Does the pineal gland have anything to do with enlightment?

Yes it does.

Indians, Egyptians , Christians and many cultures gave great importance to it.

Most of kriya yoga is based on our agya chakra which is directly connected to pineal gland.

During advanced meditation, dmt is naturally release from our pineal gland while again plays a important role in enlightenment.
