Best resources for growing your own food?

Anyone know the best resources/tutorials to grow your own food in your garden, like with grow crates & stuff like that?

I tried doing a bunch of research but what worked best for me was to go to the store and buy and bunch of seeds and plants, and then to plant them, and then to eat them.

After doing this you can learn about more.

If you want to grow in a crate, get a grow crate, put dirt in it, and them put seeds in it.

just an idea but I'm interested to hear other answers.
