well there hasn't been anymore Abrahamic messengers of God as influential as Muhammad since, so he hasn't been proven wrong. -

Rumi is awesome! If you can read his work in Persian or even in arabic, then try to as the translation could be better... I do not know, but if it is not your first language then the English translation is just inspiring and well-written. https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Rumi-reissue-New-Expanded-ebook/dp/B003V1WUNA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1544557499&sr=8-4&keywords=rumi Honestly, for now, I say go ahead and do research on sufism, its a fascinating movement. I spent a large chunk of my time researching about my heritage (Portugal) and cultural beliefs (Catholicism) to get a deeper understanding, I think its all great. a great introduction to sufism: -
I just found those studies yesterday, so I'm slowly going through them as well. The thread inspired me to be do more research on nutrition. In addition, the main reason why I posted it is that I notice, in general, vegans largely use science to back up their lifestyle. So I just wanted to show that there is a case for animal products. I do not think the answer is to blindly follow what a study says tho. I think self-experimentation is a more accurate way to know what is healthy for each person, looking at one's genes, the culture behind it, and staying open minded. . that is interesting! In general, I think the study illustrates how important creatine can be for mind-body performance.

Terence McKenna recommended singing as a way to uplift yourself from a negative space. I honestly use my guitar as a way to soothe myself, something to fidget with, and I like making sounds, keeps me grounded in a way... sometimes humming along, letting my inner creativity bloom. This naturally stops thoughts and pulls you in deeper. So find what that thing is for you.

it can be your diet. what you consume can drastically effect your mood, even in subtle ways. did you know that "it is estimated that 90 percent of the body's serotonin is made in the digestive tract." http://www.caltech.edu/news/microbes-help-produce-serotonin-gut-46495 Make sure you take care of the psychological stuff too, like positive self-talk and getting some exercise, even if its just walking. It always makes me feel better.

I found some evidence to back up the claims. "Why you won't get vitamin A from carrots". https://empoweredsustenance.com/true-vitamin-a-foods/ I also found this long list, on a description of one of sv3rige's videos.

psychoanalysis is not a logical analysis, its like trying to understand present issues from the past, our relationship and experiences in early childhood, our parents, etc. Its an approach that is opposite from the conventional therapy model which majority of the time is cognitive-behavioral therapy. They attack the issues differently. ---- I'd say those thoughts are part of the path in a way. Eventually, you just get tired of judging others, the act itself becomes counterproductive to your growth. Partly because whenever you judge someone, you are forcing them into a box, and human beings are much more complex and everyone has such a personal journey that other people do not consider because they are not that person. Thus I feel more humility and understanding behind why everything is the way it is. In addition, do not mistake (occasionally I do), judging anything or any person is essentially judging reality, and reality is perfect, it is the ego that needs to condemn. This doesn't mean you don't give any criticisms, but our approach to creating growth in others needs to be considerate. Since we naturally think in a lens, we have to open our lens and allow for more complexities in our models of reality. -
LOL. very accurate. Is that what people refer to as thought loops? Those things are harmless, its just like your unconscious to-do list fighting for your attention. Honestly a repetition of a thought or a phrase, is just mantra meditation, which may explain the ego death like experience.

Part of me wants to troll you, but I won't. No this is not a cult because there is no coercion or requirements to be a part of this forum. You can leave anytime you want, theres no secret knowledge, not really any hierarchies besides moderators, Leo, and of course as a community we voluntarily focus on notable people on this forum because of the wisdom in their previous posts. OF COURSE, if you do not buy into non-dualism, the techniques, and overall philosophy, or at least consider it with an open mind like the majority of us in here, and you come on this forum to intentionally be disruptive and act like close-minded ass, then you get banned. Not because it's a cult, but because as a community we find those individuals annoying, disrespectful, close-minded, and misinformed. In the same way you'll get kicked out of a university lecture if you walk in there acting like an arrogant ass. You're gonna have to find out for yourself if this community is for you, knowing the difference between a passionate group and cult definitely requires some subtle distinctions. Here are some videos about cults that can help you decide whether you think this community is anything like it. Which to me, it absolutely is not, but don't take my word for it.

In a sense, you are correct, but ultimately... In my experience, relationships are the best thing life has to offer. Life is relationships. We have a relationship with everything in the world, even with ourselves. No offense, but I feel that a lot of your motivations for relationships comes from fear and ego. Relationships should essentially be about giving, sharing, understanding, and bonding - sharing experiences together. and during the last moments of your life, what will you really want to do? Be alone? or will you long to tell everyone you've met how much you love them and appreciate the impact they had on your life? Still, one should make the distinction between a fulfilling relationship and a relationship that stunts one's growth.

if he's for real, 300ug is quite a bit, for a first timer at least. 300ug would definitely be a moderate-strong area dose. I always recommend first time users take a 100-150ug, that's usually one tab. My favorite thing to do is to play my guitar if Im feeling creative. But I've enjoyed doing many things on LSD like listen to music, be in silence, color/paint/draw, take walks, contemplation, daily living stuff even like bathing. I just love the self-exploration and self-reflection. I draw all kinds of connection between everything I do. -

I guess nothing because there is no change. just a realization... and it has nothing to do with the brain, cause you're not the idea of a brain.. -
turn off the mental chatterbox. once you realize the cons in thinking like that or that kind of self talk, it stops. It helps to adopt newer perspectives of decision making, failure, success, and one's relationship to the world. More positive dialogues within yourself. I recommend reading some self-help books, meditation, therapy and of course psychedelics. Anything that creates self-reflection.

sounds about right haha. What's crazy is that each trip is pretty different especially when you take into account set and setting. So the following time will have its own themes and personal insights! enjoy! -

yeah man. I first tried psychedelics before I even got into meditation or any of this work. All you need is self-acceptance, some self-control, and don't make any rash decisions. experience it fully and enjoy. -
That's where I feel like I am heading, towards a plant-based diet but with servings of meat or fish. I am not sure if vegan is rigid doctrine, it is more of an ethical concern about hurting animals, so I understand. However, I am starting to feel that killing fish or animal may be necessary for nutrients that create optimal health.
-
I think you're right with keeping things simple. and I agree with the general idea of the article, that gut absorption is more important than taking massive doses of b12. I feel that the author's idea of a meat-eater does not match mine though, a meat eater to me is not just the average American. When I think of a meat eaters I think of the inuits, sv3rige, Aajonus Vonderplanitz or the Maasai people.

I'm not really sure what all of those nutrients mean either, besides the basic ones. I believe creatine in meat may be why I felt "stronger". Eating plant based, when I went to the gym, I was still able to lift the same weight, but it felt harder sometimes. At the same time, I felt lighter and perhaps like I had more energy for endurance. I am also not a nutrition expert so I can't answer all of the questions. From what I understand, vitamin D can come from animals especially if you eat it raw. b12 is made in soil, but more is also made within a cow's gut.. Animal bacteria from a healthy animal improves immune system and creates a healthy microbiome. I am not sure that cholesterol is the problem. The Standard American diet, is also filled with processed foods, simple sugars, grains, and not much vegetables or fruits besides your good ol' lettuce and tomatoes. Animals should not be pumped with antibiotics or growth hormones. They should grow up in a healthy environment with space, food, and conscious responsible owners. Eating their natural foods as much as possible. Mcdonald for example does not serve grass-fed beef. Also consider that vitamin A in carrots/plants are different than vitamin A found in liver. https://empoweredsustenance.com/true-vitamin-a-foods/ Overall, I feel like there are nutrients in meat and fish, I can't get from plants. And there isn't strong evidence that meat when eaten with a responsible lifestyle is bad for you. From my perspective, I see strong evidence that meat/fish is good and perhaps even necessary for optimal health. I am not saying, I won't ever try a vegetarian/vegan diet again though. I still feel like I'm in an experimental stage. I think there needs to be more studies on the vegan diet. Here is an interesting video: Edit: I should mention that I have seen all the big vegan documentaries, besides earthlings..., watched various vegan youtubers like Mic the Vegan, Simnett nutrition, Jon Venus, Earthling Ed, and more.

SgtPepper replied to Timotheus's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
man, that is such a good insight. Good question. Obviously, Joseph Maynor said that, but I think there are beliefs and models that are complex, so they do not appear linear and also appear more believable as a result, but ultimately it is belief and Truth is experience, not beliefs. Not even complex beliefs will fully capture Truth. In addition, Maynor may have been pointing to the fact that when you really look at all beliefs in comparison to absolute truth, all beliefs appear linear in comparison haha. -
I feel for all suffering.
-
SgtPepper replied to Timotheus's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
all beliefs are linear, since they are self-defining and self-limiting, and reality is anything but that. -
I was going to mention that too. I believe it! Its more about being authentic, knowing who you are, what you want, and having the balls to make it happen. Women want men who are true to themselves. @Shiva Got it right too. My original comment is more towards the guys who living in the parents basement, playing video games all day, not applying themselves, not growing themselves, and then get mad and wonder why they can't get girls. It's mind boggling from my perspective. Honestly, my issues with girls went away after I stopped focusing on them for validation, focused on myself, and just stopped caring whether I'd find a relationship or not.
-
does that include fish and mussels? Here is a list from the video I posted before. and an online source: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/7-nutrients-you-cant-get-from-plants#section2 your experience in blood values is exactly why I don't believe in the anti-nutrients rhetoric.

I also eat organ meats when my parents cook them (I still live with my parents). This includes chicken liver and kidney. In Portugal, (my heritage) we make a soup called "canja" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canja_de_galinha Absolutely delicious, but it is often made with chicken organs as well. We also make rice with chicken blood, that is also good. blood sausages as well https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_sausage. When I was younger, my family would make a trip to a local farm and we would get fresh meat. I would see my mother and aunt create the blood sausage from scratch. I am definitely fortunate enough to grow up with an authentic European background (I am a first generation American). Most westerns I know, have never eaten any organ foods and they find it to be off-putting. Personally, I also like a high fat diet as well. Again, I still find a lot of benefits from eating broccoli, leafy greens, fruits, nuts, legumes, and seeds. I am not sure how accurate the whole "anti-nutrients" argument is. Fruits are an excellent source of natural energy and plants help with digestion and satiety, in my experience. ------------------ It's also important to understand one's motivation behind one's diet. A lot of vegans are motivated from an ethical perspective. I am and always was motivated from a health perspective, soooo yeah I love animals, especially horsies (I don't eat horses), but I am not willing to sacrifice my health. Factory farming is still an abomination.
