Fear-mongering is sabotaging my purpose

I often see so much negative news predicting new crysis like: black outs, food shortages, hyperinflation, new covid waves...

Even in main stream news, I'm not talking about low credibility websites, they all try to induce fear-mongering the population.

The thing is I saved enough money to buy a patch of land as a beginning to my goal of having a self-sustainable homestead and a cabin to do retreats  and a healthy environment to grow my child in the future.

But spending my savings in the land makes me feel it's a bad idea because I should have the savings if some "catastrophic event" happens, but wont happen.

My main fear is losing the plot that I like if another buyer is faster than me by being too conservative.

What you recommend?
