The present condition is worse than actual mainly due to weather conditions such as winter climate and absence of rain.

But Delhi and many Indian cities always have some of the worst pollution levels in the world due to the following reasons:

1. Farmers in nearby states burning farm wastes

2. Excessive vehicle traffic, especially diesel ones and private transports.

3. Excessive construction activities

4. Firecrackers
