WTF??

The whole point of LP is that you're not aiming for a formal career. Your career must be YOU! It's not something you apply for online, it's something you ARE -- something you embody and handcraft. Why would you want a cookie-cutter career? They are so lame! If you are creative, how about applying that creativity to handcraft your career? You just gotta put to mind power into it. This takes some strategic planning and design work.

That is of course also true. That is the domain of traditional science. We definitely want more scientific research of 5-MeO. The point is, you will never resolve the strange loop, you will just find more surface area to it. For example, if a scientist tells you that 5-MeO deactivates the default mode network in the cingulate gyrus -- will that satisfy your metaphysical thirst? -

True. Except it provides the ULTIMATE answer to EVERYTHING. You must choose between TOTAL understanding and partial understanding. -

No, you cannot ask that. The construct doesn't interface with being, it IS being! This cannot be understood at your present level of consciousness. You must transcend it. The rational mind cannot go there. You need to access non-symbolic, infinite mind. -

@SeanD You must clear out your nostrils completely. I do this every day. Nasal strips also help a lot. -

@egoless There are infinite layers and none of them are real. That's what "reality" means. You're using the word "real" according to the materialist paradigm, which is improper. -

@John Lula Just contemplate: Why am I angry? Was is the anger distracting me from noticing about the situation? And you will usually discover that the anger was a smokescreen hiding that you feel hurt. And then you will become conscious of the hurt. So then just feel and acknowledge the hurt. And then wonder why you are hurt. If you don't exist, how can anything hurt you?

That's a rather flippant way to think of it. Experience is all you got. And it shapes you enormously. People who have not taken breakthrough doses of DMT cannot say, "Oh, I'm sure it will be a cool experience, but still, just an experience." No! That "just an experience" can transform your entire understanding of reality. Meeting a sentient alien face-to-face is a pretty big fucking deal. In the same way that if you woke up one day with Big Foot sleeping in your bed, that would be a big fucking deal. That's not merely an experience. -
Get good at the Socratic Method. It's the best way to teach people. And also, be a role model of consciousness behavior. Embody consciousness and truth. Monkey see, monkey do.

It's been put on delay because I have been devoting a lot of time to making myself more conscious.

Careful how you phrase things, because some noobs may misunderstand you and harm themselves. You don't want that blood on your hands. Best not to joke around about suicide. -

He can do whatever he wants. But if he's talking about DMT, he should probably try it. -

If you are familiar with Jed McKenna's work, what he is describing is precisely Jihad. His work has this unique feel to it, because he really emphasizes the Jihad part A LOT. It's too radical for most people, but those who like it, love it. -

Of course, I keep telling you guys, the ego externalizes all spiritual pursuits. It refuses to self-reflect or turn inwards, so it distracts by getting people to seek salvation externally. We see this happen with Islam as well as with Christianity and scientific materialism, and all the other human endeavors. The devil externalizes everything, because the truth can only be found inside. So the name of the game for the devil is to keep your eyes peeled externally. They are God. When you fully realize God, you will understand what Heaven is, and the best way to describe it to an Arab man from 600 AD would be to say: It's like having 72 virgins. It's a very accurate metaphor. God will actually make you far happier than having 72 virgins. -
Leo Gura replied to How to be wise's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@How to be wise That's right. Mushrooms and DMT are not enlightenment. 5-MeO is enlightenment. Mushrooms, LSD, DMT, etc can give you legitimate glimpses of enlightened consciousness, but they are still not deep and clear enough. Only 5-MeO is the full-Monty. If you look at the chemical reports of 5-MeO-DMT brain activity, it is unique from all other psychedelics. It's pure ego-death and infinity. But on DMT you can see aliens! So there's also that -
Leo Gura replied to Seed's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yeah, he should try DMT, but he doesn't want to because part of his 12-step program has made him swear off all drugs. Although I would argue that psychedelics do not count as "drugs". They are anti-addictive. But I could still see him getting stuck in the psychedelic rabbit hole to the point of escapism. I think his fear is, if he starts doing psychedelics, he will slide back into heroin. Who can say if that's true? 5-MeO-DMT and Iboga, for example, are actually the two most effective cures for heroin addiction. Because all that an addict is really looking for is God. He's just using the wrong tool to get there (heroin). -
Leo Gura replied to How to be wise's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
That would be total enlightenment. -

All good spiritual teachings must fit the time and culture of the people and the geographic location. The problem happens when people cling to the teaching without letting it evolve. If Islam was invented today in America, it would look something like Actualized.org, and if Actualized.org was invented in 600 AD Arabia, it would look something like Islam. -
Leo Gura replied to SpaceCowboy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You will run into a strange loop if you ask that question. Neurotransmitters don't really exist. That is an abstract concept created within consciousness. The strange loop is infinite! Every object has an infinite chain of causes. So you will never get to bottom of this inquiry because you are confusing symbols for BEING. Being cannot be symbolized. -

Leo Gura replied to mohdanas's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Because ego corrupts all spiritual endeavors. It's only a question of degree and style. The more popular a spiritual teaching becomes, the more it gets corrupted by ego. Christianity and Islam have both becomes their own worse enemies. The devil has co-opted both long ago. The first thing the devil does is co-opt truth and turn it into falsehood. In the same way that the first thing a cuckoo bird does after it hatches is kill all the other eggs, so it can pretend to be the genuine article. -
