Okay is the alpro unsweetened almond milk really that bad ?

I've been using it for almost a year and reading this thread I feel quite uncomfortable about this revelation.

Yeah there are some chemicals but that's almost unavoidable in a almond milk processed thingy.

Overtime the chemicals build up and mess your system up. Always look for organic they always have less ingredients and richer made. yes they won't last longer but still should be good for a week or two. Remember what you put in your body = your life, not just your health but your state of existence.

The less ingredients something has, the quicker it will spoil but that shows its living food and better for you.

@Charlotte here is a bit of cost overview for you on this:

Cost of ingredients to make homemade Almond Milk

1kg non-organic almonds = 12£ (Amazon)

100 g = 1.2£

1 cup = 150g = 1.25£ = 0.8L

Homemade vs Store bought

Homemade (0.8L) 1.5£   -   Store bought (1L) 2£

Cost wise not a big difference however

  • no preservatives, phosphates, calcium supplements and other crap
  • the grinned almonds left in milk bag can still be eaten
  • you can add a flavour by tossing couple of strawberries in the mix.
  • less waste produced

Downsides

  • it is a bit messy process
  • need to soak
  • need to supply with almonds more often
  • lasts only about 3 days before getting bad
  • need a blender

Worth it? Absolutely !!

(Sorry for the late reply I didn't catch the notification)

I'll let you be the judge of that.

Google the ingredients.

Not unavoidable.

Buy organic, I'm not sure whether your in the UK but I get organic milks from co-op, Tesco etc.

Thanks for that!! Really appreciate it ??

I've been buying organic milks for the time being and I'm definitely contemplating making my own hemp milk.
