That's precisely why there needs to be a stronger federal government with much better funding and strict protocols in place as soon as a new virus hits. This virus is directly the result of libertarian-like approach to government: let's just do nothing and the free market will fix itself. It sounds nice in theory, but in practice leads to mass death and economic horror. This virus is a failure of effective, competent, proactive government.
