Being mature person is much better than being an enlightenmened person, though enlightenment does make being mature easier. It all comes down to what you want. You can do anything you want, but what do you actually want to do? As you become more mature, your quality of wants will also mature. Do what needs to be done, and desire what you truly wish to desire. -

Enlightenment is not exactly a choice. Enlightenment is pursued for truth's sake. If someone pursues enlightenment for their uses or wondering how much "free will" they have, then they are not serious. Why waste your energy on a pursuit you won't get results from, unless you are serious about it. When the time is right, enlightenment will become the only choice, otherwise imo, it's just a distraction from life. -

Wow, it's the same thing. Reality is an illusion because everything is One. Non dual awareness is enlightenment itself. -

@Widdle Puppy if you are asking this question, then yes -

Thats because it doesn't work like that. You are consciousness(your true nature) itself, including everything as part of you. Who is being aware of who? This where the truth part comes in, dissolve your ego and beliefs to such an extent that Truth is the only thing left. i.e You are it(consciousness). Abiding Non Dual Awareness. @Nahm @Viking Thanks -

All of the above really, Absolute truth is omnipresent, so everything has to be One. Infinity is more like a negation finity in finity terms. Ill just post an excerpt from my book Non Duality Explained Non dual literally means ‘not two’ or that no two truths can exist. It is based on two assumptions:- Objective knowledge isn’t possible as reality that we experience is constantly changing Reality as we know it is One not two Thus, There is Only One Truth and that Truth is All Non Duality Derived We can’t say that truth does not exist, as it would amount to a logical contradiction. To say that truth does not exist is a self nullifying statement. So we conclude that TRUTH exists. Lets classify Truth with a capital ’T’ as something of which we can be absolutely certain. So Truth is something that is: Not subject to change Makes one absolutely certain of it Thus, Qualities of something Absolutely True must be not be subjected to any duality It must be : Timeless Omnipresent Impersonal Constant and Unchanging Not subjected to any limitations i.e Infinite False never existed, Only Truth exists so it contains everything There can’t be two absolute truths so Absolute Truth is not subjected to any duality Now we have to say that something exists for sure, lets call it Consciousness If absolute truth is everything, And Consciousness exists Consciousness is everything What is Self There are two types of self: Self with a capital “S” and self with a lower “s” ’S'elf is your true self whereas ’s'elf is your conceptual self. The conceptual self includes: Your memories Beliefs Assumptions Associations The True Self includes: Everything that is left when the conceptual self is removed or we can say simply Being Thus if Consciousness is everything You experience that consciousness through your true self Thus comes the saying Tat Tvam Asi ( You are it ) -

None, thats the thing with consciousness paradigm, there are no arguments against it. Edit: Oops I read the question wrong, I thought the question was arguments against consciousness paradigm I think the biggest problem with materialist paradigm is plurality. No Absolute Truth. -

No I don't, it will take me a quit alot of time to explain every projection and assumption you are making. I'm not bothered enough to write such a thing. Atleast you didn't take it personally which is the only good thing. -
Saumaya replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Sadhguru works for a lot of issues for society, and that's great. He has a lot of good things to say on some issues as well. When it comes to enlightenment though, I will never recommend Sadhguru. That's fine though, I don't think he would also like to categorize himself as an only a enlightenment teacher. Also a lot of issues that @Shanmugam mention are valid criticisms as well imo. -
Saumaya replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Had the similar experience with the book. After that I stopped reading or watching Sadhguru pretty much -

There is no such thing as spiritual person per say. A person cannot be "spiritual". Spirituality would mean you transcend your personality, not making a identity out of your personality. PS: Some flowers are always good -

Saumaya replied to pluto's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If people keep contradicting each other in this matter, its best to trust your own direct experience when you have glimpses or mystical insights of enlightenment. I think everyone agrees that direct experience is king. -
Saumaya replied to pluto's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
for example? I d say avoid anything that says enlightenment is this or that and focus on finding your true nature. When you are enlightened, you can verify everything yourself. -
Saumaya replied to pluto's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Enlightenment is your natural state. It gives you true happiness which is unconditional contentment and helps you truly appreciate life. A life living of a false self which is not real only gives psychological security, not happiness. Enlightenment is not a choice, those who are ready will eventually get enlightened at some point. From what I ve been reading from your posts, you might not be ready. You are probably thinking enlightenment is anti life and outside of consciousness, but thats not true, its realising you are consciousness itself. I think you underestimate the role of grace in enlightenment. Anyway not everyone needs to be enlightened and its fine. Its only when the self imposed limits on your freedom cannot be held on, one becomes ready for enlightenment. -

These beliefs like I am doing something wrong or something is wrong with me are what I am taking about. You can't do something wrong neither can someone be inherently wrong. To know that the life that you are leading is not upto your expectations, you try to improve it. That's all. As jed McKenna says, the belief that something is wrong is the fire under people's ass that people run on. -
Saumaya replied to MarkusSweden's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I don't think calling yourself pathetic or negative self talk has anything to do with spirituality. I think it can be a subtle belief like thinking you are defective or damaged, or something is wrong with you, or you need to live up to idealistic spiritual ideals. You might want to look into your inner issues more than spiritually for that. -
