Is it safe to mix different yoga styles (not in same session of course)

2 posts in this topic

i'm reading the Kriya yoga book and i started attending a yoga class (specifically the yoga-in-daily-life school) since im VERY in-flexible. its a bit confusing since the "yoga in daily life" is a brand that has schools/ashrams in many countries everywhere, its not Hatha/Kriya/Ashtanga per se but kinda a branch in itself. Its most similar to hatha but at the end of a session you do a pranayama thats very different. You have to keep two fingers (index and middle) on your third eye and then with your thumb close one nostril. THEN you KEEP IT CLOSED for 3 minutes! breathing slowly only through the left nostril. Then you switch. I havent come across any type of pranayama like this before. But i like the yoga class since it stretches my muscles and back.

i want to continue with Kriya every morning, which has a complete different way of doing pranayama.

Now im wondering if its safe to do the Kriya every morning, and in the evening do hatha-like yoga classes.

Kriya yoga is commonly combined with Hatha yoga. Of course that are many styles of each.

Remember the principle of self-experimentation.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.
