What do you habitually apply yourself to?

Apply: do, think, feel, pay attention to, consume, invest, create.

By attempting to modify, add to, withdraw or hide --through pretension and manipulation-- our experience of ourselves and of life, we are conceding that what is there isn't enough by itself.

As a result of this relating, a continuous struggle emerges as our background condition.

Fear is as accessible and constant for us as a condition that it stops being noticed and instead recedes into the background of our experience, subtly (or grossly) tainting our experience of everything.

Can you find pain behind it?

Whatever you have about the absolute is not it. Notice how language subtly influences the way you think of it as "something" that is huge, as "lots and lots". It's useful to check yourself on that.

Can your attempts at "resolving" life be effective?

It's like being blind and, in order to recover your sight, you go about changing your surroundings.

In the analogy above, what's addressed are superficial manifestations. With this approach, the condition or foundational elements that source our so-called struggle in the first place are left intact.

Feeling inadequate and doubting your "worthiness", you may, for example, set out to become physically strong, gain popularity, or make lots of money in an attempt to pacify your inner insecurity and compensate for your feeling of lack, hoping that these accomplishments will resolve you.

I'm not disparaging such efforts but rather directing us to the motives behind them. Essentially what I'm saying is to do what you want and also be clear on why you're undertaking that course of action.

How can we approach real change?

What's my approach to life? Is it to avoid loss? What challenges do I continuously come across? How am I dealing with situations?

What is the root cause of X or Y? How does the condition exist? Where does it start and end? What is it made out of?

This moves us towards a healthy and freeing direction.

I made a lentil stew not so long ago:

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of cooked lentils
  • 1 can of mixed vegetables: Carrots, Potatoes, Green beans, Peas
  • 2 tablespoons of a homemade red chili pepper sauce made with olive oil (spicy!)
  • 1/2 glass tomato sauce
  • Minced basil
  • Rosemary or cumin
  • Hot paprika
  • Pepper mix
  • 1/3 Red onion
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • Salt
  • Water

Took about 10 minutes or so.

Pretty good imo, and spicy. Perhaps less vegetables next time – add just half of the vegetable mix. Personal preference.

Just arrived!

The Spanish edition wasn't very accessible to find nor reasonably-priced on second-hand digital markets, but here it is brand-new finally.

Remain presently vulnerable in a wide-open state; this is powerful and authentic as opposed to clinging to old presumptions and jumping to conclusions!
