Sexual Desire Diminished

4 posts in this topic

Has anyone else experienced the diminishing of sexual desire due to intense studying of awareness and consciousness?

I feel like I am so much in my head and being stimulated intellectually and spiritually that I have lost my sexual desire.

I am currently single and have two possible lovers, but I just don't feel the need to have sex right now. I've always been a very sexual person, very into sensuality and regular masturbation, etc. I feel it's a very important part of living and relationships. I did have a bad break up last Summer and have not had sex with a partner since, but I don't think that's the reason. I actually just feel disconnected to the sexual part of me right now.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and did it eventually come back?

@Driven Woman i experienced it. porn no longer does it to me. i don't enjoy masturbation anymore and i couldn't just be with any sexual partner. i didn't take it as a bad thing, though. i was finally free to face people as the divine spirit itself, men or women. i was finally able to experience true compassion for the suffering of others. so i started a journey to connect deeply with people.

eventually i met a special person who made me feel "strange" inside again and now we're lovers. but i was ok with being single for the rest of my life.

that's what i did. i used the opportunity to go further.

@Driven Woman
yes, I think the lack of sexual desire is very normal and quite connected to the consciosness/awareness study process.  Especially at the beginning, before all the fascination and  "shock" wears off of your mind from all those mind-blowing concepts you discovered. More focus you put on your mental side, more you take it off from your physical body. So you should't be surprised if sex is no longer in your priority list at the moment.  But the lack of desire is just the part of the process and will probably get "fixed" after a while, before something else will influence your mind all over again. So I think it's just an ongoing process and there's nothing to worry about.

Thank you @ajasatya and @Kaity I appreciate the feedback. I, too, believe that when I'm ready it will come back into my life. I feel I will be even more able to express myself fully as a compassionate human being, as well. I will be more in touch with what moves me, and I think my sensuality will be heightened as all of mys senses have been heightened through this process of raising my consciousness. I feel I have been connecting deeper with people, and I'm thinking much more holistically when it comes to thinking about potential partners.
