Leo Gura replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There is only Infinity. So everything is inevitable. Talking about free will seems silly from this vantage point. Its sort of like asking, Does that rock have free will? A rock is a rock. And Infinity is Infinity. And YET! with all that said, individual choices are as important as ever. But it's not so much that Leo is making the choices, but that Infinity is making the choices. -

@egoless Yes, it is the ultimate full circle. But now your attitude toward the whole thing changes. I was standing at Wholefoods yesterday chatting with a stranger, and I was acutely aware that his body is me. Also, I am aware that I will experience every evil and horror ever imaginable. And that makes me very humble and compassionate towards people. I literally carry the universe's suffering on my shoulders. And it's an awesome responsibility. There are very important attitudinal differences which come with such profound understanding. Even though ordinary life basically continues just as before. Perhaps most important is the maturity which comes after deeply seeing the Truth. You have seen things which no childish mind can stomach. You have seen the price of creation and it is deeply humbling. -

Imagine, for a moment, a "thing" which has absolutely zero limits placed upon it. Sort of like an infinite dictator (AKA, God). And think for a minute of the enormous consequences of what such a "thing" would entail if it was actually real. God is not limited by the physical laws. God is not limited PERIOD! The consequences of such a thing are staggering beyond all comprehension. For example, just one consequence of such a "thing" is that it would have to include the very present experience you are having, because if it didn't, that would be a limit -- but it is unlimited. Imagine, for example, a mathematical matrix which contains every possible dream that every human being has and can ever have. That would be getting close to Infinity. But now include an infinite numbers of dreams by an infinite number of beings and non-beings. Infinity is the sum total of every possible situation. Another way to understand it is: If Infinity actually existed, how would it look like? It would look precisely as the present experience you are having. -
Extracting 5-MeO from plant sources is extremely difficult. Much harder than N,N-DMT. You'd have to be a chemist and need thousands of dollars of lab equipment to do it. Most plants that contain 5-MeO also contain N,N-DMT, and in much larger quantities. So you'd need a method to separate out both molecules. And 5-MeO-DMT is much less stable of a molecule than N,N-DMT. I have only heard of one instance of a person being able to extract it. And the guy was a professional chemist. And even, it seems his results were mixed. Or maybe someone will invent a better method in the future. But for now, it seems unrealistic. Finding a toad would be easier.

@John Iverson I bet you there are mystics and yogis in the Philippines. You just gotta look harder If not there, then certainly in nearby places in Indonesia or South East Asia. Here is just one example: http://www.phala.dhamma.org/ -

You can meditate under almost any circumstance, including getting tortured or at the dentist's office. Is it IDEAL to meditate after a large meal? Obviously not because you will be more sleepy as blood from your head rushes to your stomach. But I often meditate after meals. Just keep your meals lite. Or ideally do your session a few hours afterward or before. -
Leo Gura replied to cactus's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@cactus Sounds like what she experienced wasn't enlightenment but depersonaliation disorder. This is like a half-baked enlightenment. A sort of negative infinity. It's definitely an incomplete awakening. A proper enlightenment should still leave you passionate about participating in life. Of course something like the desire to get a master's degree might completely fall away -- especially if the degree was in a field which wasn't authentic to begin with. But then new motivations arise -- more authentic ones. Yes, some enlightened people choose to become recluses. There's nothing wrong with that per se, but it has to be done authentically, not out of fear or depression or lack of passion. True enlightenment should make you MORE capable, not less. Of course inauthentic parts of your life will fall away. This may be painful or scary at first, but ultimately that's what you want: a more authentic life. I wouldn't worry too much about this. Depersonalization is rare, and I think it mostly happens with people who don't study the theory enough and don't realize what they're getting into so it can blindside them. They somehow misinterpret Emptiness or No-self as a negative thing, which it isn't. I find my awakenings very motivating, and so do most people I think. -

I also said in that very same video that I do not possess knowledge of all facts. That is not what we're talking about here. We're talking about understanding the metaphysical nature of everything. That doesn't mean you become a walking encyclopedia. There is an infinite number of facts, so on one can ever know even 1% of them. Nor is that desirable. What can surprise science is that reality is infinite and science isn't understanding WHAT it is. -

Since there is only BEING, it cannot be grasped. You must BE it. -
Leo Gura replied to sarapr's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There are no perceptions. There is only BEING mistaken for perceptions. The cause of every phenomena (or instance of BEING) are literally infinite. So you can study them FOREVER and never reach the end. Studying the brain can tell you things -- especially how to manipulate things -- but it will not tell you what anything is or why it is here. For that, you need to grasp BEING directly, which conventional scientific method can never do. -

Success and caring don't have to be at odds with one another. Don't stop your success. Evolve your success into a more caring kind of success. Stage Green succeeds when others around it are also succeeding.

Leo Gura replied to sarapr's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
"Brains do not exist" and studying the brain scientifically are not in conflict at all. We are talking about two different levels of reality. Brains exist as perceptions. Perceptions are empty and not happening inside yet more brains (yet more perceptions.) What sense does it make to say that a brain (a perception) is happening within a brain (another perception)??? Perceptions do not happen inside other perceptions. That is the illusion that must be broken. In truth, there is no perceptions happening at all. There is only BEING which is mistaken for perception. -

@Ayilton Doesn't matter. Just make sure you practice it on 4 hours of empty stomach. Serious yoga should not be done after meals. -
Leo Gura replied to D-tron's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@D-tron It's all a natural part of the spiritual purification process. Stay the course and try not to get too wrapped up in phenomena. If you get a lot of phenomena like that, that might mean you are paranormally sensitive and could develop siddhis (paranormal powers) like seeing auras, etc. That can be cool and useful stuff. But it can also be a big distraction from pure awakening. I suggest you go for pure awakening first. Then you can circle back around to siddhis if you still want. Personally, I've never got anything like that. But I'm a very rationally-minded person. -

Leo Gura replied to billiesimon's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@billiesimon Yes, you will need a few enlightenment experiences to really get it. But you can burn the candle from both ends. You don't need enlightenment to start to see the truth of this. Just using very simple common sense you can introspect and see that the reason you dislike SJWs or terrorists is because they conflict with your self-agenda. Whatever ideology or ideals you hold about the world, they disturb that. Right? But obviously your ideology and ideals are purely subjective and selfish. They have nothing to do with the universal perspective. Obviously the universe must like SJWs and terrorists because it created them! See? So you can just start practicing more acceptance and less judgment of people who impinge on your self-agenda. Notice that mostly what you do in life is try to advance and defend your self-agenda. Just start noticing that and slowly let go of your need to do that. Yes, it will be uncomfortable and scary. But that is real growth. You are starting to relate to the world in a new way. Have you tried asking yourself, "What good might these SWJ's be doing? What larger purpose might they be serving in the universe? Could they have some good intentions? What if I was a SWJ in a past life?" And then try to be compassionate about them. If you think they are ignorant, then be compassionate towards that ignorance. You and them have a lot in common. There's plenty of ignorance on all sides. So rather than playing the blame game, try to see the situation from an elevated perspective. Would a sage go on a rant against SJW's? How would sage act? How would a sage think? And here's a real eye opener for ya: Does Jordan Peterson look happy and blissful when he's ranting against SJW's? Here's a very simple rule of thumb: if an activity you do doesn't make you feel joyful, then the only reason you're doing it is out of self-preservation, and you might want to consider just letting the whole thing go. -
Leo Gura replied to MarkusSweden's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
All of your best reasoning and ruminations are futile because they are happening within the dream. Break the dream first, then see if there's anything left to ruminate about (there won't be). When we speak of dreams, we are giving you a helpful analogy. Don't abuse the analogy. Enlightenment is LIKE waking up from a dream. Not identical to it in every way. Obviously, as then it wouldn't be enlightenment but the ordinary waking up you do every morning. Just imagine that you can awaken from your current life. That's all we're saying. That is possible. So now go do it. Analyzing the analogy to death will only get you further stuck in the dream. The analogy is taking place within your dream. It is a pointer to something BEYOND. -
Leo Gura replied to MarkusSweden's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Infinity must include all finitudes! Infinity cannot exclude anything, which paradoxically means it must even include all possible exclusions! That is the ULTIMATE realization. The Absolute and the relative are identical. Everything is Nothing and Nothing is Everything. Mu -
Leo Gura replied to billiesimon's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@billiesimon Lol... The irony is... THEY ARE YOU! Talking about yourself there? See how your devilish mind ignores your own hatred and dislike of people, exteriorizing the problem? Enlightenment means, everything is you. Nothing can be rejected or criticized, ever. Everything is as it must be, including all the "evil", ignorance, anything you personally dislike. How can you awaken to infinite love when you refuse to accept SJWs? How you gonna accept something far more sinister, like terrorists or school shooters or serial killers? All of them are YOU! So what you're doing is rejecting aspects of yourself that you don't like. Which creates suffering and agitation in you. Why you let a SWJ disturb your peace? To an enlightened person there is no such thing as SWJs. There is only Absolute Infinity, the total perfection of reality exactly as it arises. -

Don't be so sure about that. Whatever sexual urges and addictions you had before enlightenment will be afterwards, for the most part. Purifying your cravings is a whole separate ball game. -
