"the Founder", An Insight Into Leaders And Empirebuilding

1 post in this topic

What an interesting movie. To see Ray Croc start out franchising for the Mcdonalds brothers to scheming his way into owning it slowly but surely. He was ruthless and most of passionate. Gambling what looked to him like the jackpot. Despite his ruthless tactics, He did bring cheap, quick and convenient. It was the industrial revolution of resturants.

Many people blame bussinessmen for aggressive tactics but you ever look at history, "The Greats" weren't always that great. From Alexander's sacking to Catherine's annexation of Poland to Ghenghis Khans bloodbath. What makes a good bussinessmen or Ruler does not nessecarily make them a good person. The name of an powerful organization is efficency, productivity, effectiveness, and resource hording. This may not seem all nice and dandy on the surface but all these actions greatly benefit the organization not just from the top. The other flip side of a Ceo who is incompetent is homelessness, starvation, pay cuts, benefits loss, costly products and utilities bankruptcy. For a Ruler, that would be raids, famine, riots, war, civil war, slavery and death. So despite their methods, the greater good of that organization has much to thank them for perhaps even being mildly competent.(Ex:Ivan the Terrible, Nero). Imagine the world without those big evil corporations, Cars would be mythical, Iphones obsolete, Facebook out the window, forget about running water and cheap food? How about a potential famine?

Even Inventions aren't so gentle. Think of all the horse breederies that went out of bussiness with Ford's cars or the candle companies with the lightbulb. These things also required resources and it was hellbent on extracting it. This would lead to wars, corruption and coup d tats. Hell even the Greeks would've never accomplished much if it weren't for their slaves.
Innovation is ruthless but in the end that is what drives humanity to a better and brighter future. It is not adding on, It is purging.
