Read the Bible and look at his demeanor. Jesus was basically a radical spiritual revolutionary and nutcase who ran around town yelling, "The world is ending!" He had a bone to pick with the materialistic corruptions of Judaism, his religion. Several short years of that kind of behavior got him executed by the establishment. Understandably so. That's how it would have looked to you if you were alive in that era. -
Check out MAPS: http://www.maps.org/ They are a government sanctioned medical research program which is using psychedelics for therapy, and very successfully. In the next few decades, psychedelics will be used legally in the USA and Canada for therapeutic purposes, because science definitively proves it works, and works well. Just a matter of time. 5-meo has been used for therapy a lot in the past. It's highly effective. See Ralph Metzner's work. It's all been well-studied for decades. People are just ignorant of the results.

@Aamir King Right, cause who the hell wants to fast for 30 days when you could just watch cartoons and eat ice cream instead? How can we turn this whole thing about fasting for 30 days into more like cartoons and ice cream? So the kids like it I know! We could promise 72 virgin vaginas! Way better than cartoons and ice cream! Besides, cartoons haven't been invented yet and ice cream melts pretty fast in the desert. So... any takers? -

A distinction needs to be made between mystical experiences and insight. A mystical experiences comes and goes. But from it may come insight. The insight is more or less permanent. It's possible to have: Mystical experience with no insight Insight with no mystical experience Both Neither A mystical experience, even with little permanent insight, is still a HUGELY valuable thing for people on this path. Plus they're cool as hell. Would you pass up a free cosmic orgasm? -

@Outer There's a reason the medicine man was the original guru-figure in ancient human cultures. He knew where to find the good stuff -

@John Flores It's safe to assume there's always something deeper. Don't ever underestimate consciousness -
@David1 I wouldn't call it dissociative. It's more pleasant and less twisted than mushrooms or salvia. Just gotta get over the initial fear. Also, the fact that it's duration is short is a huge plus. That really minimizes the freakout factor because you can calm yourself down by thinking, "It will be all over in 20 minutes."

Mushrooms are highly effective for dealing with psychological issues. It's like 1 year of therapy compressed into 4 hours. 5-meo is like a divine nuclear explosion in your mind. Hard to tell what structures will collapse from it other than your entire model of physics and reality. It's more existential than psychological, although it could certainly have psychological fallout. Your biggest challenge will be integrating it back into ordinary life. These substances could certainly help, but it's still essential that you go out and socialize more. You're not going to cure shyness by sitting in your Mom's basement (if that's your plan). -
I bet ya that even a blind person will experience some crazy visuals on N,N-DMT. 5-meo's most important features aren't visual. Infinite is infinite. Even a blind man is infinite.

@Frogfucius Careful about idealizing enlightened people, you will be disappointed. Jesus was not pure benevolence. If you look at the descriptions of him, he was also a prick. As many enlightened masters can be. Don't equate enlightenment with automatic goodness. That goodness requires MUCH additional work. And it's actually easier to become deeply enlightened than to become perfectly good. -
The panic attack didn't have any odd sensations associated with it. I was mostly just worried that I had no idea what the 5-meo experience would be like and that I poisoned myself and would be tripping for 4 hours. They were rather silly fears. On 5-meo you have no choice. You either accept it 100%, or you're gonna be in the deepest hell you can imagine. To me the act of surrender feels like pulling the cord on your parachute after you jump out of the plane. You don't really have an alternative. If you don't pull it, you're fucked. So I always take it seriously and surrender for real. I have a feeling 5-meo will force you to surrender whether you want to or not, but if you drag it out, it will just be needless suffering. 5-meo is utterly beyond merely weird sensations. It's an impossible experience. Like becoming a living Escher drawing.

You assume Tai is highly developed. But he is obviously not. Don't confused success with development. Yes, like I said, the more inner demons you have, the more shit you repress, the more ego you have, the more of that you'll have to deal with if you ever open Pandora's box. What undeveloped people don't realize is how much truth they've been repressing and denying their whole lives. It's so much, it will make you physically throw up if you ever discover it in one instance. Literally it will make you physically ill, all your lies. But you don't even know what I'm referring to yet. The lies are so deep. Maybe one day you will. If there's anything I know for sure, it's that my stance on radical openmindedness is not nearly radical enough. Everything the average human being knows about reality is so wrong it's heart-breaking and shocking. And there's very little I can do to help because to hear me requires that one already suspect that one is living in a Matrix. You just don't know yet how deep the Matrix is. It's way worse than any movie has hinted at. It's utterly impossible to comprehend to the human mind. Like an ant trying to understand calculus. -
@Outer Yes, I've experienced buzzing on mushrooms too. Not quite as dramatic.

@JustinS Likewise with my mushrooms trip 1 week post 5-meo. It was gnarly.

Reconciling LoA with enlightenment work is tough. But doable. It's a real test of your ability to hold paradox and your nimbleness of mind. You sort of have to become a CPU with 2 cores, each running simultaneous but opposite paradigms, compartmentalized to each core. Not recommended for newbies. If your goal is build some personal success for yourself. Just focus on LoA for now, with a plan to come back to enlightenment work after a few years of working on your success goals. Just don't get lost in chasing success. It will never fulfill you. And keep a daily meditation habit going no matter what. -

@Svartsaft Hint: If you (i.e., ego) cringe at the thought of something, then it's probably super-healthy for ya Are you seeing the game yet? Are you seeing how ego separates itself from other? -

@Seyed Well said. @Davie Notice carefully how Tai's business, his speaking, his marketing, his selection of books and video topics -- and basically everything he does -- is a reflection of his Spiral Dynamics stage Orange level of consciousness. His internal development is creating a glass ceiling on his actions, which are then used by his mind to justify his current level of internal development. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. This is the very real danger of closedmindedness. This is especially dangerous with him because he's been so successful. It's EXTREMELY hard now for him to realize that all that success is built on delusion. Because he believes success defines truth. For him to come around would probably create a nervous breakdown, or a serious case of dark night of the soul type depression. It would be a VERY rude awakening. So it's not likely to happen without some hard external force. (5-meo would probably get the job done, but of course he's unlikely to ever try it, and it would be a painful experience for him.) This is what happens when you don't take epistemology seriously and don't see your own blindspots. Watch out, because it's not just him. The EXACT SAME THING IS HAPPENING IN YOU! Can you see it? -
I have videos covering each topic separately. They are quite different techniques.

What can you expect from an academic? Worth reading though.

@JustinS It didn't feel or sound like an "Aum" to me. I think it is specific to 5-meo or other psychedelics screwing with the brain.

It's a good idea to sit down -- at least one time in your life -- and seriously ask yourself, "What do the concepts right and wrong actually mean?"
