3 ways to deal with a narcissist- how I escaped Narcissistic Abuse

7 posts in this topic

3 ,ways from personal experience of dealing with these trouble makers

  • Reject and abandon a narcissist
  • Ignore the narcissist. Ignore them constantly and ignore them a lot....The moment you give them attention, that's their narcissistic supply. Act like you Never care about them.
  • Don't give them a reaction. Be stone faced. They are always looking for a reaction to see how influence they still have on you.
  • Show power
  • Never show your weaknesses to a narcissist
  • Defeat a narcissist. Never befriend them or seek their validation
  • Give them a sense of rejection
  • Do not accept what they say

In summary. There are several telltale signs of a covert narcissist. They are often overly critical, demoralizing, dismissive of your needs and feelings, and passive-aggressive. They are self-centered and lack emotional empathy.

The Covert Narcissist's Abusive Behaviors

These self-serving tactics can include gaslighting and distorting reality; manipulations to get what they want; showing contempt and giving the silent treatment; dominating and controlling their partner; and belittling and humiliating verbally and emotionally.

So I went through separate Narcissistic Abuse patterns in my life.

  • First pattern was overt Narcissistic Abuse with my mother when I was a kid
  • Second pattern was covert Narcissistic Abuse with my second ex Mr Bud
  • Third pattern was Overt Narcissistic Abuse with my ex boyfriend Joseph that mirrored my mom's behaviour.

I suffered Narcissistic Abuse for the following durations

  • With my mom for 10 years of childhood, rigorous.
  • With my second ex Bud for 1 full year
  • With my ex boyfriend Joseph for a period of 3 years.

The longer the duration of Narcissistic Abuse, the harder it gets to move through recovery.
