Being comfortable with being uncomfortable

2 posts in this topic

OUR STORY So Far ⬇️

Mental clarity: You have learned to quiet anxiety, boredom, and the constant need for external distraction.

Self-awareness: You can observe your emotions and mental habits without immediately panicking or reacting.

Emotional regulation: You no longer rely solely on other people or constant entertainment to feel okay.

How It Differs From Enlightenment

Not a permanent state: Comfort in solitude can come and go depending on your mood, stress levels, or life circumstances, whereas traditional definitions of enlightenment point to a lasting transformation of consciousness.

Still tied to the ego: Being at ease with your thoughts still happens within the mind. Spiritual traditions (like Buddhism, Advaita, or the concepts discussed via The Art of Living) often describe enlightenment as going beyond or dropping the constant stream of the mind entirely, rather than just getting along with it.

Interconnectedness vs. isolation: True awakening is rarely just about enjoying your own company in a room; spiritual frameworks emphasize a deep sense of universal empathy, compassion, and connection to all living things rather than withdrawing into personal peace.

I like this phrase .

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .
