they die they will leave a slightly larger pile of bone dust behind
  14. i still think that a historical jesus did exist, and that he was basically an enlightened being like many other yogis (I've read it said that during the bible time jesus was in a 'solar' phase of his enlightenement eg. still trying to fix the external world as many of the young and fiery yogis do , but after he left or whatever then he resumed his buddhist study and naturally transitioned into the 'lunar' phase eg. witness it all as it is with no trying to change it) But obviously, the bible can be interpereted in your way as well, in fact its probably what jesus would have wanted most of all (instead of what Christianity actually became). the ultimate pointer to the self (?)
  15. just do seiza position with a meditation bench, folded towel under knees, and rolled up towel under your ankles. you could stay like that for hours. if the zen masters sat on rocks for the suffering, why not sit on a cactus instead?
  16. thats why achieving liberation is so imporatant for us to do now. If we have been born into a situation where we are able to waste time on the internet and watch tv, then it is imperative that we strive for liberation, because who knows what your next situation will be (you could have 100 whole lifetimes where the only thing your thinking of is your next meal so you don't die, or being someones slave, or having severe disabilities, or just otherwise really stressful life situations).
  17. i think the first method is called tatraka. Ideally get upto 7 minutes (30 if your crazy lol) with no blinking. You can look at a candle or OM symbol (it is said you have to be very careful what you chose to gaze at during this as it leaves a deep impression in your subconscious). You can also do mental (or I guess out loud chanting as well?) when your eyes start hurting. focus on the object and the japa. and you don't wanna be thinking just "fuck fuck fuck fuck" when your eyes are hurting, that is defeating the purpose. do what you can I would also say, if you wash your eyes like that, you should try and use filtered water as i'm sure the chlorine would be very irritating and go against the purpose of what your trying to achieve
  18. i think the reason for sky burials and cremations etc is to 'destroy' the body as quickly as possible so the 'soul' does not cling to the body for so long. I read that the decrease in human conciusness came about when we started burying our bodies, because the souls are bound to the heavy earthly energies. and after so many millions of people getting buried, the bound energy is causing serious problems for the world. apparently In traditional india, when they cremate the body, they listen for a distinct pop sound in the skull, they believe this shoots some frequency wave or someshit that sends the soul further to higher frequency realms. and if the pop isn't heard then the eldest son must take a stick and literally smash the top of the skull. And if this isn't done, then you can perform a ritual by smashing a coconut with strong intentions. (apparently this isn't necessary if you are fully realized, which only a few ever would be) donno if that's legit or what, but somethings to think about. I don't think the ancient Vedic texts ever mention burying people when they die, and there would be a good reason for that I assume
  19. lmao, so highly advanced Burmese buddhist meditation is basically going to sleep at will (with no dreams). Cool achievement wtf you wanna experience the oblivion during life if you gonna get to spend the rest of eternity in it in 30-50 years anyway? fucking weirdos, there I said it lol.
  20. btw, if anyone wants to read more about what other 'masters' have to say re psychedelics, the book Zig Zag Zen is apparently very good (I hven't read it but its on my list). but I think it basically ended up 50/50 on whether they're useful or not
  21. I have often thought that psychedelics could be the ultimate bodhisattvas. That a (psychedelic) molecule is the ultimate embodiment of a particular being who has chosen to become that molecule to reach as many other beings as possible. Maybe that's why its so common for people to report similar 'spirits' of specific plants etc. Each molecule has something different to share (they say each of the human bodhisattvas embody a different dominating quality) what better way to teach people, than plugging directly into their brain lol! (more effective than sitting in front of a well meaning guru and listening to words!) ^but that doesn't mean we should take them all the time. remember, we can't do the real work if we are constantly in class getting bombarded with info. We should take the lesson, do our homework, and return for the next one when we have understood the first lesson completely!
  22. what happens in that course? is that the one where your life goes in fastforward motion? sorry I couldn't be bothered googling lol
  23. I've heard lots of yogis say that its (enlightenment, realization, liberation etc...) is everybodies birthright or that it is the 'only thing that matters', and that everybody should strive for it. so I guess that means everybody is eligible lol. I think the real question is how far along are you (and if you aren't very far, is that an excuse for not doing any work at all in this lifetime? eg. the ultimate procrastination lol). we all know about the few who have crazy awakenings at young age or after only a little bit of consciousness work, and that some spend their whole lives and still didn't get what those others got. you just gotta start somewhere tho
  24. its just like the military, what is being released today is already obsolete to the global elite.
