Is There a Distinction Between 1st Person & 3rd Person?

2 posts in this topic

I am watching this video below with Daniel Schmachtenberger. At 36:00 he begins talking about Consciousness.

At some points he says:

Quote

I think about the nature of 1st person and 3rd person as ontologically orthogonal to each other . Not reducible to each other. They are different kind of stuff.

Not either like the idealists we reduce the 3rd person to 1st person , nor like the physicalists do we reduce the 1st person to 3rd person.

What do you guys think about his opinion?

The 3d person is couched inside and depends upon the 1st person and not the other way around.

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .
