A city that didn't build walls

2 posts in this topic

On a tribal planet, where tribes often go around to conquer other tribes...

There was a city. A peaceful city. Its inhabitants, aware of the world which they lived in, decided to not build any walls around their city.

They wanted their city to be open, they wanted their city to be welcoming, first and foremost and regardless of what was out there.

The city shined, it prepared for the best

One day a warring tribe attacked this city... ransacked it, pulverized it, consumed it, brought it down, destroyed the city.

All the inhabitants died, the city was utterly defenseless to this attack.

The violent, warring tribe conquered the city and toke pleasure in consuming it.

One may ask, what was the point? What was the point of not building walls if things end this way? If everyone ended up dying?

What did this city achieve?

The city was wiped out, no trace of its peaceful culture left...except for now, through those who are hearing about it.

Through the readers witnessing this story, the city lives again.

So you can find for yourself in your heart, in your feelings, in how this city makes you feel, what the point was.

How does the peaceful city without walls make you feel?

How does the warring tribe that conquered the city and gained pleasure make you feel?

Both are necessary or else the story would not be the story. One has to be open so One can destroy. Loving your message.
