Characteristics Of A Self-actualized Person

1 post in this topic

hi everybody, my first post... hope uselful :)

Who is this Self-Actualized person, and what characteristics does s/he have?

Maslow offers some characteristics of self-actualized people...

do you agree with this list? ... have others characteristics to add?

. Situation-centered (not self-centered);
. They perceive reality efficiently ( more sensory-promptness, sharper orienteering in the environment)

. They can tolerate uncertainty;
. Accept themselves and others for what they are;
. Spontaneous in emotions, thoughts and actions; they "see" what it is, not with prior "model/rules" [what it must be instead of what it is]
. Healthiest/Unusual sense of humor;
. Able to look at life objectively;
. Capable of deep appreciation of basic life-experience, of all nature; don't need to look for something new all the time
. Resistant to enculturation, but not purposely unconventional;
. Peak experiences;
. Experiencing life like a child, with full absorption and concentration
. Trying new things instead of sticking to safe paths;
. Avoiding pretense ('game playing') and being honest
. Being prepared to be unpopular if your views do not coincide with those of the majority;
. Able to identify your defenses and having the courage to give them up.
etc...
