On agency & pac-man (short & sweet)

I’m out at Frickers (sports bar popular in U.S.) with a couple friends. We always eat and have a few drinks before going to the pac-man machine to play some games. 
 

Friend #1: (Immediately after he dies to one of the ghosts) They really sensed what I was doing there! 
 

Friend #2 who has a PhD in philosophy among other degrees: It’s funny how we attribute human qualities like that to algorithms. 
 

Me: Aren’t human beings simply more complex algorithms? 
 

Friend #2: Stop that shit; we’re playing pac-man!
