But we warned that electing an authoritarian will lead to political violence, which is exactly what happened and will continue to happen. The right cannot elect authoritarians and then act surprised that violence follows. Trump has been stoking division and violence from day one, for 10 years. And Kirk was all for that kind of politics. You can't elect leaders like Hitler and Mussolini and then act surprised when violence follows. When you elect fascists the only way to get rid of them in the end is with violence. Which is why electing them in the first place is wrong. Yes, in the end the left will resort to violence to end tyranny. That's not a mistake, that's how this works. Right-wingers are just too selfish and ignorant to understand that. If Trump keeps going down the road he's going there will be a lot more violence because people do not sit nicely by while you abuse them, dehumanize them, and take away their freedoms. The error of right-wingers is they think they can dehumanize others without grave consequences to yourselves. That is the narcissism of people like Charlie Kirk. He thought he could go around dehumanizing and oppressing minorities without it backfiring on him. If you dehumanize anyone long enough, you will live to regret it. To expect otherwise is dumb. The problem is that fans of Charlie Kirk are not conscious enough to understand that he made a career out of dehumanizing fellow citizens. So they act shocked and outraged when he gets natural blowback, like Kirk was just this sweet innocent guy. Kirk was a key architect and cheerleader for a politics of dehumanization. This is what the right at large is in denial about and blind to.

It is a classic trope that fascists believe empathy is weak and gay. Don't act otherwise. Fascists attack and mock empathy. There is nothing new in this worldview. That's exactly what Kirk's worldview believed. Which is why he wanted kids to watch televised executions and why he mocked the Paul Pelosi attack. Kirk didn't believe in empathy because he was incapable of it, and the same for his king, Trump. Kirk wanted a president with no empathy. He got it.

Kirk would have wanted it this way. Afterall, empathy is for losers.

Objectively, there has never been a more corrupt, dishonest, unfit, criminal, and authoritarian president in American history. Banning guns in USA is simply impossible. But raising the age to own is possible and reasonable.

But guns are much rarer than USA so it is acceptable. USA needs stricter rules because guns are too available.

Because there are zero penalties for parents giving guns to their kids. This is part of the sick gun culture where kids are just allowed to grab guns from around the house. That's a huge part of this issue which needs fixing. Parents need to be told that if they leave their guns unlocked to their kids, the parents will be imprisoned for manslaughter.

Does not matter. Anyone under 25 is not mature enough to own a gun. People under 25 can't even rent cars. Because rental companies know they are too immature to be trusted.

It's not fool-proof but it would reduce shootings by like 70%. I'll take 70% over 0% reduction in deaths of kids.

No one is even taking about how his parents gave him the rifle. Most of these shootings could be stopped if we raised the legal age to own a gun to like 25 and charged parents for giving their kids guns. People below age 25 are too immature to own guns.

Not everything is supposed to make sense to you because you are not in a position to have all the facts. This isn't cause for conspiracy thinking, this is normal and expected. You guys expect a murder case to be transparent to you within mere days. That is silly. Murders take months to solve and lay out in trial. Relax. The shooter has confessed multiple times to multiple people. He was no criminal mastermind, just a foolish kid and a skilled shooter.
