If MAGA hasn't aggrivated or depressed you, you haven't realized how corrupt it is. It's easy to not be aggrivated or depressed by remaining uninformed about corruption, or even gleefully participating in it, which is what most people do. Owen Cook is a good example of that in this case. If you understood how truly corrupt the world is, you would be severely depressed. That's not a mistake. Corruption is the elephant in the room which no one dares to look in the eyes.

It is aggrivating and depressing. But that's life.

But they come as a package. You can't just have the capitalism without the wolves. Tell that to the millions of Africans who die from malaria and live in squalor while the rest of the world works on computers.

That's far from clear. The West has given Africa lots of aid, technology, expertise, science, political support, medicine, vaccines, etc. Without the West, many Africans would still be living in huts. Of course the West has done evil things in Africa too. It's a mixed bag. The West has good and bad actors. But as long as your regard modernization as desirable, the West helped Africa modernize. But moderization comes with costs. The capitalist wolves.

As if those African governments would be functional otherwise. I have.

The existential predicament of today's Republican party is: How can we dominate others while making ourselves feel like we are morally superior and fair? They want both but they can never have both. So they must bullshit, bullshit, bullshit their way along.

It just cannot work like that today because there is no geographic boundary between Red and Blue. All major cities are Blue, even in Red states. Civil War analogies are wrong. Whatever happens it will be something new and unexpected.

They want a fantasy of 1950's America. With all the good parts and none of the bad parts. Not realizing that that can't work today. Fascism is all about a fantasy of a past that never was.

Massive protests at the least. But honestly I have no idea how it will play out. All I can predict is chaos and corruption. Trump is a chaos agent, so predicting what will happen under him is nearly impossible.

The Republican party is conflicted. On the one hand they know it is proper to be tolerant of minorities, on the other hand they just want white supremacy. But they want the fantasy of white supremacy where whites rule but in a nice way where they are also regarded as moral and decent in their domination of others. It's like, "I wanna be a Nazi, but not one of those evil Nazis, one of the compassionate Nazis."
