AI Coding Is Crazy Yo...

I'm not a coder. I'm just interested in the field. 

Recently the rise of "agentic AI" has created the possibility of feeding and AI stupid simple prompts... and having it create entire websites or applications within minutes or hours depending on the complexity.

It's really insane and is such a juicy moral-ethical, spiritual debate to be had.

Here is what I'm seeing so far:

Coding With Claude Requires Basically No-Effort:
 

this guy, Anrej Karpathy is one of the leading AI coders and helped build ChatGPT.

The way he talks to and uses his AI agents are wild. Speaking in super simple language like "build the thing" and having Claude figure out the rest. It's actually insane.

His recent blog post explains how he made this YouTube clone called HackerTube.org that basically just feeds people the exact videos that are in the Hacker niche of interest.

It's really cool, honestly, and the website functions pretty flawlessly from my limited testing.

[imagine being able to ask Claude to code your own website (that actually works this well) within a few hours. WTF?]

 

Here's a pretty good demonstration of how it might look to code something with Claude:

it's a bit of a long video but it basically explains and demonstrates how Claude coded this app that he's making (within 6 hours).

The Moral Philosophical Implications:

Is this even worth it? 
 

This video explains the depression and loss of purpose that comes from someone who actually really enjoys coding and refused to use AI in his process because it takes away from the artistry and enjoyment of the craft.

I made a short little blog post that explains a little bit of the philosophical and moral implications that I have on this overall idea, it's a short read, I hope you don't mind me sharing.

Anyways, what to make of all this?

Things are changing quickly in the world of technology and coding... and the question is...

Who's gonna power all those damn GPU's 😂😂😂
