That's gonna be hard. Teaching him Spiral Dynamics or stages of ego development might be a good intervention point. But ultimately you gotta teach him epistemology. He needs to start to see how his mind is inventing narratives and worldviews, and how to distinguish belief and ideology from direct experience and contemplative insights.

@Roy There's a transition zone between Red and Blue where people profess that they have "found the Lord" but then they still struggle to let go of their Red bad habits, "wickedness", and "sin". Blue religion can be a nice cover for the ego to commit sin and they pray it way the next day. Such people can be genuinely guilt-ridden, but still run by many old bad habits. They are trying their best, but that's not usually enough. There is a transition zone between every stage.

Sam Harris' atheism, scientism, and rationalism has really trapped his mind. Sam is a really bad example of how to do spirituality. Spirituality cannot work like that, it requires deconstructing your whole conception of reality. You can't just meditate. That's not enough. You have to seriously question. One of the most important things I have to teach those of you who are serious about Awakening is how many degrees of it there are. No spiritual teacher has taught you this. They have reduced Awakening to a single state of consciousness. This an enormous mistake. True Awakening is extraordianry, special, magical, and outrageous. It will not leave you disappointed, so don't worry about that. If you want to see what Consciousness is capable of, you need psychedelics.

That's because understanding socio-political issues requires really good epistemology, to cut through all the bias.

That's good, but there are still degrees of no-self realization. No-self is still pretty profound. It is not to be poo-pooed. A) Much of mainstream nonduality is shallow Neo-Advaita stuff. B) Just because Sam is familiar with Maharshi does not mean he understands the depth of what Maharshi was talking about. Maharshi had some serious God-Realization going on. It wasn't just some tepid no-self insight. You need to be careful to distinguish all these different teachers. Some of them are shallow, some of them are deep. Rest assured there is a lot more for you to become conscious of and awaken to. The really good stuff is way ahead for you. Serious Awakening is very special. It's not some tepid insight. No book will convey to you how special it gets.

Rest assured that your hope is not misplaced. Sam Harris is a fool and has no idea what Awakening is. So in that respect you are right. However a guy like Maharashi is saying something extremely profound. It's not an issue of no-self, it's an issue of realizing that you are God. If you want to understand what you're missing, try some 5-MeO-DMT. P.S. You are also not conscious of the insight of no-self. You have to be very careful with turning these things into concepts, which is the stage you're at.

Every major institution will have corruption issues, and they will be greatest in areas where survival is most at stake. It's precisely because policing is so rough that corruption is common. Of course corruption needs to be tackled. But this ironically requires better funding of police. The worse you fund them, the more pressure they will have to be corrupt.

You probably need to find a private doctor. This will not be covered by insurance. You can find private doctors who special in holistic medicine, functional medicine, and alternative types of medicine. Such doctors are very common in the US. Not sure about Philippines. They are easily found on Yelp.com
