Color Therapy With Vr Headset

1 post in this topic

Recently, I was reading an article about color therapy and its affects on balancing the chakras/mood. Then something clicked. I had recently been playing around with my VR headset (you can find one cheap online that uses your smartphone), and was looking for apps that show stereoscopic 3D images of landscapes or whatnot to use for open eye meditation/trance induction.  (by they way you should try it). Then, after reading the article, I wondered if there were any apps specifically made for color/light therapy for use with VR. Sadly, I couldn't find any in the Google Play store, but there are several non-VR apps that are made for color therapy. I figured it wouldn't matter, since it just displays one solid color, and the VR headset would direct the color straight into my eyes. So I downloaded a few color therapy apps, popped my smart phone into the VR headset, laid back and relaxed. One app cycles through different colors at 20 second intervals, which was nice because otherwise I would have to open the headset and activate my phone every time I wanted to change a color, although I would prefer up to 10 minute intervals.

There really needs to be an app for this! Also, I think it would be neat if you could select two different colors at one time, so that one eye receives one color, and the other another...(I have no idea what effect that would have on color therapy, if any, or if it would be counterproductive). I also don't know if I am hurting my eyes if the screen brightness is turned all the way up... so looking for some advice on that...
